Take one look at this patient Pokemon and you can easily say "sō na-n-su!", cause this Pokemon is ruthlessly simple. While it doesn't get the necessary final piece of the puzzle until next gen in the form of Shadow Tag, all you do is predict what your opponent is going to use and hit it back in double the force with Counter or Mirror Coat. And when you're about to faint, use Destiny Bond to ensure it's a double KO. Use Safeguard to prevent status if necessary. And that's all this punching bag can do. And that's all it needs to do. It performs one specific job and it excels at that, sometimes to a deadly degree. But that doesn't make it exactly useful for story purposes, since you need prediction skills on point the entire campaign to make effective use of it. The only stat to really speak of is HP, since the others need to be purposefully low. You don't need to ever attack, so those stats are low. You need to go last to reflect damage, so they're low. And you need to take a large amount of damage to reflect an even larger amount back, so those stats are low. Even though this is a weird, niche Pokemon, it performs it very well and that's something I can get behind. Just don't expect it to do literally anything else.
