Playable Characters
Leon: An earnest and kind-hearted young swordsman.
Ralph: Leon's best friend, he is hot-blooded and quick to speak his mind, his Kansai accent getting worse as he becomes more emotional. Prefers to fight with his fists.
Brian: A veteran of the previous war between Barth and Youku, he is Leon and Ralph's father figure. Uses a spear.
Fam: The princess of the human kingdom Barth, her polite and noble demeanor belies a headstrong personality. Though she specializes in healing magic, she is no slouch with a quarterstaff. Joins the party to repel T. T.'s first assault.
Marcia: Fam's personal bodyguard, she is one of the few non-humans who serves at Barth's court. Her wings propel her across the battlefield without regard to geography. Uses a trident and casts magic. Joins the party in the escape from Barth castle.
Karen: Kasim and Nora's daughter, she is an energetic and adorable fire mage in training. Joins the party after her parents are slaughtered by monsters.
Ophelia: A high elf archer who joins the party to escort them through the Urukanos mountains. Also skilled with water/ice magic.
T. T.: A mysterious arrogant playboy earth mage who claims to have been undefeated before running into the party, but his bark is far worse than his bite. Joins the party after his third defeat
Lee-Ann: A mysterious girl who is invited by Leon to join the party when she suddenly shows up in the Urukanos mountains. Proficient with daggers and light magic. Her true identity is that of Leon's half-sister.

Major NPCs
Store clerk(s?): The ever cheerful proprietor of the store. It is not clear whether the same clerk staffs all of the various stores scattered across the land, or if she is even human.
Kasim: Brian's biological son, he is a hard-working family man.
Nora: Kasim's spouse, she is a sweet and gentle housewife.
Avi: A general of the monster kingdom who is also well-respected in the human realm. He is actually Glenn, a human general taken in by monsters after he was severely injured in the previous Barth-Youku war. He fell in love with Elena, fathered Lee-Ann, and dedicated himself to creating a country for monsters afterward, taking on the identity of Avi.
Herman III: The king of Youku, totally trustworthy and not at all suspicious an all-around scumbag who allows the enslavement and abuse of monsters and was planning to take over Barth for himself before Kaiser put a permanent end to his ambitions.
Helios: A mazoku renowned for his wisdom; was kept in Youku as a hostage until the king tried to put him in the direct line of fire.
Drago: An extremely old dragon who has locked himself in human form. Though he claims to have forgotten how to change back, he is well versed in ancient lore and magic. Baruk's magic tutor.
Elena von Basil: Kaiser's elder sister and Lee-Ann's mother. Passed away due to plot JRPG Protagonist Orphan Syndrome the stress of childbirth.

Antagonists
Baruk: One of Kaiser's elite commanders. Mistrusted by humans and monster alike, he murdered Avi in Barth castle and masterminded a war between the two races in order to destroy them both.
Kaiser: The general of Turuk's armies. An accomplished caster. Hates humanity, to the point of instigating a war on false pretenses.
Gant: One of Kaiser's elite commanders. Your stereotypical bloodthirsty barbarian type who sees all humans as puny and weak.
Lucia: One of Kaiser's elite commanders. Used to be Marcia's close friend until Avi's murder caused them to fall out with one another.
Welner: One of Kaiser's elites, well-versed in magic. Has a bit of a crush on Lee-Ann.
