Slithering in is your familiar Poison snake. Like an unfortunate amount of Pokemon, the best move they can get through level up is Bite, which definitely isn't bad, but man it could be a lot better. But with fairly high Speed and Attack, you can do some damage with STAB Poison. Ahaha, well maybe when you learn Sludge Bomb, but right now, you're best move uses the second worst stat, so using TMs is another necessity. There are a number to be learned, but they might not be for a while, so you'll be a bit stuck until then. Oh well.
Since it's still early days, you can definitely do some damage, but it's gonna fall off quick. Poison still isn't a great type, but there won't be many things blocking your way for a while, thankfully, so by the time they do show up you might have something to counteract them. But just don't expect anything too impressive, unfortunately.
