Vigagi: "Hmph. They took all the worthwhile units with them. This list is all of your remaining machines, Jonathan Kazahara?"
Jonathan: "Yes."
Vigagi:
Rishu: "If you don't believe us, go ahead and search the Institute."
Vigagi: "I'll make my own decisions."

Jonathan: "...So. Will you guarantee the lives of my staff?"
Vigagi: "That depends on your attitude."
Jonathan: "I figured. What do you want from us?"
Vigagi: "All of your design data. Give it to us."
Jonathan: "We've got a lot of data stashed away here. That's going to take time."
Filio: "Two weeks, at a minimum."

Vigagi: "Hmph... You don't think I realize that you're stalling for time?"
Jonathan: "All right, I'll just give you the data. But I should warn you, each file has its own security routine. If the BLD code isn't entered for each one individually, they'll erase themselves when accessed."
Vigagi: "...What?"
Jonathan: "In short, if one of our personnel doesn't take care of that, you'll end up with nothing."

Rishu: (What's this, Jonathan? I haven't heard of any such thing...)
Jonathan: (I'm bluffing, Master.)
Rishu: (You can't actually expect him to believe that---)

Vigagi: "You have two weeks. Once the deadline passes, I will execute five employees every day until the work is done."
Jonathan: "...We'll do our best."
Rishu: (I stand corrected. But now the sword hangs over our workers' necks... we may regret this.)
Vigagi: "Then you'd better get to work. Immediately."

Jonathan: (Two weeks. Will he find the Double-G's bunker, or will help get here first? Time to place our bets, I guess...)

Tsugumi has been unable to raise the nearest Federation base; it looks like the Inspectors are in full control of the central United States. Ratsel has already arrived at the same conclusions Gilliam made. The Inspectors intend to use our weapons against us rather than bring an army of their own, and they're avoiding damage to civilian areas - probably to ensure a stable workforce when the conquest is complete.

The question is what to do now; the Inspectors will be moving their forces towards the Pacific coast, so escape over the ocean is risky at best. Ratsel suggests heading north, surprising Tsugumi. Yes, the enemy may be there as well, but the Hiryu Kai is due to descend over Lake Superior. It turns out that Ratsel was warned of the attack on Tesla by Gilliam, and he promised to lead them to the Hiryu.

Kusuha: "Um, Mr. Feinschmecker... if you're a friend of Gilliam's, then you really must be Lieutenant Rai's---"
Ratsel: "It's just an unfortunate resemblance. I assure you, I have no relation to Raidiese's brother."
Kusuha: "Uh? Brother?"
Tsugumi: (She didn't say anything about a brother...)

Recognizing that there will be plenty of opportunity to revisit this joke later, Ratsel asks about the Calion pilots. Tsugumi says that they're both resting - neither one has any real combat experience, and this was a harsh lesson for them both.

Sleigh: (Brother... you put everything you had into your dream. So why do you have to be the one the battle touches?)

Tsugumi: "There you are, Sleigh."
Sleigh: "Chief Takakura..."
Tsugumi: "We'll be meeting up with the Hiryu Kai soon."
Sleigh: "Are they going to help us recapture the Tesla Institute?"
Tsugumi: "No. We'll be crossing the Atlantic to southern Europe, to Aviano Base."
Sleigh: "Then what about my brother? Are we just going to leave him with the enemy!?"

Sleigh: "Chief Takakura. You didn't exactly hesitate to leave the Institute... You decided my brother's project was a dead end, didn't you!?"
Tsugumi: "....."
Sleigh: "Answer me!"
Tsugumi: "It wouldn't have helped anything to stay there, no."
Sleigh: "You backstabbing---"

Tsugumi: "Get ahold of yourself, Sleigh. We've been entrusted with the fruits of the Major's labor. The fate of Project TD rests on that machine. Shouldn't we be trying to protect it?"
Sleigh: "You think the Grungust and those stupid toys are the fruits of Project TD!?"
Tsugumi: "I'm not talking about them. The Alpha prototype is on this transport."
Sleigh: "What? It's done!?"
Tsugumi: "....."

Sleigh: "That's Project TD's flagship. I want to see it. Now."
Tsugumi: "Hold on, Sleigh. The Alpha proto---"
Sleigh: "The Alpha prototype will go to the number-one pilot. A pilot should get to see her own mech!"
Tsugumi: "W-wait!"

Sleigh opens the cargo bay and makes an unpleasant discovery.

Sleigh: "What's the meaning of this, Tsugumi? Why is the Alpha --- why is the Astelion painted silver!?"
Tsugumi: "...It's what Filio requested."
Sleigh: "Why!? Why would you do something like that?"

Tsugumi: "Because Ibis will be piloting it. That was also Major Filio's decision."

Sleigh: "Ibis is piloting the Astelion...? He picked... the Shooting Star... over me?"
Tsugumi: "Sleigh, listen to---"

Sleigh doesn't listen. Instead she runs out.

Ratsel: "...I didn't think she'd accept it."
Tsugumi: "Mr. Feinschmecker..."
Ratsel: "Filio told me about Series 77 - and about his choice of pilot."

Tsugumi: "Tell me... why would Filio choose Ibis over his sister?"
Ratsel: "It sounds like you don't agree with the decision, either."
Tsugumi: "Of course not. In terms of piloting skill, there's no comparison between the two."

Ratsel: "But Ibis is the one my friend chose. I believe she has talent we haven't seen."
Tsugumi: "But..."
Ratsel: "Perhaps you'll just have to find it for yourself."

-----

Ibis: (Filio... now what are we supposed to do? After this, what will happen to Project TD?)

The alarm sounds.
Ibis: "Are we under attack!?"
Tsugumi: "Ibis, can you hear me!?"
Ibis: "Y-yes! Is it the enemy, Chief?"

Tsugumi: "...Sleigh's taken her Calion and left, without authorization."
Ibis: "Huh?"
Tsugumi: "In this situation we can't let people go off on their own. I need you to follow and bring her back."
Ibis: "O-okay! But..."
Tsugumi: "We'll be behind you, but we need you to catch her!"

Ibis: (Sleigh... what happened? Even though Filio's not here, we can't give up...)
