I feel like I've seen this castle before somewhere. Also that castle does not look good.

Goober and Valter are still here, as per usual.

Hello new friends!

That's a smile you want on your side.

Kyle's also here. He has a very nice shade of green in his hair, I'd never noticed it.

I like your pink, but is that only two colors in your hair?

I don't think Mr. Pink likes us too much.

Here's our map for today, it's a seize map. Fairly long, but it doesn't look too bad. Le'ts meet our new crew for the map.

Ephraim is solid, he has good bases, good growths and an excellent Prf in Reginleif (10 mt, effective against horses/armors). In Midori, he's picked up a bit of extra strength, Resolve and two leadership stars (+3 Hit/Avoid to entire army for each star). But he takes a lot of damage from magic and his speed isn't as good vs. Midori's stronger enemies.

Resolve: When under half HP, Str/Mag, Skl, and Spd are increased by 50%.

Resolve was crazy in FE9 and it's nuts here too. I don't like fighting at sub 50% HP but Resolve is great.

Alec is from FE4 and is definitely a cavalier. He's pretty balanced though he can be a little squishy and he has some slight issues killing things. If he wasn't on a horse, he'd be resoundingly meh, but that's not the case.

Pursuit: Lowers doubling threshold to 1. Not affected by Nihil.
Nihil: Unit is unaffected by enemy skill except Pursuit.

Alec really appreciates Pursuit. Nihil will come in use later when enemies start packing skills but for now it's just there.

Kyle is just another FE8 cav. His skill and speed can be pretty shaky but he's got solid HP/STR/DEF for a cav. He definitely needs the bulk though, his skillset makes him very risky to use.

Critical: Changes critical attacks to deal (2*Atk - Def) damage.
Charge: Start a new combat round if HP and AS both exceed foe's.

Charge is Kyle's big gimmick. He can ORKO a lot of enemies but he's not really a good choice to put in a chokepoint or deal with a large amount of enemies. I like using him, I'll probably use him.

Who are you again?

Oh you. He's that one Mage Knight from FE5 that you needed to kill off another unit to get and that you could only get on one route. His name keeps changing and I can't keep on top of everything. Coulda sworn his name was Eyrios.

He's a prepromote so that's nice. Less nice is that fact that he's going to betray us. He comes with a Silver Sword and a Bolting tome so we'll be sure to steal that. He's the only guy on your team with mixed bulk since all our units have bad resistance.

God damn, that is one hell of a jaw.

Arden is the most knight.txt you could get and so much more. I love him.

Vantage: Always strike first, even when being attacked.

He hits hard so he can often kill a lot of enemies before they attack him.

Anyway, we're just moving along for now. By the way, Ilios's Bolting tome has 10 uses.

I have completely forgotten how speed in Midori works and Kyle got doubled. Oops.

Well, that's alright. If we're getting doubled by soldiers, we'd have a lot of questions to ask.

Alec, you get 3HKO'd by soldiers...?

I did some rescue sheninagans to get Ephraim up here but I left Reginleif equipped. It's fine, it has about 60 uses.

Arden comes with swords and a sword rank. Even with the disadvantage here, Arden barely takes any damage. It's pretty great.

Kyle pulls our first level. Defence is good on Kyle.

Ephraim can still double these soldiers with a Steel Lance and does so. It's an eh level.

Arden has 4 speed so these soldiers need to have literally 0 AS to be getting doubled. Ephraim kills a soldier and we advance on the left front.

Arden kills a soldier and continues to be a knight.

I forgot the Javelin was really heavy and got doubled.

It dropped his speed from 10 to 3. Yeesh.

Ephraim kills the doubling cavalier and gets a boring level.

Lot of dudes up here.

Our chokepoint down there is still fine, but this is a bad level. I'm not sure if Arden's HP growth is 100%+ or just really high.

We killed the cavalier up here last turn but now there's a ton of axe fighters coming in. Luckily, we have a 1 tile chokepoint that Alec can hold. If you take this map slow, you're going to be spending a lot of time in chokepoints. I did.

You finally did it, huh?

This is our first move growth of the LP. Yes, Midori implemented move growths. It's silly and I really love it.

Arden's is 20%. It's actually higher than his speed growth. A 10 move general is simply majestic.

I forgot Ilios actually had a sword. Ah well, plenty of uses on that sword.

The enemy fighters can put up some pretty decent hit rates on Alec but he's dodging like a champ.

Now that's a real nice level for Alec. I don't usually have high hopes for him, so this is nice to see.

Arden is still down there. He's gonna be down there for quite a while with all those soldier reinforcements coming in.

