Welcome to the prologue for the game - which loads after you idle on the start screen, if you do a second time it loads a mini-tutorial that I will show off in the tutorial post. I actually missed this the first time through and had hardly any idea what was going on in the 'big picture' for a fair whack of the game.

Alhazard glows an eerie green and looks pretty cool. Also, Bernhardt's arms raised/flourish spritework is really neat.
Legends say this sword is the key to infinite power...
Sword, lend me your power! The power to conquer this shattered continent... No... to conquer the world!
Here the music changes and you know shit's about to go down - a really good track moving from the ominous tones of the first.
Here's what the combat screen look like, more explanation on all the numbers and such once we get to fight our own battles - now can Leon get those ancient texts after suffering from an unprovoked attack?
The answer being yes. Though the poor commander didn't stand much of a chance being a tier 1 class (Warlock) versus a tier 4 class (Knight Master).
The on-field magic effects really impressed me in this game - meteor is pretty great (see it in gif form here) and the way your foes go BOOM on dying is very satisfying... but still damn you Egbert, they were just the clergy! And not even the corrupt kind!
