Scyther analysis
A very interesting Pokemon, but unfortunately not too amazing right now. Firstly, it has the same stats as its pre-evolution, losing 40 Speed to increase Attack by 20 and Defense by 20. Otherwise, it's the same, but it is pretty notable, since that is a scary Attack. Shame it doesn't get much to use it with. Oh yeah, it has fuck all for STAB. You can learn Steel Wing, so you don't need to evolve it before level 30 to get Metal Claw, but like with Scyther you only get Fury Cutter as the other STAB. So, you use Swords Dance, Slash and, uh, Agility? Maybe Protect to scout for HP Fire? Cause your Special Defense ain't too great and you've swapped out your 4x weakness to Rock for your 4x weakness to Fire. Funnily enough, you can teach it Sunny Day, but not Rain Dance! Nice! Yeah, unlike fast attacking Scyther, evolving to this guy might not be the best idea, cause while you hit harder, you also take more damage due to a much lower Speed, even with the boosted Defense. There are arguments for both, since right now, there's not an obvious choice really.
