Update 13

Last time Ector kicked my behind and took my sandwich village! I can’t forgive such behaviour.

Day 11

A fenced meadow is constructed and ponies are hired.

We can do this!

And now all of my heroes have pathfinding.

Carlawn is on a roll. First pathfinding and now a brooche that boosts spell power by 3.

That gold looks like mine!

Day 12

Let’s get the village back first. Ectors sluggish movements suggests that he doesn’t have the gift of pathfinding. Combined with our higher speed army means that we can easily catch up to him.

Which we'll do tomorrow!

Let’s see what else Carlawn can learn.

Luna meanwhile boards one of our new ships. I had planned on giving her more units, but I think I need the money more. In addition I want to build up my sorceress town further before I spend too much on the barbarian town.

Day 13

What else did I expect?

Money that will probably be traded for resources. I need my red tower.

Carlawn is having some really great luck this map.

Day 14

Attack!

Ector is truly a powerful hero. I really want to take him out of the game permanently. I blinded the archers, we’ll focus on the swordsmen first.

That’s a great start.

We pound into the swordsmen.

After concentrated fire we move to attack the archers.

We strike them after blessing the ponies. I doubted between bless and disruption ray. I decided that doubling my damage output for a few turns would be better. I have no idea if it would be better, but it seemed better especially since it´s cheaper.

Like I said, I don’t want him to run so I’ll keep his archers blinded between rounds until we can take them out.

Two round later. I want this guys junk!

Win! Now give me!

This shield is great. It adds two to both defense and offense.

This on the other hand is terrible. This is going to cost me 250 in gold each turn.

This book doubles my summoning spells, you know, like summon earth elemental. The spell we didn't pick.

Also sir Gallant showed up carrying veteran units and cavalry. Carlawn however has spells and 67 battle dwarves, 17 normal dwarves, 20 sprites and a whole druid. I don’t think that he’ll attack her.

Lord Halton is having a bad influence on Carlawn.

We just have nothing to spend it on, except garbage. Literally, because I just bought the garbage heap in my barbarian town.

Day 15

Are you kidding me!

Ready for battle. According to the thieves guild this was now their strongest hero. Taking him out would be great for us.

He’s indeed quite decent.

I guess I’ll be drinking unicorn blood tonight. After the cavaliers retaliated they only had 5 HP left. Fortunately, I have plenty of dwarves to throw at the enemy and our new attack score really makes them put the hurt on the enemy.

Down for the count.

The great druids kill the swordsmen, allowing the elves to attack the pikemen.

Meanwhile a group of dwarves arrive at the centaurs and a single swing decimates their numbers. Now the best part about blind is that after unblinding the enemy still has to skip their turn. So these 10 centaurs are doomed.

Like I almost said, DoomeD.

We actually get two levels out of this. The other level was advanced estates. This level however becomes logistics. Logistics with pathfinding is a dangerous combo and I saw some boots near my castle. If I can get those the Flash will no longer be the fastest man alive.

Meanwhile, at sea. Luna can cross half the ocean in a single turn while making slight detours to get chests and flotsams. We also found a message in a bottle warning us about the barbarian castle to the south. We should make our own bottle mail at some point letting them know we solved it.

Are you kidding me?! These are the worst shipwrecked people ever. First a mask and now a second taxlien. Keelhaul him!

All that wood we’re finding is great for trading.

Goal achieved!

Day 16

The exciting adventures of Luna!

Remember the breastplate I ignored earlier?

Well, no longer. This boosts the defence with another 3 points putting our skill at 9.

I’m ready! I want those boots!

Day 17

There is a flag of an enemy horse there.

Here is the castle belonging to the flag bearer. I think I’ll wait and see if the flag is going to move away. If it does, then she can land and take it.

Hey, this is their currently strongest hero and he has paladins.

Meanwhile, with construction in the sorceress castle complete I have started building up the barbarian town. Extra units and armies are very welcome.

Hey, it’s the notorious Wyrm!

Day 18

Wyrm left, let’s take his castle.

Let’s try this!

Meanwhile I lost my village again.

I held off on casting spells until I knew how much damage the Phoenix was going to do. I figure a magic arrow will kill them.

Or they could totally run away after casting lightning bolt.

And now the village is mine again.

Now I just want a good hero and some Cyclops and we’re set.

