Some mild progress in everyone's favourite NetHack simulator

I finally decide to make myself a stash on level 12 of the dungeon, inside the temple. Teleportation makes this very fast, but I didn't invoke the Orb to levelport because I didn't know what level the temple was on. Also, I can't climb stairs when my weight is too high.

I deliberately stand on a trap door I find though, and somehow get plonked directly into the temple. Score!

And what do you know, there's a doorway leading nowhere just above the altar. I dig it out a little bit, engrave Elbereth, and instant stash! I dump a large amount of crap into two boxes - one box to hold all my spellbooks (seriously I kept losing them last time it was so annoying) and one to hold everything else I find. I'm still bumping up against my weight limit though - that's the price of carrying around a bag of holding, the Orb of Fate and a pickaxe in open inventory.

Elves have a chance to grant sleep resistance when eaten, and "You feel wide awake!" is that intrinsic being granted. This elf came in a tin. Don't ask how he got there.

I find a spellbook! and it's shit. I can blank it and write another spell but I am running low on marker charges. I also get a free blank book.

I get an actual good spellbook this time, magic mapping. I then spend the next few sessions completely forgetting to use it. It owns though

I donate about 20000 gold to the priest - if you look at my Defence you can see it being increased.

The reason I'm spending time in the temple is because I want to get spellbooks from prayer - however, I have no way of checking my luck, which needs to be high enough to let me get spellbooks but not so high as to get me Crowned, which increases the time between when I can pray by roughly 10 times. That is a lot of times. It probably doesn't matter since I'd just sacrifice to get the timer to go down - as a wizard I can cast Create Monster and sacrifice the result. Fuckin wizards man, too good

Turn Undead lets me revive corpses. Motherfucking wizards, man. I have to level up clerical to use it but that isn't hard.

I find another amulet of badness crutch. It's cursed but it still does its job. I won't put it on yet though, because if I pray while wearing it my god will uncurse it instead of giving me cool toys.

Chasing succubi around for levels. Massively more efficient than trying to kill things for experience.

Give that back! There's a '1' next to my level on the status bar - that's how much XP I need to get that level back. I kill one thing and the level is mine again.

Passive teleport control! I can finally ditch that ring I've been wearing up to this point.

Scroll of amnesia. You know, the major benefit of the identify spell is not having to avoid this scroll, it's being able to get rid of it as soon as you find it. I hate amnesia scrolls so much because they unidentify your items, much like a mind flayer. That flayer in Fort Ludios is going to cause me some grief, I know it.

Leveling up skill categories is done by casting skills of that category. In my case, invisibility for escape skills. Also, I'm letting that nurse hit me while I'm naked and unarmed to gain permanent increases to my maximum health. Useful!

nice spellbook

After uncursing all my stuff I come to the Medusa level. Here's the shit part: it's full of water, and I haven't found a pair of water walking boots yet. I have to trawl the dungeon until I find one, or levitation boots (but I want water walking) or a levitation spellbook, or levitation potion (which could expire without warning).

So I hit up Sokoban, maybe I will find some boots in here. This is level 1.

This is me having finished level 1

This is level 2. This particular generation of level 2 is the hardest Sokoban puzzle in the game so I just fuckin quit I'll do it later
