A lightning bolt incarnate, Raikou is able to hit really hard and really fast and letting no Gyarados rest easy. With surprising special bulk and excellent attacking stats, Raikou will have no problem tearing chunks into a team. Well, if it knew more than 2 special moves it could do a lot more. But right now, the best you've got is Thunder and Crunch. And even then, until level 71 you'll have to make do with Spark. Remember that move you thought was introduced in Gen 3, along with Meditate? Well Raikou and Chinchou are the ones who can learn it this gen. Since you can also learn Rain Dance, it makes a potent combo with Thunder, but aside from that, the last slot you could use is, uh, Iron Tail? Headbutt? Raikou has always struggled with a less than stellar movepool and the problems started here. Regardless, while it's very prone to Earthquake, it can take a good number of special hits and fight all day.
