New guns:

Tier 1:

- Silenced SMG: Very high rate of fire, higher damage and less accurate than the old-style Uzi.

- Chrome Shotgun: Slightly tighter spread than the old-style shotgun, so it has a slightly longer effective range.

Tier 2:

- Sniper's Rifle: It's really nice for taking out Special Infected from range in the more open maps.

- AK-47: Most powerful of the assault rifles, but also the least accurate. With the Laser Sight upgrade it becomes as accurate as the other rifles, but still has high recoil and spread when fired on full auto.

- Dessert Rifle: 3 shot burst rifle so it is very accurate, especially on the move. The major flaw is that it empties it's ammo three times faster than the other guns due to the burst-fire. By itself that isn't so bad, but combined with the gun having the longest reload time means you're an easy meal for infected if caught reloading, hence the name.

- Combat Shotgun: It's the Tier 2 equivalent of the Chrome Shotgun. Perfect for Cr0wning Witches of all flavours.

Secondary Weapons (Pistol slot):

- Magnum: The classic Deagle and no, you can't dual-wield. Kills all regular infected in a single shot regardless of difficulty and is capable of killing Chargers, Hunters, Jockeys and Smokers in a single headshot. It's even good against Witches, stunning them if the first shot is a headshot and if you shove her straight away she'll be stunned again. Just don't fire more than three shots! You don't fire it slower when incapacitated either, making it a good weapon for buying time when you're down.

- Melee Weapons: Axe, Tonfa, Guitar, Machete, Baseball Bat, Frying Pan. Hit dudes with thing until they fall down. Chainsaw is special because it has limited uses (due to fuel) but it is ultra powerful and has the highest rate of fire of melee weapons, just don't use it on the Tank or stationary Witches.

Special Weapons:

- Grenade Launcher: It's a grenade launcher, you can figure it out. Can't refill the ammo so when you're out that's it. Stumbles anything it doesn't kill except for Tanks and Chargers.

- M60: 150 bullets. No reloads. No refills. Same rate of fire and recoil as the AK and it kills all regular infected in a single shot like the Magnum. It's the rarest weapon, officially spawning in only three of the eight campaigns.

Old Stuff:

Pump Shotgun: Ol' reliable herself. Reserve ammo reduced from 128 to to 56, so you have to make every shot count. Same deal as the old auto-shotty, fires more pellets per shot with a wider spread than the Chrome Shotgun.

- Uzi: Very accurate when fired in bursts, but not much stopping power and has a lower rate of fire compared to the Silenced SMG. The Uzi gained reserve ammo, the amount is now 650 compared to 480 in L4D1.

- Tactical Shotgun: The old auto-shotty. Now carries less reserve ammo and does less damage. It has a wider spread than the Combat Shotgun and does less damage per pellet, but fires more pellets per shot.

- M16 Assault Rifle: Highest rate of fire of the rifles, but also the weakest. In terms of overall ability it is well balanced between the accuracy of the Desert Rifle and the power of the AK-47.
