1: Lynian, of the Lorca

Yune unlocks all modes and difficulties from the start, but we'll stick with Lyn Mode for now.

Oh, I'm sorry, it's Ninian Mode now. As you can see, this randomizer inserts the proper names for your randomized characters! It also removes the intro cutscene artwork, so this is all we're getting - don't worry, there'll be plenty of time to get confused about people's identities.

It seemed appropriate, somehow.

I won't be covering every line of dialogue, nor cover the mechanics in depth - in fact, I will be assuming the reader is already familiar with FE7's story, characters, and mechanics, so if you're not and mind spoilers, this is your cue to stop reading! - but there are certainly going to be exchanges I'll be capturing because they are absolutely beautiful (for all the right/wrong reasons).

Anyway, Lynian hears a noise outside, investigates, and finds... a shaman and a soldier. All right, then!

First off, let's take a look at our lord. She is actually pretty good - movement will be randomized between 4-9, so this is quite excellent... although that con is a little iffy.

My first go at this gave me Louise instead. As a pirate. With a devil axe. This run is... kinder.

Ninian also comes with Lyn's usual two vulneraries, as well as a lockpick - handy, that! A thief lord is definitely not a bad idea. Though, starting with a weapon that slows her down by half her speed stat isn't ideal...

The shaman, meanwhile, has fared considerably more poorly. Same great movement range, but those stats are just awful.

Flux doesn't look terribly good either.

Batta is a soldier! He has WTA on us, which isn't great...

...and this lance is actually pretty good, too.

Let's deal with the small fry first.

Part of the reason Yune is so great is that it gives - or at least tries to give - your characters their proper palettes, rather than the abominations some of the others spit out. Of course, you may find those abominations part of the charm, too... but I really prefer this version.

This is not a good match-up.

I have vulneraries, let's do it!!

Sadly Ninian needs to drink two of them after every hit, because Batta deals 15 damage and she has 20 HP.

She refused to get any crits, so I went through like four of them.

But rolling that 73 paid off, and that's not a bad level!

I'll say.

Good morning, Lynian!

I have a feeling your dad isn't going to approve but

oh.

...

Wait, that solves all sorts of problems!

Alas, we've no such luck. With that, however, Yune and Ninian set out for Adventureā„¢!

Next, on Ninian's Bizarre Randomizer:

Oh, I don't think that describes even the half of it.
