I Feel Like I've Been Here Before...
Let's Play! Gunstar Super Heroes!

Gunstar Super Heroes is the sequel to the 1993 Sega Genesis game simply called Gunstar Heroes. It got massively good reviews upon its release in 2005 and was hailed as the best game of the year for its system, the Game Boy Advance. Unfortunately, this did not stop its sales from flat-lining soon after release. Nintendo promoted the hell out of it, but none of its good reviews or nostalgic touches could save it. In the end, the game wasn't even on the list of top-selling GBA games that year, which is saying something considering the DS had already overshadowed the GBA market. Even I, who had loved the original, did not know about this game's release, or did not take note of it due to its, eh, colorful interpretation of what a Gunstar should look like.

Game Information
Date Released: 2005, October 6th for Japan, 25th for North America, and November 4th for Europe
Platform: Game Boy Advance
Developer: Treasure
Publisher: Sega

Plot:
After the destruction of the God of Ruin, aka Golden Silver, the Gunstar Heroes drifted into legend. The destruction of Golden Silver resulted in the formation of four new moons, and all was well. Many years later, a fifth moon has appeared in the Earth's orbit, and a familiar enemy along with it. You play as an agent in an organization called The Third Eye, or 3YE, as a part of a unit named the Gunstar Super Heroes. This new generation of Gunstars must stop the threat of Golden Silver being resurrected once again!

Characters:
Red

Young and idealistic, Red loves being part of the quad named for the first game's heroes, who are now legendary. While his gender was ambiguous in the Japanese release, the North Americans called this one a girl, which I dispute. This will be discussed, prepare to take notes.

Blue

Blue is less enthusiastic about his position, making him the cool guy in this series. He is less impressed by the legendary Gunstars, and would prefer to kick back and relax rather than save the world.

Yellow

Informant, communications expert, and chauffeur to the boys, yellow fulfills her role dutifully and with as skimpy an outfit as Japan felt comfortable putting on her along with power boots (more on that in the vid). She seems to have issues with her brother, Green, whom we will also be seeing later on.
