Items

Hey all, let's go through items since they have yet to be touched on. Most items are equipped on characters as either weapons or as accessories. Armour, boots, etc. all fill this accessory slot. But if you press Select on the equip or buy/sell menus, you'll get a brief description of the item and what it does.

For example,

Here's a brief rundown of all the items we've acquired/seen and what they do.

-Weapons-

Dagger - A traveller's knife used for self-defence. AT+1
War Hammer - A giant hammer which has one side of its head curved. AT+2
Long Sword - A long, heavy one-handed blade. AT+4
Magic Wand - A staff that focuses the magical power of its wielder. Mg Range+2, Mg Damage+1

-Accessories-

Buckler - A wooden shield reinforced by iron bars. DF+1
Shield - A large, heavy shield reinforce with iron plating. DF+2
Cloak - Durable cloth. made to withstand nature's harsh elements. DF+1, MDF+10
Chainmail - An armour made of metal rings, woven together into chains. DF+3
Dragon Scale - A light yet strong armour made from dragon scales. DF+4
Cross - A gleaming cross blessed by saintly prayers. D+2, MDF+20
Swift Boots - Boots that enable their wearer to run swiftly as the wind. MV+2, troops included
Rune Stone - An ancient stone with a mysterious inscription, "At Level 10... do you wish to begin anew...?"

So most of those items are pretty straight forward - they up your stats for the most part. But the Rune Stone... well it helps break the game wide open. What does it do? Well for anyone familiar with Fire Emblem: Awakening Second Seals, that would answer your question right there. If not, it allows you to upon reaching level 10, instead of class changing upwards to your next class - you can class change back to your choice of tier 2 class. Let's take Hein for example:

He can go down two distinct and different paths - the magery path or the healer path (and there is the sword path but for the sake of this, just go with the dichotomy). Currently our Hein is a Paladin, heading towards High Priest is my plan. But there are some great spells I'm missing out on by not going down the other path as a Wizard - so shouldn't I do both? With the Rune Stone we could. Plus there's the added bonus of being able to hire the units we've already acquired and I believe our base stats after changing, spells & summons remain the same but our aura bonuses & Mv are still reliant on our current class. Correct me if I'm wrong, goons.

New characters

So at the end of Scenario 5, we had two new characters along who are best bitching buddies! They are very different units and grow in different ways. Let's have a look and discuss these two stalwarts of masculinity, discipline and broship.

Keith
Keith is a more defensively focused Cherie, who cannot fly as far (Mv 7 vs Mv 8) but builds into some interesting class change combinations. He also gives off an extra D+2 compared to her A+2 bonus (on top of Hawk Knights usual A+1, D+1 aura). As a unit, he's solid, a flier and works well in unison with Cherie as they compliment one another - she hits hard and fast, he backs her up and forms a solid line so that she may recuperate from her initial strike. Here's his class change sheet:

So I chose to go towards Hawk Lord and then into Dragon Lord was the plan but... I could have gone Lord -> Dragon Lord for a more defensive Keith with Heal1... it's always a tough call but since I was planning on turning Cherie into a Silver Knight, it made more sense to retain a flier. Still Keith can be good no matter which way you build, though I'd advise steering clear of Serpent Lord as that is Lester's niche.

Lester
Kinda similar to Fighter, in both word and deed - Lester is pure strain of Pirate, so he can keep on sailing in the water unlike poor Fighter who's stuck on land now and forever more. Lester does well in most situations that have bodies of water though he is kinda cruddy in mostly indoor maps but it kinda goes with the territory. Use him well in water and you'll never go wrong. Here be his class change chart, yarr!

Lester has a similar route divergence to Rohga, in that he can build towards an Assassin/Sword Class which will make him as a combatant very individually strong or he can go towards marine-based combat as a Serpent Knight/Lord. Lester won't learn a great deal of spells, but he is much more combat-focused like Rohga. Though it is fun to have him as a Dragon Lord though, so him and Keith can be Dragon Bros.

Extras

In Scenario 4, aside from just flat out dying, we got most of the extra dialogue already. As getting Keith to die is an extreme hassle and not having kept my Scenario 4 save - I opt'd out of getting the extra dialogue for this. Basically Keith will stay in the north, Vargas will never charge him and the Assassins tend to come after you after killing you instead of Keith but even so, they can't kill Keith with his fliers. If you want to throw cans, now's the time because after this sentence the fiery deaths of Scenario 5 can begin!

Scenario 5

So after some testing, I can tell you the lava moves at a rate of 2 tiles every time you end your turn. 1 for the start of the enemy turn and 1 before the start of yours. Look at this battlefield line up - not dangerous at all...

It's okay guys, we can fight the forest fire with our faces! Smokey Bear taught me how!

The game really doesn't expect you to die to the fire, it's an unceremonious death just a BOOM and that's all also it causes some anachronisms such as if Hein dies, his dialogue still appears the next turn and also his comment about 'cuts and bruises'.

When Liana dies, there's a conversation:

When Fighter or Jessica dies it's a game over, but you get these screens first:

And that's all for this mini-update - if there's something you would like me to cover for next time, please let me know in the thread.
