21: Shiver Me Timbers

A bit weird how this is a sidequest when we... kind of have to get that ship.

All's as usual until

yeah that's a pirate all right.

I offloaded that red gem and thought I was going to be clever, but alas.

So let's take a look.

Geitz is another benched luck shit stack.

Fargus is still a goddamn tease who won't join my party!

Hey, here's a silver axe! Still no news on interesting effects, but that looks pretty nice.

Several of the high level pirates have these, and won't hit anything with them. This is actually a lot easier than it is in vanilla!

First though, our Canas is...

hahahaha.

Wait,

it's a pegasus knight Sain! That is amazing. And not even a bad unit! 9 con is a lot for a peg.

...still getting doubled by this guy... let's not do that.

Next house!

He usually gives you a devil axe but

game. Stop.

This doesn't "officially" trigger the pirate pile, but they'll still start coming after us.

We've finally found someone to match Guy's palette. Hell, this is actually worse.

As expected.

Could have done without this, though!

As I recall, these guys don't usually come running until Fargus tells them to, but they have bigger movement ranges this time so I guess the actual trigger for them to attack is really whether they can hit something, and not you stepping within a specific tile range from the group.

Sain gets wrecked. Probably did something to deserve it.

I have a hard time imagining what could possibly happen to make me abandon my plan to promote Lucius with that Orion's we found. Like... a 19-str nomad Lyn or something?

You are already dead.

And experience points.

This is the first enemy in a good while Nino can't just double and oneround!

Dorcas finished instead. And that is very nice! Getting ready for that guiding ring, if I get one where I'm expecting to...

And then these assholes show up.

I didn't even get a shot of Damian's stats. He's a peg. Lucius is right there.

Just gotta deal with this little shit first.

And another devil axe guy.

Like so and

yeah yeah we know

there we go! We really do not want this guy to get a turn - the steel sword has 50 crit, remember! but that's not going to be a problem.

Eek. Oh no.

Wasn't counting on this landing but

I will definitely take it!

Vulnerarying Nino because three mages could be a little bit dangerous otherwise... I thought.

In reality, this was far more dangerous! 48 hit! 40 damage!

After that, Nino did still tangle with the mages. Two of them died.

One of them... uh...

???????? ??? ???????????

Anyway, nothing stopping us from mopping up the rest now.

And that includes several houses!

??????

The hell's that! I've never seen the fucking thing in my life!

...

... ...

"Raises Accuracy and Avoid by 10 (Mario Kart: Double Dash!! bonus disk only)"...? Well, okay, I can probably find a use for that, assuming the effect is still the same.

Hector killed the last pirate.

That is not a staff!

Looks decent, though - if you have the con for it.

I am interested in

!!!!!

fucking

boots!

...not gonna lie, slapping those on Nino immediately sounds like a good time... But I'm going to let them sit for one more map.

I was right, thunder tomes are in stores now! I got like three spares. They are so good!

Also, random cameo.

Nope! And we're not going! I don't want to make this too easy.

Hmmm... nah.

Could definitely fuck Geitz up, though!

So I will!

Don't tell me that wasn't worth it.

All right, let's move on.

It really wasn't! But next chapter might be. Speaking of, next on Ninian's Bizarre Randomizer:
