Jaffar's been doing some thinking since leaving his last job.
Still getting the bench, though! I was thinking I'd bench one of my three (!) axe users, but I'm still not sure who. Hector's coming, obviously, but I don't know if Rath or Priscilla will turn out better in the end. Rath has the speed advantage (and the con to actually maybe make some use of that speed) but Priscilla is like my bulkiest unit.
Karel's not coming for the same reason I tend to bench the actual Rath: coming in at level 7 when no one else is above level 5.

Benching Jaffar was definitely the right decision. Eliwood's weak, but he's two levels behind Jaffar and only one point behind in mag. Also, more speed, more con, more def... Jaffar's got him horribly outclassed in luck and res, but that might not be terribly important. He comes with Thunder, which is still very good!
Let's see it in action. That's a tiny, adorable Eliwood... so even more like Roy, then!
...I got so excited I didn't even check out the horseslayer. I think we saw one earlier though, and it wasn't anything special.
There's a decent variety of enemies,
including an Eliwood lord.
That one merc drops one of those nice new swords we saw last time.
And the soldier has a poison lance.
The boss wouldn't be anything special, but he also has Thunder and as such doubles a good number of our group.

Ninian's pretty good, even though her speed is nowhere near that high even with a basic iron sword. Going to be a full 18 with the emblem sword, though!

We've already seen the other two lords on the path select screen, so it's no secret Hector's now Guy (and a pirate) while Matthew (as a fighter) stands in for Eliwood.
Speaking of Hector and Eliwood! I had Hector pick up some fire tomes so I don't have to waste thunder uses when I don't need them. Not because I need to save them, they'd probably last all of Lyn mode anyway. It's just an instinct.
