I'm amazed at just how much stuff I have to collect in World 3...

The Epic of Gilgaluf - Chapter 14

Speaking of which, I have legendaries to grab right now.

Odd choice, I know, but I'm tired of that ancient Diamond Bell cluttering my inventory; too bad this isn't much better. (Speaking of which, I should remember to ditch those Great Swords next time I'm in town. Maybe I'll sell the Sleep Blades too...)

Second-strongest katana in the game for pure attack power (let's pretend the postgame doesn't exist, shall we?), but it's not as prone to critical hits as Murasame. Still worthwhile, though.

And just because I'm apparently binging on Japanese culture, grab this too. (Of course, if I get it for a boss I won't complain since it's basically an upgraded Main Gauche.)

This is what happens when you Jump on an Exdeath's Soul with the Holy Lance. That said, it still sucks to fight them because of Reaper's Sword.

After pawning a few outdated items (the Diamond Bell is so old it only went for 250!), off to Fork Tower!

Conveniently, I've got a caster and a physical fighter, so I can just send one each way.
: Pretty sure the strength tower's on the right, so you go that way and I'll take the left.
: Fair enough.
: And I'm taking the statues, for the record.
:

Why use my own MP to kill things when I can use theirs?

This is a thing. A thing I hope I never wind up with (primarily because of that "consistency" thing I mentioned before).

As for the trash mobs on the right side, a full-power Brave Blade works wonders.

This could be handy, at least.

Gilgaluf vs. Minotaur.
I'll admit, I skipped a bunch of weapons that had pretty much (or even literally... usually the latter) no chance of victory against this guy (especially since Enkidu's not here to pick up the slack); I don't think I'll count them as deaths since I didn't actually try them. Considering what the randomizer tried to give me (especially how many weapons which would've just HEALED him), though, can you blame me? I mean, out of all the rejects I got a grand total of ONE that was even theoretically capable of damaging him, two if you count the Wonder Wand! And to top it off, that one was Frost Rod, which probably wouldn't do much damage without breakage (and I don't think I have enough lying around to kill him that way). Oh, and I switched to a Mirage Vest (whose bug I exploit to stay on top of things) and Hermes Sandals, and since !Blue won't work, I switch to another Gilgamesh-appropriate command temporarily.
: Could you hold up a second? My armory's not exactly cooperating right now... ah, there we go. Ready!

Boss Deaths: 0
Total Boss Deaths: 7
Weapons Used On Boss: Icebrand
Non-Viable Weapons Skipped: 11 (Frost Rod, Wonder Wand, Excalibur*2, Healing Staff, Judgment Staff*2, Power Staff*2, Lamia's Harp, Staff of Light)

Y'know, come to think of it I feel like it's probably possible to actually use this on Omniscient, should you have !White equipped...

Enkidu vs. Omniscient.
This one's much easier than Minotaur was; Enkidu's basically impervious to harm from start to finish. It's nice to have some actual magic to use on this guy (and, you know, not have to contend with an RNG that seems to be out to get me, made worse by worse than 1/4 odds of drawing something literally incapable of beating the boss)! Anyway, Reflect Ring contributes quite a bit against this guy- there's, like, a grand total of ONE spell he even knows that's non-reflectable. (I was tempted to spam Magic Hammer, but turns out it was unnecessary.)
: Ah, yes, another guy who's gonna help me blow him up whether he likes it or not.

Total Boss Deaths: 7
Other Deaths: 10 (It doesn't let you redo your abilities, unfortunately. Not that I needed to...)
Galuf-less Bosses Left: 0

And now I can Flare things regardless of level! (It's just more efficient if it's a multiple of 3.)

Off to grab the submarine again. Still wanna know what happened to Xezat's, though.

Let's head off to the Tower of Walse real quick for the Mime shard, not that I need it for anything other than Gogo's bestiary entry.

...why did it sink, though...?

Not gonna count this as a boss due to the "stand there until he gets bored" gimmick. I'll just teleport out when he does.
: I'll copy any form of attack you could possibly do!
: *staaaaare*
: (...I'm bored...)

Going swimming in the Great Sea Trench now.

Bet you guys saw Enkidu pulling his best Mozart impression coming.

...You know what, I think I'll include this in the randomizer. I mean, it isn't exactly a weapon, but it'll let me represent "unarmed" pretty well.

Vs. The Three Corpses.
This one's mostly on Enkidu, since I need to kill them all at the same time or it doesn't stick. In case anyone's wondering, I used Aqua Breath to make sure everything died SIMULTANEOUSLY so I don't risk a Delta Attack. Also: Requiem from a Magic-built Blue Mage does quite a bit of damage. Told ya the only thing holding !Sing back is the Bard.
: How do you kill a bunch of dead guys, anyway?
: Allow me to demonstrate...

Tablet.

Meteor. I now know all but 5 spells: Syldra, Phoenix, Leviathan, Bahamut, and Roulette. (Not counting Dark Arts because A: that requires me to use Necromancer, and B: postgame BS.) Anyway, off to pick up my new legendaries!

Welcome back, buddy. I remember how helpful you were when I was fighting Shinryuu as Mozart... well, and in general, really.

I'm running out of options here, as expected from someone who's on his third Tablet.

...How many of these guys were there, anyway? (Not the weapons, the guys who used them on Enuo.) I mean, I count, like, eleven minimum, and THAT'S assuming that their Ninja was dual-wielding Sasuke's Katana and the Assassin's Dagger.

Off to Istory Falls for the last Tablet dungeon!

I don't think I'll be using this on Leviathan (and I'll be selling it as soon as I get out), so I won't bother adding it to my list. (Edit: I still included it in my Leviathan roll, but it didn't pop up.)

Like I said: Easier way to get this than stealing it from Stingrays.

As you can see, Enkidu has !Black for this dungeon. It's quite effective, especially in conjunction with the Gold Hairpin and Magus Rod.
: ZAPPO!

I've built up a bit of a bow collection.

Very nice sword for Blue Mages like Enkidu (or a Red Mage, I guess). I mean, it's got good attack power AND +3 Magic- what's not to like? Well, besides the lack of elemental boosts.

Nice. Now I can put one of these on each of my guys! Sure, it's weaker than the elemental shields, but I think the spell block chance is worth it.

Axes are not my forte. (Completely aside from how they just plain suck...)

And all tablets have been collected! For the record, I'm pretty sure the boss here is technically optional even if you grab this, but why would anyone skip it?

Vs. Leviathan.
This probably goes without saying, but Galuf's switching to a Coral Ring for this. Also, I kinda feel sorry for Leviathan, considering what Galuf wound up using on it (plus Enkidu's Thundaga spam).
: Big one, aren't ya?
: Means he's gonna fall pretty hard.

Summon get!

I'll finish up the out-of-Rift stuff next time. Shouldn't take too long to read through (and I'll spare you the slog of Phoenix Tower and skip to the interesting stuff when I do that).
