Update 32: Running's Not as Fun as Hitting

Not one bit fun.

More of those statues. Hmm, there's a lot more branching paths here. Maybe we can sneak by them?

Boring! Let's just smash 'em to pieces! That last statue was a weakling!

Gah! I don't think this thing is that wea-

Why's my skin turning gra-

And here's Petrification in action. Yeah, this is why it's important to keep Prevent Order up.

And it's the only ailment in the game that persists outside of battle.

Please tell me there's a way to turn them back to normal!

Uh, hmm. Aha!

Just rub this medicine on them, and they should be back to normal. I think.

General rule of EO, if something bad happens to your party, always take care of the healer, first!

Ah! Man it was cramped, being stuck like that.

Ahem! There's still the matter of Scott.

Oh. Pfft, that? I got this.

I never thought about what being a statue was like, but I guess now I know.

Here's another Golden Idol.

Another dead Golden Idol.

Scott got a level up off of that one.

Once I get the Jolly Roger for Scott, his damage is gonna skyrocket, I'll say that much.

More statue murder. Certainly more exciting and profitable than sneaking around them.

Fukubari now deals 56% damage, and has a 22% chance to inflict Sleep.

Time to begin my weather report.

And after all this time, I finally start putting points into Asteria's Class Skill. Ether Mastery increases the damage of Asteria's elemental attacks; Fire, Ice, and Volt, by 2% at level 1.

And here's the last of the new enemies behind the first Stratum Star Door.

Forest Shrimp

VIT: 23
AGI: 19
LUC: 26
TEC: 23

Item Drops:
-Drop 1: Blue Shell - 20% Drop Rate. 1 needed for Machete (Dagger.)
--Blue shell of a shrimp that, oddly, evolved above water.
-Drop 2: N/A
-Gold: N/A
Description: A shrimp monster whose shell is as hard as metal. A swing of its tail can shatter bones.

Bind Resistances: Head: 100% Arm: 100% Leg: 100%
Other Resistances: Death: 50% Petrification: 50% Stun: 100%

Skills:

Claw Chop: Uses the Arms. A party target Slash attack that deals 60% damage and has a 50% chance to Paralyze them.

I really hate these things! Forest Shrimps are extremely annoying enemies that can completely shut your party down if RNG isn't on your side. They're resistant to every form of physical damage and Ice attacks, so if you don't have a Zodiac, too bad. They even resist Instant Death and Petrification, so you can't get rid of them that easily. Although they're pretty susceptible to both Poison and Plague, so if you have a Wildling, you could try inflicting those. If you meet all 3 of the Star Door exclusive enemies in one encounter, run. Especially if Golden Idols are after you.

Geez this is really hard to cut through. Oh gross, it's still moving around.

Fortunately, Alice managed to kill the thing instantly on the 5th turn. Even with the 50% Instant Death resistance, she still has a 20% to 24% chance of inflicting it on them.

And Susan got a level up he- hey wait a minute. I've killed several of these things, and I haven't gotten their drop! What gives!? It has a 45% drop rate, so it's not super low. Ugh whatever, there's more of those things around, so I'll probably get one eventually.

Lady Luck boosts Susan's crit rate by 7% at level 3.

But more importantly, it unlocks Limit Boost.

Which let's Susan build up Limit a lot faster once she gets it.

Anyways, that's all the Golden Idols that were-what's that? You want to know how to sneak past them? Fine.

Just follow the path I drew, and you'll sneak past them. Of course be warned that getting into a random battle can mess things up.

And here's a shortcut back to the main part of the first floor. If you ran from those Golden Idols, make sure to go through here to shake them off your tail.

No no no! I can't be a statu-

Keep her like that. It's an improvement.

Anyways, Asteria stacking Smart Earrings allows her to kill the Golden Idols in 4 turns instead of 5. Eh, it saves on some TP.

Oh, finally I got its drop! RNG is a fickle mistress.

Aside from forgetting to put up Prevent Order sometimes, all the battles with the Golden Idols play out the same way, so I'm cutting the actual battles out.

