7 Worlds of Wrestling - a Let's Play of Fire Pro Wrestling Returns~

WHAT IS FIRE PRO WRESTLING?

Fire Pro is a long-running Japanese wrestling game franchise, known for its downright intimidating depth and customizability. The first Fire Pro game, Fire Pro Wrestling Combination Tag, was created by Japanese developer Human Entertainment and was released for PC in 1989. Human developed the games until 2000, when the license was taken over by Spike, known today as Spike Chunsoft (creators of Dangan Ropa). The final (true) entry of the series to date, Fire Pro Wrestling Returns was released in 2005 and is generally considered one of the better Pro Wrestling games ever made.

WHAT IS SEVEN WORLDS OF WRESTLING?

(I'll be providing all the art for this program)

First, some background.
Fire Pro Wrestling Returns has 500 slots for wrestlers, excluding the ones pre-programmed into the game. Not only that, the game provides extremely deep tools for customization, including an absurd level of control over how the AI for individual wrestlers behaves. Immediately after buying it, I spent about a month making custom wrestlers - I just kept making more, and more, and more, and more, and more. After about 2 months I had 7 organizations' worth of wrestlers stored up and nothing to do with them except... well, watching them fight and recording it for posterity.
In short, 7 Worlds is me improvising a fictional world of wrestling. I'll be using cutscenes/promos I make with my art and video editing to expand the world and people, but everything comes down to what the game simulates.

SO THIS IS A LET'S PLAY, BUT YOU'RE NOT PLAYING?

Inside the matches, nope! The only input commands I'll be putting into the game are setting up the matches and modifying the wrestlers occasionally. The created wrestlers will be making their own decisions in the matches.

WHAT FORMAT WILL THE SHOWS BE IN?

Most of the videos I plan to post will be 3-to-5-minute highlight collections of a few different matches. These will include text and illustrated promos or "custcenes" I draw to build the story. Here's an example!

After a few of these, I'll record a Big Show, (in wrestling terms, a PPV,) usually where title matches happen and storylines culminate. These will be a bit longer (I'm thinking anywhere between 15 and 30 minutes) - and will include full matches and voiceover in addition to whatever promos and cutscenes I include. I recorded my first attempt at this that you can watch
here, featuring a friend of mine guest-starring on commentary.

SO WHAT ARE THE TITULAR "SEVEN WORLDS?"

The "Worlds" are the Organizations to which all the wrestlers belong:
-A popular American promotion focused on entertainment, spectacle and faction wars (ACW);
-A second American promotion focused on sportsmanship and athleticism (Top 10);
-A Japanese promotion, with an even mix of both (GJPW);
-A Lucha Libre promotion, where colorful heroes fight for dire stakes (LLG)
-The most notable independent promotion where all the best indie wrestlers come to shine (DOC);
-A cult-popular, grungy independent that specializes in hardcore matches (Brickwall);
-and an MMA promotion (KLoF; this one I realize I won't pay much attention to, but it's There)

Small Shows:
Lucha Libre Globa: May Year 1 Tag Title Tournament
Lucha Libre Globa: May Year 1 Globa Title Tournament
Big Shows:
ACW: The Heat Goes On (5/Y1)

Side Note: I've already recorded some really rough, really long video episodes that I'm making available on my channel because I'm just gonna hold to them as a starting point - feel free to look at those, but I'm probably going to disregard them in the future. I'll be including the videos that represent what I'm really looking to do going forward in this (hypothetical) thread.

This project is still in the early stages, sort of nebulous, and not quite 100% where I need it to be yet, but I think I'm at least sort of on track. Hopefully looking to iron out the kinks as I go along. If any elaboration is needed on stuff, I'll definitely add it - Thoughts?
