Our Power is Maximum! Let's Play Dragon Ball Xenoverse 1 & 2!

Dragon Ball Xenoverse was developed by Dimps (developers of such games as Sonic Rush, Kirby & The Amazing Mirror, and co-developers of Street Fighter IV), published by Bandai Namco Games, and released in early 2015 for the PS3/4, Xbox 360/One, and PC. Xenoverse is an Action RPG that plays like a fighting game where you wake up on Saturday morning, turn on Toonami, and then pretend to do all the cool moves with your buddy Goku. Actually, it's a video game where you make an original character and fight through time, so you actually do the moves with your buddy Goku. Technology is cool.

Clearly made as a game for fans of Dragon Ball, by fans of Dragon Ball, Xenoverse requires some knowledge of Z as a whole, but might still be enjoyable for newcomers. There's some costumes from the original Dragon Ball, but there's no story content to worry about from it. That said, most of the plot that happens between fights and an entire arc are missing, but knowing myself and my friends I'm doing this with we might end up explaining it, so I'd highly recommend checking out DBZ (or Kai, the version cut down for less filler) for full context if you're a newcomer to the franchise looking for the full context.

The basic plot of Xenoverse revolves around your OC (referred to in all non-game material as "Future Warrior") and Future Trunks going on Timecop adventures. Someone's been messing with the history of Dragon Ball, and it's up to us as Trunks' new best buddy and sidekick to set things straight! Along the way there'll be plenty of thrown fists, quick speed teleports, and Krillin getting the absolute shit beaten out of him. It's gonna be a fun time.

What I plan on doing:
Along with my pals Kobuddy and XainZero, we're going to play through the entire plot of Xenoverse. I own the GT DLC, so we're also definitely going to do that. God help us. Both Xenoverse games also have side-missions called Parallel Quests (or PQs), but the original Xenoverse isn't that great in comparison to the sequel. I might do a video or two on some PQs, but I make no promises.

Once again developed by Dimps and published by Bandai Namco, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 was released in 2016 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. If Xenoverse was DBZ, Xenoverse 2 is DBZ Kai, which is to say it's better in basically every regard. The fighting is more fluid, the hub world is less boring, and they fixed up pretty much every complaint that players had about the first game. Dropping the previous generation of consoles also allowed for plenty of additions to the second game that the first game didn't have, including 60 FPS gameplay on consoles, a higher variety of characters, and more Dragon Ball plot than you can shake a stick at! Hooray for next gen!

Xenoverse 2 takes place two years after the first game, and features more ridiculous time travelling with your best buddy Trunks. To say any more though would spoil the first game, so I'll come back to fix this up when we get there.

Rules!
1. Don't spoil the game/s! No posts about future game events, not even tagged. Tag posts about future DBZ events, but please make sure they aren't game related.
2. Don't spoil Dragon Ball Super! The english dub only just started and I know that's how I'm watching, so don't even make tagged posts, please. I'm sure there's other places to talk about Super.
