Oddish analysis Gloom analysis

Aloha, hula dancer. There's some interesting aspects of this sunny flower, but a lot of Gen 2's problems come back to bite it. First is the constant problem of Grass STAB, which its previous evolutions do not help with, as they only learn low power Grass and Poison STAB. If you want to make the best use of Bellossom right out of the gate, then you have to keep Gloom until level 44 for Petal Dance. So you've gotta wait for the Grass TMs, but you should teach your Gloom Sludge Bomb before it evolves, as Bellossom can't learn the TM. It works just fine as a mixed attacker, with balanced attacking stats, as well as balanced defensive stats. This is all to compensate for its low Speed, so expect to be taking some hits. But at least you can take them. Unfortunately, all you'll have to attack with are Grass and Normal moves, but at least it's something? Yeah, it's not great, but it's just fine enough to work with.
