Chapter 13: Looking for Grandpas With Help From Grandpas.
So this is the party.
I try to hit the landing pad. ”No don’t go in there!”
“We have to ask Grandpa and the kid for how to find Galuf!” he relents.
“They left us a note!”
“Grandpa and the kid?”
”Where they go?
“Do you think they went in the hole?”
”Yeah.”
”Grandpa and the kid!”
So Geomancers ARE Santas. Hm.
I read him the plan to go to the other world.
”Who whose world?”
“The guy with the red beard.”
”Who has a red beard?”
“The other grandpa. The guy we are looking for.”
This gets his attention.
”And they’re bad guys?”
“They are! They’re floating bombs!”
I do massed Thundaras and summon Ramuh. They heal but I do more damage
But only SOME of them die on the last hit. Bah! We end up going into the back row and blocking until they all explode. I have to blow a hi-potion.
But we win! I let him know they try to explode at us.
”And the bomb is gone!”
“The red one”
I head off to an inn to recover.
”That was a long fight!”
“There are monsters in here!”
”Why?”
“I’m not sure why a monster is in here. Guarding the place?”
Titan fight doesn’t really last long enough for him to comment much. I blitz with stalactites and the blind bow. We barely survive the last shake.
“Now he’ll help us!”
“Land on the grass!”
“Right here?”

“Lenna.” I point to the portrait. I have to go into the menu and show him the sprite though. Still might not have gotten it.
“We have to help him!”
I’ve warned him each time that these might be hard fights and that we might lose, this one?
This guy totally stomps our team. Every time he does Aqua Rake, then Blaze. If you are asking why I didn’t do weird inventory things to change the RNG seed or something the answer is that I am clearly a scrub casual.
After we wipe 3 times I ask him if we should change guys, and he agrees.
I go through them one by one. Before I can even describe this one he is ”I want him be that magician.” I do NOT argue with him.

I read aloud the names of the jobs going down the list. God please don’t let him pick something bad.

I finish him off with a gill toss for like 2.8K damage or something insane.

I point to the three glowing dots in the sky that follow this shot, “They’re flying!”
”That them!” He has a grin between the flying dudes and the upbeat music.
“We’re at Galuf’s World.”