Day 19

Another hero shows up.

Hopefully this castle has reinforcements.

Many died during combat.

The genies died to the magic from the captain and the rangers died to the towers.

Four bone dragons will do nicely thank you.

This is a terrible army.

This is slightly better. Yes, I dropped the single ranger. 8 sprites are probably better.

The showdown we’ve been waiting for! I actually think Ector was stronger.

I kept the phoenix in our line since most of the enemy units have to come to me anyway.

This guy can cast spells that make people fall down. Lightning bolt does 25 damage per spell point, he has 6. He just killed most of my druids.

Even death ripple packs a punch now.

I was expecting the enemy skeletons and zombies to keep charging the druid and the dwarves. Instead they turned around and started attacking my phoenix. I don't think it can handle such aesthetically challenged creatures.

Hold on.

Magic arrow killed them.

I wish the shackles from Heroes 3 were a thing already. At least his going away lightning bolt failed against my dwarves.

Now to get home and get my ponies. Let’s hope Luna can keep the castle.

This is rather brave. He had 61 skeletons, but most already died to the arrow towers.

The genie died to a lightning bolt, but we decided to wait it out.

The zombies were the last to go. That was easy enough. That was a really strange decision the AI made. He had no chance at all, normally that means that he just runs around aimlessly.

Here comes a new challenger!

I really want my gems mine. I want to finish my barbarian army, but I need to hold for one more day. Today is day 7. If I can survive I can reinforce everything. I can get my barbarians after that.

Day 20

Victory!

They’re not getting this castle back easily.

A careful scouting.

Zom meanwhile appears to be considering attacking my village again. Why is my village so strategically important?

Day 21

He ran away again. But I spotted an observatory and what looks like another castle or village near the edge of the fog of war.

Flint is hired and gets some units to protect the castle while Luna goes out hunting.

And of course claiming the many mines to cripple the enemy.

Day 22

I can see clearly now, the fog is gone. I can see all two enemies in my way. Zom and…

You again? I don’t think I repaid you enough for defeating me earlier. How did the AI even rehire him? If you beat someone they usually become available to everyone.

Crossroads is a very fitting name for a village on a cross road.

That was quite sudden. I expected more from the notorious Wyrm.

This explains why the enemy hero suicided on the bone dragons earlier. They really needed a castle that could hire heroes and produce units. This village could do neither of those.
Now to put a stop to yellow.
Now that I know that there is no more red near my necromancer castle I can easily send Luna to help out. This should be over quick.

Let’s clean some skeletons out of the closet.

A well placed morale boost and a magic arrow allowed me to finish this in a single round.

Day 23

I would like that helmet to compliment my shield, but I don't think I'll pursue it. Fashion statement be damned.

That’s a tricky proposition. Run around Luna.

Run along Halton, take the castle.

Day 24

Ector thinks he can escape.

How the mighty have fallen.

Come back here!

Wait, I mean all according to plan.
The magic of eagle eye. Irony dictates that I finish Ector off with nothing but lightning bolts in the final battle.

The net closes.

Day 25

Jojosh is also back.

Some fat friars teach us a useful spell. Let me demonstrate on the enemy.

And now their mine is haunted (note the cute little ghosts floating around) and unusable to all unless you want to fight ghosts. And you don't want to fight ghosts if you don't have to.

She’s a little lopsided with the knowledge score.

Apparently you have to feed bone dragons living things.

I am above the law!

I think this is about to end.

Halton is ready to present these people the bill for bothering the sorceresses.

You can’t run away now Ector. My phoenix will eat your eyes and my dragons will feast on your bones. I have no idea about your soft parts, maybe should’ve brought some sprites along.

Halton is pretty strong and costly thanks to the taxliens.

I killed the cavaliers with lightning bolt, meanwhile my phoenix kills the pikemen in a dazzling display.

The bone dragons eat everyone else.

Victory! I know what I said about irony, but I really like phoenixes and I'm also fond of bone dragons.

And that was the end of yellow.

All right, party time. Now where are the beautiful sorceresses at?

It's funny how many artifacts I wanted to pick up but never did. Luck was really with me this map, considering how everyone managed to get pathfinding. Did you know that there's even a treasure chest near my starting castle that I never picked up?
Anyway next time we have a tough decision to make. I hope you guys are ready.
