Hey, this is Blind Sally and this is my example of the greatest Snow Level in a video game for the 2016 Winter Let's Play contest on Something Awful.

This example is taken from the Shadows of the Empire visual novel. As you can immediately see, it's no three-dimensional like its N64 counterpart.

Alright, Rogues, attack pattern delta!
Roger that!
Yeah, sure. You guys do your thing. I got this.

The snowspeeders split up and fly past the Imperial forces. The limitations of the game engine are quite obvious. The Imperial armour wait patiently while the Rebel forces fly through before triggering their movement.

Dash breaks off from the group to chase down an AT-ST on his own. As we know from Empire Strikes Back, the rest of the Rebellion are busy being involved in combat as well. We don't see this, though, as things play out from Dash's point of view. We never see Wedge trip an AT-AT, or Luke and Dax get shot down, or Luke blow one up with a grenade. That's okay, though! We're here to see Han Solo's greatest palette swap do their thing.

Ha, yeah, see that, Leebo? I just RENDARed that guy obsolete!
I'm shutting off the comm channel, sir.

Two scout walkers down, Commander.

The graphics aren't that great. The explosions definitely don't compare to the N64 version. Regardless, We take out a pair of AT-STs and that triggers the next segment of the fight.

That armour is too strong for blasters--Rogue Group, use your harpoons and tow cables on the walkers and go for the legs!
Sure thing, Rogue Leader. Moving in for attack.

Copy, Rogue Leader.

The tow cable segment here is kind of tedious. The game doesn't generate a tow cable for us to see, so really Dash just winds up driving around the AT-AT a couple of times while it stands still.

Yup.

Detach cable. Leebo? Detach cable! Leebo, are you listening?!

Yes, yes. Detaching tow cable. It was only a joke, sir. You should try telling one sometime.

Nice shot, Captain Rendar.

They're getting closer to the power generator!
Their defenses are falling. Forward, full speed! Target that shield generator: maximum power!

With that the segment ends! I figured I'd let the game speak for itself here, so I hope you can see how, even as a Visual Novel, the Battle of Hoth from Shadows of the Empire is the greatest snow level of all time!
