Bit by bit I'm going down the dungeon. But y'know, it would be nice if I didn't have to keep going to the stairs all the time. I mean, I'm a wizard. I can just teleport.

With this The Orb of Fate is an artifact that allows me to teleport between levels. Artifacts come with four alignments: lawful, neutral, chaotic, and unaligned. Anybody can use unaligned artifacts, but only characters of an artifact's alignment can use it. This is why being neutral is essential for wizardry; if I wasn't neutral, I wouldn't be able to levelport.

I get blasted by the orb of fate because it's actually the Valkyrie class artifact, and I'm not a Valkyrie; every time I invoke it I'll take a bit of negligible damage. Also, it acts as a luckstone, so our luck won't time down. This actually bites me in the ass because I didn't know I could pray for spellbooks if my luck isn't very high. fffffuuuuuuuck

I find a throne and sit on it in hopes of a wish. There's another artifact that I want, but no luck. There will be other thrones, but the odds of a wish are quite low.

Some aimless wandering, but damn check out that identify spell

The major benefit of high luck is that I can write scrolls that I haven't identified. In this case, charging for my marker. I'll need to get another marker soon since you can only charge them once.

The level with the portal to the Quest. This will give me my class artifact, which is branchport. It's like levelport, but between places like the main dungeon, the Mines, and Sokoban. Combining that with levelport and teleport control will pretty muchlet me navigate to anywhere in the entire dungeon within 5 moves. Wizards!

I find the portal, and there's a bunch of baddies to kill. There's also a lake at the south - if I can get water walking boots I'll be able to trivially blank spellbooks here.

Eating a wraith corpse gives you a level. Useful! They don't have a 100% drop rate though.

I'm not sure how the apprentices managed to die The dude also talked to us when we went and stood on his chest. Leave me alone, old man!

No I wouldn't, I can just teleport past all the obstacles

He booted me out! We need to be level 14 before we can start the Quest. My hurt feelings are assuaged slightly when I find this nearby altar to make some holy water.

Heading down a bit more (since I can just levelport back when I hit level 14) I find two rings of searching in the same room. Thanks?

Must eat more wraiths.

We find a zoo! Zoos are full of creatures for us to murder. And also a unicorn to throw gems at.

Identify spell for president 2016

I break into a vault full of gold. But one of the squares of gold has a portal underneath...

Those numbers just above us are from our Orb of Fate's extrinsic warning. It gives a number to enemies based on their danger level. I'm actually lacking any damage spells at this point (spells expire and must be re-read every 20000 turns) so I'll open the door just to peek and then leave.

FUCK MIND FLAYERS i'm out

Invoke the orb and let's bounce

The potion shop I neglected to show off earlier. I didn't have teleport control when I visited this place earlier and it would have been a real risk to pick things up to ID them, since shopkeepers are extremely burly muscled men who will kick your face in if you steal their things.

I have a stash at the Minetown altar, but I will probably move it to the main branch temple a few screenshots up. That's the black and grey one with the yellow @ symbol (priest) and enemies will not go into a temple while you are in it (only if it's co-aligned, I think).

ah fuck no come on dude don't, i don't have enough energy to teleport

goddamn sack of ass shit, this is why I hate mind flayers, they unidentify your items and eat your intelligence. Luckily (really fucking luckily) I was wearing a hat which deflects 90% of the flayer's mind eating attacks, but as you can see his mind attack hits 5 times per round EVEN WHEN I HAVE EXTRINSIC SPEED. YOU CAN'T GO ANY FASTER.

A unicorn horn clears the intelligence loss, but my items still got unidentified It will be a huge pain in the ass to re-identify them all.

haha wait no im a wizard its literally one spell to get it all back

Our force bolt and cure sickness spells have been forgotten. I can just re-read the spellbooks to get them back, but you can only re-read them a certain number of times before the ink fades and the spellbook blanks. I might keep cure sickness forgotten though - if you cast a forgotten spell it fails and confuses you. Confusion is beneficial because it makes scrolls have unintended effects, some of which I'll be using entirely intentionally because they're beneficial and I can't get their effects elsewhere.

Back to the Mines, and straight to the bottom of them.

There's not much here aside from some gems that we don't need.

Next time... I dunno, I'll find something to do.
