Chapter 6: Fire Bad Guy
Joining the run already in progress, my son and I were hitting the Fire Ship with some sweet quad summoner action. Kids are wise, in their way.
“We have to get inside to stop the crystal from breaking!”
”Get in our boat!”
Oh, also, Lenna has Learning so…

”Unicorn wears glasses?”
I realized I had no eyedrops after, but also that blind does not matter for this party at all.
”Elevator in there? Go on elevator.”
He spends a lot of the run in here wanting to use elevators. He asks about them constantly.
Going through this section as fast as possible because he wanted ELEVATORS and the conveyor belts were annoying him because they weren’t elevators.
”Nooooo! Go back!” 
”Where elevator go?”
“It goes up, into the ship.”
“A save point. There is a big bad guy ahead.”
”A big bad guy? What kind of bad guy?
“A big one! With fire!”
”Fire badguy?”
In the moving platform switch section I trigger these guys. He loves the robot badguys. He demands to see them again after. (They go down in one Shiva. Almost everything here that isn’t that one cold-absorbing enemy)
“This is the place!”
”Th’ big bad guy in here? We gonna fight him?”
“This is the Queen.”
”She(!) bad?”
I adopt a deeper voice when I read this. The one I use for the villain of this piece.
”Who say that?
“Who do you think?”
”Eck-deff say that? Where Eks-deff?”
“Whoa! Here comes the bad guy!”
”Whoa.
He spends most of this fight asking or stating that this is the fire bad guy, that we are fighting, and that the kid (Shiva, I guess?) is helping us. I cure when I need, drop Shivas otherwise.
“A fire tornado!”
”Round and round?
I explain the bad guy’s name is Liquid Flame a few times, but he doesn’t start using it for awhile. We win without any danger to us.
”It broke? We… break it?”
“The queen broke it, but Exdeath made her do it.”
”Ecks-deff?”
”She fall down? Who said that?”
“The queen did. She got hurt. Her friends will help her home.”
”Ecks-deff say that!? Where Ecks-deff? Fight Ecks-deff.”
“He’s controlling that guard, but Exdeath is still sealed away until they all break.”
“Oh no we all fell down!”
”Where where-wolf?”
“He ran away from the fire down that way, but we have to go up this way. We can’t get past those holes.” (:smith
We hit the timed escape. I didn’t get many screenshots because I was trying to go as fast as I could. I picked up all the IMPORTANT stuff (Esuna, Mantle, Main Gauche, Ribbon) and some misc stuff.
”What that music?”
“It’s the run away real fast music.” (repeat variations of this exchange for like three minutes)
”Castle on fire?”
“We gotta get out!” (Also repeat variations on this one.)
Scored Aero. The spell made him laugh. Not big chocobo proc-ing tier laugh, but still.
”What he color?”
“Grey.”
”And what else?”
“Red” (I did not get the blue magic spell off this, and wasn’t gonna fiddle with save states)
”Whoaaa what happening?”
“The castle blew up!”
”Where castle?”
He did not listen, really, when I tried to describe the other jobs. Unicorns!
He made me look at, and try to go in, the “broken castle” for a bit. Then I pointed out that the wall was gone and we can go to the Library.
”Go to library.”
