26: Lucius Gets The Boot

This sucks. Sucks! I'm supposed to be doing a light-hearted comedic thing here, game, don't do this to me!

We haven't seen Erk in a while. He won't be rejoining us here, either.

Ninian and Guy get along so well.

And this at least makes a tiny little bit of sense with Matthew in this character slot.

(This, however, does not.)

It's a nice night, but we get no time to enjoy the scenery.

Because then, bandits attacked!

They'll have to wait a little.

I already said everything I need to say about this.

Our boy is all grown up! And very, very pretty!

Matthew is force-deployed again but he's a little less likely to just up and die now that he has a couple of non-trash levels under his belt.

Even moving a thief around on the deployment screen, there's not a lot in range. This one has and drops an iron blade, which is nice!

Rebecca decides to run in as well, but...

Well she's basically telling the truth about her fighting abilities. I mean... 8 speed and enough con to use an iron lance isn't bad, but 1 str, 4 def... is. Also, she's not permanent.

She does come with this, though! And a lightning tome she can't use.

Dorcas can use the torch staff now.

Some more guys get revealed, nothing special.

Fuck it, more torches, I don't have anything better to do.

That looks a little scarier, but they only have poison lances so they're annoyances more than anything else.

There are three whole ballistae on this map. I'll have some fun with that.

And then!

Sadly, he can't double or oneshot the wyverns.

The first house is a colossal disappointment. I mean, probably still more useful than a light rune...

This one isn't bad! Uh... except who needs this, again...? I only ever got the one cavalier!

I would like to buy some more weapons but I am so broke. I should probably sell my spare Orion's Bolt, but I'm paranoid.

Lotta wyverns.

Gimme that iron blade!

Getting rid of wyverns.

And I'm erasing this guy before he does something annoying. He drops an antitoxin. Despite all the poison on this map, I don't end up using a single one...

More torch spam, and we reveal most of the map.

Oleg, in a truly shocking turn of events, is not very dangerous! He does come with a non-droppable hero crest, however, and I do definitely need some of those.

Other than that, nothing much worth showing off.

Oh please give me an Ely

s...ian... Huh. Well, I guess that could be useful! Steel swords are scary in this seed.

Serra continuing to gain def.

Reinforcements will keep spawning for a long time here.

I could swear I saw something move up here, too...

It's...

...not that. Could be useful, though!

Poison bows.

And profit! I really do hope I get an elysian whip for him.

Huh. Nothing?

Nothing! Guess I'm just seeing things.

More barding.

More enemies!

Lucius got off his ballista and tried out that killer bow. Not bad.

Barding! Almost to 20, then I won't have to show these off any more!

Ahahahahahaha. Killer axe is doing effective damage!

Can't tell if it's anti-dragon or anti-flying yet, though.

And hey! If Matthew wants to get good, that's certainly fine by me!

Sain's doing well, too.

Serra is... I don't know if "good" is the word, but for a 5 speed 3 con axe wielder, she is surprisingly useful for that 8 move and 15 def.

Give me that!

And then Sain airlifts Ninian out of magic range.

So many reinforcements!

But I don't mind.

Huh, I could have sworn we were at this for longer...

I would very much like to buy another Heal, but I don't have the cash for it.

I do have a Mend so we'll be fine, onward!

Just for fun.

Somehow, Hector is the biggest magic tank on the team!

Come here, you!

Indignation!

pfft 8 damage, we

wait what are you doing

so Elfire is a brave tome. That does make up for its bad stats a bit!

It's just not enough. Hector crit and oneshot.

Byyyeeee

That's a very strange, but also very familiar Hector.

I spend a lot of time talking about how great Guy is, but Matthew is also good. He's just good in a more quiet, less flashy manner.

"I thought this was a randomizer! What happened?"

Still, it's nice to see her.

Yes, I'm almost out of tea, so if you could put the kettle on-

Oh, I wouldn't say that. Sure, all those 3-con axe users were a bit of a problem, but now I have an infinite use Bolting! Hell, I could rename this run "Bolting Tendency".

But enough of that. Let's have another reminder of what a colossal shitwrecker Matthew's dad was before we wrap up. Next on Ninian's Bizarre Randomizer...

...goddamit, Yune...
