Going forwards.

Welcome to Train Simulator 2015, a game I own because I bought trains vs zombies 1 for £1 so they gave me a multigigabyte file to keep it in.

There's a lot of modes, mostly about driving trains or buying new trains

This is the scenario selection screen, you can see the duration (always a lie), difficulty (a lie unless you want to be a perfect driver) and various other tidbits. Let's go with part 1.

Train Simulator has...

...a lot of DLC

There are probably many safer places to be than inside a train, imho

This is the main character of this mission, the EMD AEM-7 Amtrak 5. It can go forwards and backwards on rails, at many speeds (usually fast)

I took a picture of the cockpit at rest but I lost it, I'll touch on the controls in a bit when the next pic of the cockpit comes up.

Billboards are hype for trains.

Don't cry for him he's already dead.

soon.

I leave the station and play around with camera angles a bit. This one gives some epic sweeping shots of your train going by when there is not a bush in the way.

Like that. I've been going at full speed up until just before here so I'm now slowing down to stop at Bristol Track 1

This is the cockpit view that gives the best simulation of being the driver of a train. Let's touch on the important buttons here.

1. Nothing really important here other than that thing that looks like a target. That tells me how the weight of the train is distributed. If it is red then I am going too fast or breaking too hard and am probably going to fall off the tracks
2. The red lever controls acceleration. The blue lever controls whether I am going forwards or backwards. The black lever controls the brakes.
3. From top left:
- Windscreen wipers
- Headlights
- The button that disconnects you from the powerlines DO NOT PRESS THIS
- Let passengers in/off
- Sander???
- Horn (spoiler there is no more penalty for improper horn usage)
- Bell

4. I think the big button is the dead man's switch. It flashed every now and again but I didn't press it

5. Various camera angles.

I stop at bristol track 1 and bumble around trying to figure out how to load passengers (in trains vs zombies it did it itself when you stopped at a platform - a convenience they patched out in TS2015)

After passengers finish loading I find that I cannot move. While trying to figure out how to load passengers I have pressed to disconnect the power, and now the train will not go even after I reconnect. I have to start again.

While I get back to where I was (in quicker time :smuggo I appreciate the idea that in america there are apparantly giant billboards of the flag

I also sneer at inferior private transport that is probably NO HELP in a zombie crisis.

This train has some dork named Jimmy who drives it. He's concerned about the green tint to the sky. I set course for the next station.

Jimmy

What a man.

Yup this is definitely america.

After I load passengers on it a storm brews, I am forced to turn on the wipers. On the way to the next station things get a little story heavy

Nice shirt

The rain makes the low textured scenery hard to see.

This game has good visual humour.

On the other side of the train there is a warehouse on fire but the screenshot of it did not work.

Wait, what the....

ZOMBIES!

ZOMBIES!!

There was text here about how I'd successfully stopped at the station and would now need to move on.
