Chapter 11: Cannon Doesn’t Even Sound Like a Word To Me Anymore.
”I want to look at your game!”
“So. there was a cannon, huh,”
”Mmhm!”
“But we can’t go up to get there!”
“Mmhm. Cannon is bad. A big cannon.”
“But we need to go here first!” There needed to be a slow down the airship button so I don’t have to spend several seconds every time to stick this landing. uuuggh
”That not cannon.”
They mention that the Earth Crystal is up there with the ruins. I am narrating of course.
“Up there with cannon? you say that?
”You taking pictures on your game?
“I am,” the cmd+shift+4 then space and click is not the most subtle thing, and he caught the click and/or the camera icon.
”Mmhm.”
“Whoa! A hole!”
”We gonna be in that hole?”
”We gonna walk in that hole?”
“Uh-huh.”
”It’s a hole.”
”He got it?”
”It was hiding?”
“He got that adamantine!”
“Why?”
“To make the ship go higher.”
”Fightin turtle?”
“We are!”
Flash! … aa-aaa!
This pretty much carries the battle because we have nothing meaningful for healing.
”He make bubbles!” It isn’t effective so I go back to Blizzaras.
He points to the background.
”What they’re in”
“The meteorite.”
“Why?”
“To get the adamantite.”
”And he there too?” he indicates the Adamantoise.
“He is.”
”They’re just win?”
“Yeah”
”What they doin?”
He means that fist pump. Once it took me and my sister awhile to figure out what he was saying when he laid down and told me to put my hands up and told me I was ‘wind’. Eventually I realized, oh, I -won- and was doing the victory dance.
”See they’re running around!”
”What they’re gonna go?”
“To the cannon.”
“They gonna be in the cannon? The cannon? That not a cannon.”
”Its dark. Black! Black.
“The ship is underground.”
The explosions around us generate a lot of questions.
“Who doing that?”
“They shooting at us.”
”Why?”
“They’re trying to make us run away.”
“Cannon? Cannon doing that?

I get flamethrowers all 4 times. He asks if they are cannons. I tell him they are little ones. Faris gets Flamethrower.
”What they doing?”
I let him know that they throw/make fire. He asks a few times because, well, like I said. We got quad flamethrowers.
There’s a door?”
”And whats in that door?”
“Cannon door?
“Yeah!”
“The next fight is very hard. Can I make him a white mage?”
“No. Want him stay that costume.” (

Sooooo. The Beastmaster Bartz is subbing red. I didn’t heal after the last flamethrower fight so he starts patching people up… with 98hp cures. Ughhh. Blue Mage Faris has Black3, and so does Ninja Galuf. Ranger Lenna has a bolt bow but also Summon3 so she is gonna be all Ramuhs.
My plan is to rush it down with lightning. I have 3 lightning scrolls, but forget to throw one out for the first Ninja action, reflexively using thundara so one of the missiles gets off on the ninja and pops him with Old. They both explode to the next Ramuh though. The scrolls deal like 1.5Kish!
”That our ship? We not on it?” He is pointing to our airship in the background. Good eye!
“Yeah, that is our ship over there.”
“Why we not on it?”
“Because we are fighting the big cannon here!”
“It’s the biiig shot!”
”Why he do that?”
“He’s trying to blast us away! Did it work?”
”No.”
I have to choose between wasting time trying to heal up with cure of all spells or just keep trying to blitz him down. I opt to just keep pumping out Thundaras, blitz whips and Ramuhs.
It works. He doesn’t get a second blast off.
”That was a really huge bad guy!”
"Gotta get in there! Gotta in the big cannon!”
“I thought we might lose, but we didn’t!”
”We’re not?
“Nope!”
The biggest meta news to come out of this session is that the Beastmaster got enough AP to get !Control. If I can get a Blue Mage to stick around long enough to get !Blue I will finally have White Wind whenever I want after the ruins. Even if he swaps me out at least I have learning so I can grab it from one of those Fans for later. See how it goes… next time.
