The adorable dark doggy is, unlike most Dark types, not hampered by its mismanaged stats by actually being a special attacker! Both of its STABs enjoy its high Special Attack and it even has a usable Attack stat for coverage. This does, however, make it really damn frail and its Speed isn't the greatest, but if you manage to go first, you should deal some real damage. While you won't be lacking in Dark moves, you're gonna be waiting a while to upgrade Ember to Flamethrower, unless you decide to risk it all with Fire Blast. Other that that, however, the best special coverage you can get is Solarbeam, which can work well if you can get the sun up. Physical wise, you have the standard TMs, which you do need, since the only physical move you learn is Smog. But you also get Iron Tail, Shadow Ball, Sludge Bomb, etc, etc. All the good stuff. So load up and get attacking, cause you're gonna do some damage.
