Before long, the sick feeling Excellen's been having intensifies; something is coming.
Now Lamia picks something up: a distortion in space. But that technology shouldn't exist on this side! Eita picks up gravitational anomalies all around, in rapidly increasing number...
Lamia: "Those are teleport signatures! Be careful!"
Excellen: "Huh!?"
Kyosuke: "Teleport... you said?"
Lamia: (But this reaction... it's not our main force!)
Excellen: "Ugh...! Wh... what is this...?"
Tetsuya: "Steel 2 to all units! Defensive perimeter!"
Ryusei: "Wh... what the hell is that!?"
Nobody knows what to make of the new arrivals - not even Lamia, or Echidna, who wonders if they've been drawn by the Mechanoid. Latooni has no data on their design; they could be Aerogater machines, maybe? Rai and Ryusei discount that at once; they look nothing alike, and these are more like movie monsters than anything. Whatever the case, they had to come from somewhere, but Kyosuke doubts it was the ruins.
"...You... will not... awaken..."
Excellen: "!"
Kyosuke: "Hm? It spoke!? People, did you pick that up?"
Ryusei: "Huh!? What are you talking about?"
Bullet: "...I didn't hear anything."
Kyosuke: "What...!?"
Nobody else has heard a thing, and Lamia double-checks the Angelg's flight recorder just to be certain. Only Kyosuke and Excellen were able to hear the voice.
Archibald seems to take this in stride; whatever these are, they're definitely not the Mechanoid - although they may well be here looking for it. He orders a withdrawal, as this is more than they'd planned for and they'll have another chance, another day.
Tetsuya is about to order pursuit...
...When the unknowns begin attacking the ruins. Daitetsu orders the PTs to focus on them; they'll have to let others worry about following the DCs. Everybody prepares for combat.
Excellen isn't feeling well at all, but says she'll be able to pilot. But Kyosuke feels fine... what was the voice they heard?
