We spend a little time looking at the map because he wants to see it. He asks where we are. I show him. Where Exdeath’s castle is. I show him. He wants to go there, but we need the dragon to fly there I explain. ”Where dragon?” And I show him. We head to Bal Castle but…
”I want them be all dragons.”
“I want them be aaaaall dragons.”
“I want them all to jump.
Oh son no spears are so expensive.
”I want to look at these dragons.”
“I want to look at them.”
“See! See! Look at these dragons!”
He looks them over for nearly a minute while I hastily type notes.
“How many spears can I afford.” I wonder aloud, I wasn’t really addressing him with it. But.
”A lot!”
“10 spears!” He holds up 10 fingers.
”I want a lot of spears. 
Dang, kid.
”The all jump! 
I end up fighting some dudes around here to afford a second wind spear.
”New bad guy?”
“Sort of.”
”What is he?”
“Some sort of weird anemone.”
I actually get enough gil to buy another wind spear by the time I hit Bal. I leave the dancing dagger on Faris.
”What that song?”
“Its the castle song.”
“That castle’s song?” He seems to mean to ask if it is this particular castle’s song.
“Yes it is.”
”Gonna be wet.”
“They are.” I grab the great sword because well sure.
”Chocobos in there?” He has the H now.
“Thats actually a moogle”
”Chocobo. It’s co-co-bo.”
”Chocobo right there.” He points to the moogle.
“That’s a moogle.”
“He coming with us?”
“I’m afraid not.”
Galuf says something about defeating Exdeath.
”Defeat Ecks-deff?”
“Yes!”
”And Ecks-deff a bad guy? I want fight Esck-deff. Talk to Ecks-deff.”
“We need to go to the dragon though”
“No.”
“We need him to fly us there.”
”Why?
“We can’t fly.”
”See dragon over there have big shadow”
“He no want to do that?
“it’s his grass.”
“His grass?
“His food.”
“But he no want to eat the grass?” He picked up on the head shaking.
“She’s going to eat some to show him it’s good”
”His eyes.”
“You like his eyes?”
”Uh-huh.” Those wee yellow pixels.
”See he better?”
“He is!”
I head over to EXDEATHS CASTLE. Because well it is what he wants.
”Whyyyy red?”
“it’s a barrier.”
”it’s blocking our way?
And we can’t get in?”
“These towers are making it.” I indicate the barrier towers.
”These things doing it? Stop that. I want to stop that.”
He demands to know who is responsible for these towers.
”Who do that?”
“Exdeath!”
“Someone here might know how to get in.”
”Who?”
“A turtle.”
”A turtle?”
“An earthquake!”
”Whose doing that! Whose making shaking?” He asks a few times.
“Who do you think?”
“Who’s doing booming?”
“Him!”
”HE was doing it?”
“Who was doing red?”
“Him.”
”And blue?” I have no idea
”Fiiiiight Ecks-deff!”
”I want to break barrier!
I want to fight red.”
He is spoiling for a fight. I am going to tell him Atomos is the Red when we see him for sure.
“These guys are going to try and break the barrier. Should we help them?”
”Yes!”
”We’re on our boat?”
“Well, it isn’t ours.”
“Not on our boat?”
“It’s his boat.” I point to Xexat.
”What that song?” He loves this song. You know what’s playing now.
“Is it battle on the big boat?”
”NO! It’s battle on the big BRIDGE!” 
He asks where it is coming from, the music, as we head up. I tell him from up above.
”Who’s doing that song?” he keeps asking.
I beat all of these guys because they have 1000gil a pop.
“They fighting!?” When Enkido’s blue sprite pops he ask if it is him doing the song.
“No.”
“He’s doing it!” I point out Gilgamesh.
”Gilgamesh doing that?” His pronunciation is pretty close, really.
“Yes. It’s his song!”
“I like that song.”
“Magicians want to fight him.”
“The magicians want to fight him?”
”YES.”
”Robot helping us?”
“He’ll help protect us!”
He sees the deflect.
“Uses his hand?”
“He blocks attacks!”
“Now he here?”
We just jump a lot mostly. Its… really effective. This is simple.
Not ONLY jumping. I brilliantly have Lenna follow up with Titan to coup-de-grace him but well he has wings. Galuf lands on him immediately after anyway.
Hey. Death Claw is MY trick. Jerk. Golem stops me from getting dunked at critical HP, and Faris hits him hard with Vampire as a result.
He Claws me again but we get along fine really. He flees.
The music ends and Gilgamesh is swept away.
”Dragon save him?”
“He did! He grabbed on to the tail!”
He of course wants us to keep going. Xexat saying we are almost to the castle is blood in the water. One day we will get o that castle again, kid. I might loot Surgate ‘off camera’ if only because I don’t think he’ll have the patience for faffing about yet another generic castle.
