Mission 3: The Blue Hunter

Yep. The entire mission took place before the title card this time.

Axel returns to Tesla Reich. Lemon Browning is waiting for him, and chides him for his late arrival. Vindel and the advance team have already left. Everything looks to be going to plan - except for the disappointing failure to claim the Excellence. Axel mutters that they're probably better off without it, but doesn't elaborate when Lemon asks.

Changing the subject, he asks if there's been any word of their enemies. It turns out that they're moving faster than expected; Lemon lost contact with the Parison Corps only a short time ago. She laughs at the thought; maybe the time for their reckoning is at hand? Axel doesn't share her amusement, saying that they ought to step up the timetable instead of taking an all-or-nothing gamble like this.

Lemon: "Now this is unusual. Nothing ventured, nothing gained... isn't that what you told me? And besides, I'm looking forward to seeing the other side."
Axel: "You're enjoying this. Why am I not surprised?"
Lemon: "Why, indeed..."
Axel: "You're the one who's acting strange, Lemon. Even if she is over there..."
Lemon: "Don't tell me you're not curious? It's scientific interest. That's all."
Axel: "....."

Lemon: "At any rate, I have faith in the Numbers. My children have already made all the preparations we need, I'm certain."
Axel: "The dolls? I think you have too much of a soft spot for them. Don't forget the First Jumper. The same fate might lie in store for us..."
Lemon: "Hah... you've never liked them, have you? I put my heart and soul into this last. Just once, I'd like you to recognize that."
Axel: "Number 17? Your most advanced doll... But just in terms of piloting skill."

Axel: "But she's not alone, at that... Lemon, go on without me."
Lemon: "!? What are you..."
Axel: "There's no way in hell I'm showing the enemy my back. If he gets any stronger, he'll be a threat - no, something far worse."
Lemon: "Don't tell me... you're not planning on coming?"
Axel: "Did you forget in all the excitement of being chased here? I have a score to settle."

Axel: "The ghosts are here... as always, devouring all in their path..."
Lemon: "The Federation's suppression squadron. The Beowulves!"

And now, probably the most famous addition to the Original Generations remake. What you saw up to now was more or less the opening scene of the original GBA game. The scene more or less ended here.

Axel: "The Gespenst Mark III. Looks like he's determined to haunt us to the very end."
Lemon: "He came all the way here. 'Obsession' doesn't begin to describe it."
Axel: "It's fate... once we were on that mission together, this was inevitable."
Lemon: "Yesterday's friend is today's enemy, right?"
Axel: "We were never going to get along. We both knew that."

???: "You will not escape... you, who sow discord... in the world... I will build in its place... a world of silence..."
Axel: (Is he even worse than the last time we fought??)
???: "You will create... an undesirable world... and so... you must be purged..."

Lemon: "Th-these readings...!?"
Axel: "He's changed. Something happened to him while I was away."
Lemon: "We saw the same the other day. His mech has changed as well..."

???: "You... will not become pure life... I will... yes, I must..."
Axel: "We seek the harmony found in chaos. What are you hoping to do, with a power like that?"
???: "Creation... and for the unwanted world... destruction..."

???: "Khkhkh... heheh... heheheheheh... creation and destruction, destruction and creation... to destroy creation... and create from destruction..."
Axel: "Tch... I get the picture already. You're a monster..."

Lemon: "Axel, what are you doing!?"
Axel: "I told you. I'm settling a score."
Lemon: "Wait! We're supposed to jump together!"
Axel: "I've got a bad feeling about this. He's a real threat. I don't think he's even human anymore."
Lemon: "A bad feeling? About the Beowulves? Or..."
Axel: "Not just them. Somebody needs to make sure Lykeios is destroyed once we're through. I'm not leaving anything to chance. Not with an irregularity like him at our backs."

Lemon: "Why are you always so stubborn... just don't be late. I forbid it. Understand?"
Axel: "Get out of here!"
Lemon: "This side and the other are different. That goes for Beowulf as well. Don't forget it, Axel!"

Axel: "Beowulves... no, Gespenst Mk. III... I'm cutting my ties to this world, and you're the last one. Here I come...!"
???: "All units... commence attack."

Axel: "I'm taking your head, Kyosuke Nanbu!"
Kyosuke: "I will crush you..."

So. That happened.

The first part of this segment was more or less the same as the GBA intro. This one's a little longer; the stuff with the R originals wasn't there, obviously, so the opening bit about Axel being late and how it's too bad that he didn't capture the Excellence is new. Mentioning "Number 17" is also new.

At the end of the scene the Beowulves appear, Lemon leaves, and Axel yells about Beowulf and the Gespenst Mk. III and rushes them. Fade to white, roll opening credits. The pilot never speaks and isn't mentioned by name.

Now, he "speaks" (if you can call it that) quite a bit, and you get to see his face. People who played the original or SRW Impact would recognize Evil Kyosuke's facial markings right away and commence speculation. Everybody else gets to wait a few more missions.

Despite having just seen the GBA intro, we do have two more new missions before we finally reach OG2 Mission 1.
