Chapter 3: Blue Man Gr- oh? What?

So BLUE MAGES! This back attack reminds me it doesn’t really matter because hey, goblin punches. It’s like I am playing a fiesta with one of the best starts, honestly. We start walking to Curwen town. I explain to an inquiring kid that these are lizard bad guys.

We get to town. I didn’t get Aera I realize or whatever moldwynds have in the tower. Well I could grab it after the drake I guess.

“Who is he?”
”Has a beard? A… white beard!”
He didn’t say anything about a doctor! He is learning.

Okay so I guess I am gonna have to go check out some blue magic guides an-

”I want change their clothes again. I want to change all their clothes.”

Ah. I guess in the time since setting up Blue Man/Ma’am Group the charm faded, okay. It makes sense. He’s probably slept on the idea of Blue Mages and wants to try new stuff now. “Who do you want to change?”

Lenna? “Be that magician.” OK. Monk is ok. Make Galuf a white mage? Good. Okay.

Okay lets just buy some st- “I want change all of them!” Hm Okay.

Long story short this is what we end up with.
It’s not bad at all. Bartz is a Knight with Guard. Lenna is a Monk with Learning. Our white mages are both subbing !black2. Good. Smart, kid.

“Do you want to play the piano?”
”No.”
“We’ll do it later.”

“It’s a bull!”
“Its horns are red. Is it the Red Bull?”
Yeah. The Red Bull!
Does he like card tricks?”
”No.”
He’s watched The Last Unicorn. It’s actually why he uses the term Magician instead of Wizard. He loves the movie. My wife showed it to him as she also loves it. The film holds a strange power over any girl who watched it growing up, it seems.

“Should we go up the mountain?”
"Yeah.”

It’s all going smooth with the random encounters. It’s a pretty fundamental team. (He has 0 interest in the thief aesthetic it seems.)
”Why they do that? “
“They’re trying to get us, so we got to make them run away.”

“Go back in.”

”Go down there”
He wants me to go down into the trees over the cliff there. I walk over to show him the figurative wall.

“What he looking at?”
“The trees.”
”Go down there."

“Do you think this tunnel leads down there?” I distract him with the idea that this goes down to those mysterious trees.
Yeah.”

I had learning up but forgot about them not having the MP to use Flash. Not gonna spend an ether here; didn’t have enough eyedrops anyway if it hit us all.

“What do they look like?” I prompt him.
”They look like that.” He points at the cockatrice.
“Like a bird?”
”Yeah!”

We rest up to go on I let him know there is going to be a Boss fight!
”Fox?”
“No, Boss.
“Wheres the fox?“
“No, big bad guy fight.”
”What kind?”

”Is that a bad guy?”
He points at King Tycoon’s helmet (I didn’t catch a shot of it.)
“That’s just a helmet” Then the arrow flies out and hits Lenna!
“What’s happenin?”
He doesn’t comment much on Faris’ derring-do. He is more content to watch this run in general.

“That’s the bad guy!”

”We gotta hit the bad guy all gone?”

“She’s trying to kidnap Lenna. Well… take her away. But we’ll stop her.”

Fight wasn’t super fast. Focus, Fight, Protect, Protect, Heal.

"Whoaa! He’s big!"

”He’s a BIG bad guy!” He deepens his voice when he says big to emphasize size. It is adorable. I think he picked that one up in daycare.
“Ohhh yeah. He’s a muscle-y dude, alright.”
We silence Magissa because hey white magic, and just ping away with fists and black magic. Everyone is protected to keeping up with the damage is trivial.

And we win, of course
“Big bad guys all ran away?”
“Yep!” Badguys either go all gone are run away. Very G-rated.

“No. Go back. Fight big bad guy again!”
“They already ran off! We gotta go this way.”

I don’t try to explain the poison-y nature of the flowers.
”Is that GRASS BADGUY?”

he loves the dragon grass boss. For some reason for awhile it was as arresting to him as World 2 Exdeath. He would have stuffed animals, figures, or me being both at the same time for him or his magicians to fight.

"All laughing! Grass badguy?”

”They all get on?”
"Go down there.”
Still wants to go down to those trees.

“We can’t land IN the trees, son. But near them, okay?”
He silently and begrudgingly seemed to accept this.

Next time: We do the Water Crystal.