This map has a lot of reinforcements. Good for XP, bad for getting through it quickly.

STR/DEF on Alec? Amazing.

I did a practice run of this map like a week ago. How did I forget these guys?

Kyle stabs an archer and gets a bad level.

I gave Arden a vulnerary at the start of the map so I think he'll be fine. Still sending some people down to help him.

2 points of speed in 5 levels? Weird for Arden.

Steel Lance Kyle gets doubled by a lot of things. Hope I can get him a lighter lance soon.

Alec is doing just fine, still fighting those axe fighters. He can't ORKO them and that's fine, they have a good deal of HP.

he's fiiine

see, i sent ephraim down to help, it'll be great

After like 5 rounds of combat, a 50% finally hits Alec.

All these guys have iron swords so they do very little damage to either Kyle or Alec.

Arden, more move please.

This is very nice though.

It's very tempting just to leave Arden there, but I don't think he has enough uses on his sword left to kill them all.

Yeah, I'm gonna need to help him out.

Ephraim kills one of those cavaliers and gets a bad level.

Whoops.

Arden does manage to kill one of the cavaliers at least. If he'd procced more strength earlier, he would've been 2HKO'ing the soldiers and that would've saved uses on the Iron Sword.

Ephraim only has 9 defence, the cavaliers all have around 15 attack. I'm going to need some luck to get through this.

Alec is still up there and he finally gets a bad level. You had a good run, man.

Arden is also helping out down here.

I hadn't remembered it earlier, but Ephraim does have Resolve. There's still a chance of dying, but it's much less likely now.

There were three javelin cavaliers that needed to hit to kill, none of them hit.

Arden is done with all those soldiers but he's going to need to grab another sword.

We're still busy up here, Ilios is ferrying the vulnerary around.

Neat! A lot of characters have move growths, Sothe got a point on the old run and Vanessa got one in this run.

Alec wants to be a mage killer, I guess.

This map might have too many reinforcements.

You haven't procced speed in 5 levels. If Arden can do it, so can you.

We finally get Arden up to the axe fighter chokepoint. Alec passes his sword off, but even that's running low on uses.

I'm still wondering whether it's worth spending stat boosters on you. You're a cavalier with two skills, but your growths seem really bad and your bases are just normal.

It's a good thing you use swords, I can't imagine you hitting anything as an axe armor.

Have I complained about the enemy density in this chapter enough? They're not really dangerous, but you do run the strange risk of running out of swords.

You're no Lance, but this is still good.

There was an axe fighter above Alec that didn't move. The archer now trapped in by Arden didn't move either.

This mage is actually pretty dangerous. He can 2/3HKO a lot of our team since they all have terrible Res except for Ilios.

I'm not expecting Arden to get much magic either.

We've lured out the mage but Alec missed making this a little more difficult.

Ephraim fell to 6 HP but Kyle managed to kill him. Not sure why I didn't just use Ilios for that.

Elixirs may not be 6 uses but the inflated HP pools in Midori appreciate them.

The challenge of the map is mostly done, the mages are the only danger left.

Like this guy. 2HKO's Alec/Kyle/Eph and 3HKO's Arden. I was hoping he couldn't double, since I'd forgotten the AS formula.

There were some fighters down here off screen, but they were chumps. Easy enough to take down, we fought like 15 of these earlier.

Ephraim kills a knight and finally gets some speed. Much better than Eirika's strength situation.

Arden kills some fighters down here and procs Move again. He's now got more Move than Ephraim and 1 point less than Kyle/Alec.

Bors doesn't have a sword rank but Arden gets both a sword rank and a lance rank. I have plenty of Steel Lances lying around, we can see how that goes.

That's a pretty shaky hit rate considering we're fighting soldiers...

And here it is.

The chests just have an Elixir and a Killer Lance in the other chest. Same as Vanilla, Kyle will hold onto the Killer Lance since he can use it.

It's... fine. I've dropped my expectations for Kyle now.

Eesh. This monk doubled Alec and there's that non zero chance to crit. Should've just used Ilios here.

At least we got a decent level out of risking Alec's life.

Arden finishes that monk off.

A 7 move knight

After the rest of the map, Zonta is kind of a joke. He can't double, he's got issues hitting and he's squishy.

And he doesn't even give us a good level.

If Ilios is leaving us, I see no reason not to take his stuff. Gonna have to train Lugh up so he can use this Bolting tome.

And that's 5x done! We'll be back to Eirika next update.

...Oh god. I recognise where this is from now.

It's the damn Mathis chapter.
