Alright, let's get started.

Oh my, monsters, what a surprise

Hi, Elincia.

Oh hey, Nephenee. We can now forget Bors is in the party.

This is basically Artur's recruitment, reminder that they probably had to do hex editing for all their events.

I can actually believe that Elincia could kill this eyeball. I think Artur had to rely on a crit, they didn't change that here.

Nice, a deployment screen.

Forgot to take this until later, but here's our map. We've got fog, I hate fog.

Wolt is out because I want to use Rebecca this run and Bors is out because he's kind of meh.

Elincia's pretty good, isn't she?

She starts off promoted, but her bases are excellent, her STR is low enough that she can just weaken enemies and let others kill and she's a 9 move flyer.

Her growths are also good and she has renewal (10% HP regen per turn, I believe) . She's staying in the team for a long time.

She doesn't come with Amiti but she can heal.

A flying healer with durability that can fight back? Elincia is great.

Neph's just in the village, we'll get over there eventually.

There's a lot of zombies, but they still suck.

I also finally remembered to fix my settings. There's a big "patch" for FE8 in the english community that fixes a lot of things and sets your default options to having backgrounds in battles, fast move speed on the map and instant text.

Midori does not have that .event included but I could feel the difference since I've been messing with FE8. So I remembered to change my settings.

Rebecca hits the zombie, Lugh kills it, gets a terrible level. Luck only.

Sothe moves over, we get some better vision and Lance fights the skeleton. He's pretty tough, but I didn't really notice at the time.

I definitely noticed the skeleton's bulk at this point. Vanessa has like 9 Atk, this skeleton has actual defence.

Because of his bulk, we don't bother attacking, we'll finish him later.

A skeleton comes from the fog, but he misses Othin and Othin smacks him back.

The skeleton misses Eirika but wow, she really need some STR.

LCK, DEF. That ain't helping.

Jeez, this thing is a knight with more move. And sword access.

They have terrible MAG and SPD so Ray/Lugh can still do some good damage. Rebecca finishes this skeleton off. Lugh kills the other one.

Lance gets HP, STR and SPD while killing a zombie. He's a good guy.

This fellow has a Slim Lance. The same Slim Lances that have 80 Crit. I'm a little wary of him, as you may imagine.

Sothe still MVP.

This random zombie manages to hit Eirika.

And this one gets Othin.

Othin gets ganged up on, but he pulls through.

L'arachel, Dozla and... Aion? I had to look him up, he's the guy from Kishuna's first map in FE7. He's a Sage.

Lugh kills a zombie, gets STR, SKL, SPD, MAG. Good level!

Rebecca does that too, but she only gets LCK. Those bases won't hold out forever, Rebecca.

Um, okay. Othin gets HP, DEF.

Turns out the best option for this Slim Lance skeleton was our thief. Thanks Sothe.

Lance needs a bit of DEF but he's doing well this map.

Sothe continues to prove he is the best. HP, STR, SKL and MAG.

An eyeball actually hits Othin and now I have to worry.

These Mogall's aren't very dangerous but they still hit MAG so they're better than the zombies. I remember to have Elincia heal Othin but it's map animation only.

Nice about about MAG doubling as RES is that Ray can assert his dominance over this eyeball.

Not for long at this rate. HP, SKL.

Lance gets a level holding off the skeletons from the rest of the party. STR, SKL, LCK, MAG. It's a good level but he really needs DEF to stand out more.

Vanessa fights a zombie. LCK only. If she doesn't get a good level this map, she's getting benched.

Lugh kills a zombie, HP, SKL, SPD. That looks like a Lugh level to me.

I must've given Elincia a lance during the prep screen. Regardless, she's great at dealing with those eyeballs.

Othin pulls HP, STR, SPD, LCK for a level. Good, especially since the WT mitigation formula is STR/2.

This joker misses and gets doubled. Nice.

Urgh, these guys...

Lance was a big help at the start, but he's not getting to the fight in time unless I slow down.

A skeleton stabbed Rebecca last turn, but she hit him back with double criticals.

HP, SPD. I might just be spoiler after playing some Fates.

Alright, I have a problem here.

Elincia's vision range is only 1 square away, so when those eyeballs attack, they attack froma range where I can see them. Because of that, we'd get kited forever if we stayed there. Elincia doesn't really care, but I need those guys dead.

I tried to give the fliers the range to see the eyeballs but instead I made Eirika use the torch because ???

i am a moron

3 enemies. Each hits for 8 damage. Vanessa has 23 max HP.

She manages to dodge and avoids death.

She can heal with her vulnerary and Elincia kills the first of these 3 eyeballs.

Oh yeah, why do you start off with E Axes Othin?

I take a gamble to kill one of these eyeballs.

Works out fine.

HP, SKL, LCK. Whatever, you're benched.

HP, SKL, SPD. Othin continues to be good.

I'll get you if it's the last thing I do!

i hate units only having 1 range of sight in fog but that eyeball is dead now

I'm using Elincia enough to get a level, she has good growths. HP, STR, SKL, LCK.

Eirika kills a zombie near the bottom of the map, we're getting close to the boss.

SKL, LCK, DEF.

Eirika, please get STR.

We finally grab Nephenee now that those stupid eyeballs are mostly done.

Nephenee is another trainee but she actually has bases. I'll try to use her, 4 mov is a little irritating to work with though.

That skill down there is Wrath. Othin had it, +50% Crit when below 50% HP. I'd rather have Resolve, honestly.

Lugh hits a skeleton, SKL, SPD, LCK. At this rate, he's going to double mercs and myrms. That'll be nice but he can't ORKO with that MAG.

An eyeball attacks Neph, but there's one of them so this is manageable.

Neph spots him and heals, we kill him.

We lure the boss out down south.

He's a good deal stronger. The Entombed (or Mummy here) always had high HP/STR but now he's actually got some other stats.

That aside, he's not that difficult to deal with. Lugh also hits D Anima here.

Sothe gets the kill and SKL/SPD/LCK/MAG. If the boss is going to give a full level, may as well give it to the overlevelled unit. Can't get more than 100 XP in a battle.

For some reason, this map isn't a Kill Boss or anything. You actually have to track down everything and kill them.

She's a trainee in Midori so her XP gain is through the roof. Unfortunately, she only gets DEF.

I spent three turns looking for this guy. Why is he here? Does he literally only exist to make you waste your time looking for him?

HP/DEF. You're still getting benched.

L'arachel's party pops in, says hi and heads off.

That's C4 done. Next time, we pick up an old friend.
