The flying rock dinosaur has always had STAB problems. And this gen is no exception. Don't believe Lance's lies that Aerodactyl can learn Rock Slide, it definitely can't in any way. It can learn Ancientpower, but is that really the same thing? It can also learn Wing Attack... at level 1, so you'll have to breed to actually get it. But hey, these moves are better than nothing and work well with its good Attack and excellent Speed. Ancientpower's low PP is a bit of a bummer, but you can supplement it with a number of other physical TMs, like Return, Steel Wing and Earthquake. So it's got options, just don't expect it to set the world on fire. It's also pretty fragile, so its low power moves might not be great as you need to knock out opponents quickly. Still, it's a damn sight better than last gen and it'll only get better from here.