How many of these statues are there!? Fighting these things are a pain!

You're the one that wanted to fight all of them!

Here's a one way passage in case you screw up.

Went back for a moment to restock on supplies. The Strength Bracers are unlocked from selling a Diamond Arm.

Faye gets closer to acquiring Protect Order.

I suppose this may seem tedious, but this is supposed to be one massive stealth section with enemies slowing you down. Ehh, which is also kind of tedious. But that was the last of the Golden Idols.

Because here's the other shortcut back to the main part of the first floor.

The path to avoid all the FOEs is a bit convoluted, but follow that to get past them. And go through the shortcut to get them off your tail.

It's probably not a problem! Probably...

And I got careless when fighting octopi and shrimp.

At the end of this path are some treasure chests.

We smashed every single statue that stood in our way and this was our reward!?

Have we really used these?

Which grants us access to some new forges. Don't expect them to see much use.

But with that... We're still not done with the 1st floor, as there's still the matter of the Moon Door and locked chest. It's funny just how much space the area behind the Star Door was taking up.

And there's the final piece of equipment we can unlock at this point.

Now, why don't see how the rest of the guild is doing?

Onward, to victory!

Susan is geared towards supporting and increasing the party's physical damage output.

You know, I just wanted to explore the Labyrinth. Not get caught up in some weird royal conspiracy.

Scott doesn't have much going for him at the moment, though that'll probably change pretty soon.

Well, at least I can hold my own now.

Now I changed up Alice's skill build so I could get her Rain or Shine again. It'll come in handy in the next Stratum. She's still capable of killing enemies instantly.

Okay, time to find out what the heck this whole Deep Ones business is all about.

Faye is geared towards healing and supporting.

What have we just gotten ourselves into?

Asteria is our elemental attacker, with access to both single target attacks and AOEs. She doesn't have any points in her subclass for now. She is currently our strongest damage dealer at the moment.

If this is another assassination attempt, be warned that I won't fall so easily.

I had Cassandra pump all her skill points into Anticold. I want this maxed very soon. There's a couple of fights where this will come in handy.

Cassandra is built for tanking and is our defensive support.

Okay, so we're about to find out why they've been trying to keep the Deep City a secret. It better be a damn good reason.

I pumped all her skill points into Blade Rave. It now deals 3 to 4 hits and deals 84% damage per hit. Something I should probably mention is that multi-hit attacks worked a lot differently in the first two games. In the first two games, if a multi-hit attack dealt a random amount of hits within a certain range, the lower numbers had more weight to them, so the game would roll the lower numbers more often than the higher ones. This is no longer the case in the later EO games. Each number has an equal chance of being rolled, so Blade Rave has a 50% chance of rolling 3 or 4 hits when cast.

Anyways, Rose is our durable physical attacker. She currently does not have a subclass. Mainly because most of them really don't do anything for her.

I hope this mission involves killing things. I haven't seen any action in a while, and I've got an itchy trigger finger!

I've unlocked Charge for Sidney.

Target locked. Ammo loaded. I'm ready to fire!

And this should help Front Mortar deal a lot more damage.

Sidney is our ranged physical attacker, with both physicals and AOEs at his disposal, and is currently our strongest physical damage dealer at the moment.

It seems as though the Deep City gave up on the idea of killing explorers. However, that won't make up for all the ones they've killed.

With Keburi no Sue maxed out, Akatsuki can spam Dark Ether, essentially giving our party infinite TP. And he can spam his other skills, unlike Alice.

Blink, and you'll miss me.

Just increasing Akatsuki's survivabiltiy.

Akatsuki is our resident crowd control party member. He specializes in dealing with random encounters and taking them out easily. His class skill enables him to spam his skills more often, which Alice can't really do, and he deals more damage than her.

I wonder if I'll make any new friends down in the 3rd Stratum!

I just pumped up Fang's class skill to level 5. It provides a 26% increase to HP, a 44% increase to their attack, and a 25% increase to their defense.

Fang specializes in ailments and binds, and is the main person to go to for lockdown.
