The Isurugi man confirms that the Angelg is a company design: their bid for the contract on the next-generation Federation flying mech, hence the secrecy. The man also agrees to forward all of Lamia's employee documentation and test results. He follows this up with a request: why not take the Angelg aboard the Shirogane to perform its data collection? Lee can think of it as a special request from Mitsuko Isurugi herself...

Lee has a very good reason why not: they're in the middle of an operation! His mood doesn't improve when the company rep tries to bribe him; he flatly states that he has no interest in boosting Isurugi's profits, or in creating a conflict of interest between his duty and their wishes.

Furthermore, Lee adds, there's the matter of the news from the other day - Isurugi wouldn't be supporting the DCs on the sly once again, now would they? The rep protests that his company suffered the most from the attack, but Lee is ready for that as well: perhaps they'd care to submit to an audit to determine just how much they suffered?

But as it happens, an audit is already underway. Covertly, of course, and being overseen by Major General Kenneth Garrett. Lee grinds his teeth at this level of corruption from a man who's supposed to be a cornerstone of the Earth's defenses, but realizes that he has no choice in the matter - or in the matter of hosting Isurugi's mech on his ship, as that happens to be an order from Kenneth as well. The Isurugi rep thanks him for his cooperation and cuts the line.

Lee: "You heard the man, Lieutenant. The Angelg and Ms. Loveless are in your care."
Kyosuke: "Are you sure about this? We still haven't run the full check on her identity."
Lee: "Your job isn't to question my orders, Lieutenant, it's to follow them."
Kyosuke: "....."
Lee: "I'll say this once, Lieutenant. Whatever you may have grown used to aboard the Hagane, you're on my ship now. Insubordination and violations of protocol will not be tolerated. Tell that to your subordinates as well."
Kyosuke: "Sir."

In the original, the scene ended here.

Lee: "Now, for the time being, we'll be returning to Langley."
Kyosuke: "Langley? What about the mission?"
Lee: "What did I just say, Lieutenant?"
Kyosuke: "Sorry..."
Lee: "Never mind. The DC remnants are more active than we expected. This is likely to be a long-term engagement. Commander Kenneth and the staff at Langley didn't take that into account, so we won't engage until we are fully supplied..."

Lee: "...Now, do you have any objections?"
Kyosuke: "No, sir."
Lee: "Then you're dismissed."

As you've probably noticed, Lee is a bit of a jerk. He was much more of one in the original; the remake makes an effort to rehabilitate him with things like this added exchange with Kyosuke to make him still strict, but fairer than his first incarnation.

In the hangar, Excellen comments on how Kyosuke seems to attract test pilots and bizarre prototypes to him. Animal magnetism, maybe? Kyosuke protests that it's not his fault, although even he's hard put to deny that there's a pattern forming.

Bullet's been looking over the Angelg, and has some concerns about what he's found. Without a doubt it's a high-performance mech, but the generator and armaments are something he's never seen before. Excellen suggests that it's only natural if it's supposed to replace the Huckebein as the next-generation mech for the rank and file; wouldn't you pull out all the stops if you wanted to win the contract? That's not really Bullet's point, though: it's nothing like the Lion, Isurugi's current mech line. Kyosuke's thinking along the same lines, as the Angelg is more like a super robot than a PT or AM. Combined with the Valsion incident the other day, Isurugi's stories don't add up.

Lamia: "Is there a problem with my mech?"
Bullet: "!"
Excellen: "Whoa. So, you're the one..."

Lamia: "Yes. I am the Angelg's test-est... pi-ilot... Lamia Loveless."
Lamia: (Huh? What's...)
Bullet: (That's a weird speech pattern... is that a new fad in the colonies?)

Excellen: "See, Bullet? She's just like I told you."
Bullet: "What? Oh, uh... r-right, she sure is."
Lamia: (What? Could my identity already have been---)

Kyosuke: "I have a question. Why were you conducting tests alone in that airspace?"
Lamia: "Company ord-er-ers... I was just follow-owing instructions."
Kyosuke: "...?"
Lamia: (Why can't I speak properly...?)

Excellen: "Say, what's that accent? Where are you from?"
Lamia: "....."
Excellen: "Wait, are you doing that thing where you act like a cartoon character?"
Lamia: (This woman...)
Bullet: "C'mon, Lieutenant. Didn't you read the documentation? She's from the colonies."

In the original Excellen asks if she's from Wonderland, making Lamia worry that she knows something about her.

