Mystic (Knight) Quest 2: Quest Harder
Welcome Back, last time horrible luck and ineptitude in all things robbed you of the dramatic conclusion of the second boss of the game. You missed the motorcycle chase and dramatic rooftop confrontation.

Now we're in the middle of the dead sea.

New enemy, one shot kills it; no need to apply Greek Fire to the sword.

Another formation, against a... Question Mark? The Alien from The Abyss? It too dies in one shot. They and the Skeletons do about 20HP per attack, so a mob like this can take out a quarter of Mihnwu's life.

Mihnwu does not understand chemistry like Walter. Faris would not melt in water. Human bodies have a melting point well above 50F. She would be at higher risk of dissolving if she was soluble in water. Completely different mechanisms.

Pirate Booty!

Vendor Trash!

Mindflushers take two attacks to kill. I'm sure they thank you for putting an end to their misery of perpetual unlife with their face being removed from their skull.

How did they get dry clothes? Did they have zip lock bags or Space Bags?

Mihnwu is gonna smoke some rope

Thusly.

Haven't leveled up yet, but we're in prime space with free healing to do so.

These guys take two hits too. Despite being called "undead" they won't take more damage from fire.

This will come back to haunt me.

This treasure is special

It raises the Flying Dutchman.

It is at this point I realize a horrible mistake.

The nice thing about this game is that foreshadowing and things get resolved very quickly. There are total eclipses that give less shadow than this games foreshadows.

The Girl gives a wicked People's Eyebrow.

Galuf for saving me with concussive maintenance, I will kill you last.

Mihnwu is usually quick enough to act first, but I fumbled it. Siren has a 1/3 shot of casting slow, but as in the Discworld, 33% chances turn up 80% of the time.

After a couple turns Siren turns undead, fire sword does double damage now.

She hits hard, and can inflict poison.

I didn't save since getting that 2 elixir drop.

Take 2, Leveled up from 12 to 13. Sleep is bad, but not the worst she can do. This game doesn't cause bonus damage to sleeping targets, it seems.

Silence is a freebie, once you use !Spell Blade, it's used. Random factoid though; Magic Shell's Proc will fail when silenced.

Another Freebie. She isn't like the Assault Door in FFIV, or anything. She won't bust out Level Prime Death once learning my level. She does this a couple times in this push. It was a long slog, but 50 HP of healing doesn't do much when you're slowed.

Take 3 wasn't particularly special, so we jump to the fourth. Despite this looking to be a Very Bad Thing, it's actually better than being slowed.

Swing and a miss. I gave her a love tap in her living form, she countered with protect. No worries though because...

As mentioned in a parallel universe, the switch to undead wipes statuses, so she's at normal speed and defense.

The only thing worth mentioning about the third fight was I fought it in the back row. It only prolonged the suffering.

She's about half dead now.

With that blow, so is Mihnwu.

But that was enough. Not pictured: a single elixir drop while walking to Siren this time.

Final Level: 14
Deaths: 4

dropped this, it's a pretty good boost to defense.

:Insert 80s sitcom freeze-frame here:

Defense is doubled, where were you 2 minutes ago?

Mihnwu decides to play on the beach. There were no survivors.

Cold hard rod to be made into cold hard cash.

Cold hard cash to be made into ice cold brews

A retread of the first spell shop, except for this.

This is Mihnwu's loadup before shopping.

And after, 50% boost to attack, and a little less than 50% for defense.

Mihnwu buys some stuff.

I knew what it was, but didn't care. All chests must be opened.

Again, everything dies in one hit.

Sleep is just a level 2 skill, and the different tiers of skills only matter when you use it as a different class. If I had a Level 6 spell, I could use it right now.

Oh no, can Flash Gordon defeat his nemesis Mihn the Merciless!?

Mihnwu, while a despotic space tyrant and deranged lunatic carrying around his dead friends as a perpetual warning to all who would dare oppose him, will not step on flowers. He may be evil, but he doesn't need to be evil about it.

No grinding here, just teaching everyone who tried to stop Mihnwu a lesson.

I've heard of leaders getting swelled heads, but

Good thing she's already dead, because that'd of hurt.

Who else is gonna bring you
A poisoned arrow?
Who else is gonna bring you
A bottle of pain?

Action Pirate!

I miss the PSX translation, "Fall down, go boom?"
Farris go down the hooooole.

Thank you for waiting patiently for no good reason, Magica D'spell.

Who are you calling little!?

No danger from Melissa. She takes 3 hits, at the start of her next turn...

What if I refuse?

time, possibly the most broken thing about !Spell Blade.

Status magic cast by a black mage (or Summoner) has to go through the various hoops and dice rolls against enemy defenses to see if it sticks.

Spell blade does not! If they're vunerable, it hits for damage and it sticks that effect to their dumb face. Fortran will never wake up.

The only down side is if someone is immune to the effect, you won't even hit for damage. I'm unequipping the sword and immediately putting it back on to dispel the sleep effect.

A few more attacks, since Magus is now taking half damage after she got pushed into the back row, she's dead.

Sweet dreams

Final Level: 15
Deaths: 0

...Where did the arrow come from? She's got a dagger and whip on her sprite.

Mihnwu believes in stepping into dead men's shoes, or wearing missing men's hats.

...I think leaving her dead is a mercy.

Remember when I said I'd kill you last? I lied

Shock! Faris is Reina's long lost sister, Pico De Gallo!
