This floating coil is now a Steel type! This is both a good and a bad thing. Good because it makes it pretty defensive and really fits with its appearance more. Bad because it doesn't really change it offensively since it cannot learn a single Steel type move. And it's now 4x weak to Ground and 2x weak to Fire, which is pretty bad. Still, Magnemite hasn't changed much from last gen despite the new type, it still hits pretty hard with Electric moves and, uh, that's about it really. You'll be waiting a while to get any new Electric moves aside from Thundershock and the only other moves you can learn are physical, which won't be good with its terrible Attack. So you really don't have many options, which is a shame, cause it can hit pretty hard otherwise. Still, maybe next time around it can get STAB on its new type, for better or for worse.