Lamia: "Yes, that's qui-ite right. Hohohoho."
Bullet: (H-how can she laugh with that expression...)
Lamia: (Ugh... that confirms it. My language unit must have shorted in the jump!)

Excellen: "Oh, but I see trouble on the horizon."
Lamia: (Did she notice...?)
Excellen: "Mhmhm... Lammy, sweetie, could you hold still for juuuust a moment?"
Lamia: "Is there so-omething on my face?"
Excellence: "No, a little more to the south... Yep. You really put Garnet to shame..."
Lamia: "...South?"
Bullet: "Garnet? What does she have to do with... wait. E-Excellen, you can't just go up to somebody and---!?"

Excellen: "And what? I didn't say anything. I didn't know your face could turn that color red, by the way."
Bullet: "Ugh..."
Excellen: "Oh, c'mon. Nothing to be ashamed of."
Bullet: "Wh-what are you...!?"
Lamia: "Who is Garnet-et and why would she be asha-amed?"
Bullet: "N-no, you don't need to... huh?"

it is a boob joke

with boing-boing puns that i am not going to try and render in english

you are welcome

Excellen: "Ooh, is that a nosebleed I see before me? But just think, now we have the glamorous beauty, the shy boy, and the brooding man. We've almost got a full set!"
Kyosuke: "I don't brood."
Excellen: "You're no fun."
Lamia: (I... don't get this woman.)

Excellen: "Anywaaaay... glad to meet you, Lamia."
Lamia: "Yes."
Lamia: (An unusual woman. I can't judge her by appearance. And likewise, Kyosuke Nanbu... I'll need to be careful with him.)

Kyosuke: "We should introduce ourselves, too. I'm the ATX team leader, Kyosuke Nanbu. Lieutenant."
Lamia: (The ATX team... the precursor to that unit. And the AAA-class target, Kyosuke Nanbu... Beowulf. Completely by accident, I've already accomplished Phase 2.)

Bullet: "I'm Ensign Brooklyn Luckfield. Call me Bullet."
Excellen: "Try not to tempt him with your feminine wiles, okay, Lamia?"
Lamia: "....."
Lamia: (Brooklyn Luckfield... I have data for him as well. The problem is the one whose data is missing... this woman.)

Excellen: "And I'm Excellen. Lieutenant Excellen Browning. Nice to meetcha!"
Lamia: "!"
Excellen: "Is something wrong?"
Lamia: (Browning... her? No, it couldn't be...)
Excellen: "Um... I don't think it's that weird of a name."

Lamia: "If I may as-ask a question, Lieutenant... do you-ou have family?"
Excellen: "Family? Just me and Papa, I guess."
Lamia: (Just a coincidence. But, something feels similar about them...)

Excellen: "Oh, one more thing. We have a rule here on the team. You have to call me 'Miss Exy.' Got it?"
Lamia: "Understo-ood, Miss Exy."
Excellen: "Mhmhmm... we're going to get along just fine."
Kyosuke: "Don't pick on her. In any case, Ms. Loveless... we'll be working together from now on."
Lamia: "Yes. Tha-ank you."

Lamia: (But what am I going to do about this speech problem...)
Kyosuke: (So that's the prototype's pilot... something's strange about her. I have a bad feeling that something's coming.)

So, Lamia Loveless has a speech issue, but not the one shown here. What she actually does is pile on a lot of excessive (and formal/submissive) verb suffixes at the end of phrases de gozaimasu.

It's bordering on incoherence, hence the pauses in the middle as Lamia thinks OH GOD WHY CAN'T I STOP. Imagine you're reading a really crappy, really weeaboo fan translation by some guy who leaves half the text untranslated for "accuracy," and you'll have the general effect. Atlus localized it as her voice skipping, which I'm also doing here because seriously.

Our mystery friends meet on a submarine somewhere.

A reaction has been detected from the vicinity of Alabama, in the North American continent - at least according to the latest report from "Rose." The timing is odd, but the energy levels at the time of their jump were far beyond expected limits. The man is prepared to pull the plug and move on to their fallback plan, but his counterpart urges patience - unlike the Neverland, the mechs themselves made the jump successfully, and Rose has been helping behind the scenes as well.

That said, she worries about the possible effects on her child's nervous system - she's very delicate, after all. The man is unimpressed, saying that they should focus their efforts on finding their other lost jumper. The woman replies that her daughter is highly reliable, much more so than him.

(Don't disappoint me, W17...)
