Ah, so this is what androids dream of. Mareep is an early Electric type, which works pretty well as there's a lot of stuff nearby that's weak to it, in a similar vein to Fire types. With a reasonable Special Attack stat, you'll have no problem zapping the opposition into submission. You'll get STAB relatively early in Thundershock, but then you'll be relying on that for the most part until it fully evolves and learns Thunderpunch, which is really useful, or you might have to solely rely on Thunder for your last move. That's definitely not bad, but for single player, it's best to just have consistency. Or not. What do I care? Go fucking crazy you son of a bitch! But, uh, yeah, it's a fine choice, if a bit slow and a little bit frail. But you don't care, because it's a goddamn adorable sheep. And that's all that matters.
