Still early, still so much to see.

Map's a little different this time too.

We've also got these goobers. Sothe and Lance are going to make a joke of these two.

Wolt and Rebecca are replacing Ross and Garcia. Bleh, I'm not fond of either of these two...

Their village gets burnt down, Wolt and Rebecca escape. Wolt's on 5 HP, just like Ross.

I don't blame them for not changing this either. I tried changing one of these set HP events and I got confused.

Here's our map for the chapter. I can't tell if it's based on anything, some of the maps in this game are definitely taken from FE5/9/11/12.

Anyway, here we are. Village in the bottom left and upper right. There's plenty of bandits and Wolt is kind of worthless so we need to rush.

First, let's talk our new recruit.

Vanessa is pegknight/10. She has her uses but I prefer another peg we get later.

That skill is Big Shield. It's a Def% chance to take no damage. Not bad, but not that likely.

Slim Lance has 80 crit now. It's a niche, I guess, but I would've appreciated some extra power for Vanessa.

Nothing fancy here.

Here's Rebecca. She's pretty fast, which is handy considering that 4 Con.

But last time I used Wolt. Yes, he is a trainee. His growths aren't bad, but those skills aren't too great for him.

Those are Boon and Cancel. Boon cures status effects on the unit at the start of your turn. Cancel nullifies an enemy attack, there's nothing about a % chance in my skill doc.

Vanessa checks in on the village and grabs the Red Gem. She then canto's out so she's just avoiding the archer on the right.

Lance picks a fight with a brigand and we just shuffle along.

A full HP brigand comes in and attacks Eirika, missing. Pretty wimpy bandit, he's 3-shot by Eirika.

The injured brigand from our turn dies to Lance and gives him a level.

HP, STR, SPD, MAG. Nice.

6 HP would be notable in the early game if basically everything didn't have inflated FE4 HP.

Wolt runs up to us and heals up.

Sothe takes out the archer and gets SPD, LCK, DEF. I was complaining about the lack of these last update, wasn't I?

The Archer also gives us a Vulnerary. I love these things so that's real good.

Wolt attempts to show off. He does double this sucker but it's only 8 HP out of 31. By the way, something's up with the doubling formula here. Wolt's got 5 speed, the bandit has 3. That weapon might just guarantee a double, I have no clue what's going on here. Either way, it's appreciated.

I get ready to drag Wolt out of there. He can take a hit but I'll feel better when he can't die.

Bone's gotten awfully close to the village so I was hoping for an Eirika crit. No such thing but I think the AI might not be standard GBA bandit AI.

SKL and SPD, it'll have to do.

I continue to use Sothe.

Enemy phase comes around, Bone runs up the mountain and goes for Lance. He hits but Lance kills him. Village is safe, but Lance is low. The other bandit won't be able to reach him this turn so he's safe.

HP, STR, SPD, MAG. It's nice to see Midori has a cavalier bias, just like me.

The bandit misses Wolt but you can the numbers on the left. Good chance to hit, and a lot of damage. That's why I dragged Vanessa down here.

But then Rebecca finally attacks and I wonder why I brought her down here.

My turn comes around and I move Lance over to the village to get him out of danger.

This one took me a moment. I haven't played Thracia and he looks pretty different in GBA style.

Say hello to Othin Osian. I'm never going to get used to that.

He doesn't come with his signature Prf Pugi (1-2 range axe, very good crit) but he does come with Wrath. Midori's Wrath is as so:

-Wrath: Increases crit rate by 50% when HP is 50% or lower

It's a bit unreliable but it's a bonus.

More importantly, Osian is fast.

Fast, but not strong enough to one round this brigand. He does double though!

Sothe kills a brigand, gets STR, SKL, SPD, LCK. Good level, he's going to do well in Assassin.

Anyway, I finish the map but I forgot to check the last village or recruit Wolt. Whoops.

Wolt and Rebecca still joined us but we missed an Elixir. Ah well, it's not a big deal, I don't feel like resetting for it.
