29: Promotional Material

You know, I don't think I've ever not got the x chapter after the desert before. I don't think Barely Mobile Sniper Hawkeye is a bigger killstealer than Lol Full Movement Range Forever Sage Pent, either. I think it's just that I'm getting really shitty enemies that aren't worth a lot of exp.

At least Hector is part of our party...

I spy... a sage. So instead of a sage and a sniper, we get a sniper and a sage! That is pretty funny.

And oh man. Getting another caster would be great. ...provided Yune doesn't redistribute all their stats into luck again. I am so sick of characters who Would Be Good But Put All Their Points In Luck, Ha Ha, Funny Isn't It.

Even Matthew's fucking had it.

Penteye will... take some getting used to.

Also for some reason Marcus was carrying around Serra's promotion item and decided to just give it to someone else, fine, see if I ever deploy your slow-ass behind again!

The brothers Reed have thrown away their swords for tomes and staves.

Oh, who could this

ahahahahahahaha.

Well, I guess one small green-haired girl is as good as another...

Oh hey there Lowen, I almost forgot about you.

Please go away so I can get started on that again.

They're great pals!

anyway there's some dialogue but we're not really in this for the dialogue so

let's get on with the map! I finally pulled the trigger on this ring I've had lying around since forever.

Matthew got the Afa's because he's the lowest levelled unit I'm using... and needs it. Like really needs it.

Hector got the speedwings because I like his style.

And Bartre only has 28 HP as a wyvern lord and not the world's greatest defensive stats so I decided to throw him the robe.

After selling most of my useless stat boosters and promotion items (I had three knight crests!) and near broken junk, I still don't have nearly enough money. I cheated and looked up the secret shop in this chapter and oh boy. We're gonna have to do things on this map.

Those things do not involve Nils but I gave him Durandal just to see how he looks.

Linus is another actually really scary boss, but it turns out he does not move so he's much less of a threat than Jasmine. Apparently I did not cap his stat screen! That's very odd. Well, he's basically on the same level as the last guy, so that should give you some idea.

This is very, very, very scary.

...but for some reason, those stats are... yeah. I swear I turned up the enemy growths!

Also... yeah. 5 move. As hideous as 50 crit weapons and Silencer would be, I'm not sure it's worth promoting Ninian.

Man, they're really pathetic...

The regular enemies aren't anything special either, but this peg has a red gem.

On the first turn, uh... Pent shows up.

I told you I'm sick of this shit, yes?

Eat shit, Pent.

Blame this on the misfortune of your stats.

And then, we do the usual.

Bartre is good.

Oh, but wait! There's one enemy who sticks out a bit.

Yeeeeah. Only 19 attack, but a coinflip for a crit is preeetty scary.

Also: 8 move! And of course I can't have any bishops...

(Unless I train Lyn. ...I do not want to train Lyn.)

I'm still amazed at how useful Serra is despite her negative speed.

Less amazed, but just as amused, at this.

Sain has 14 res so I knew he could take a crit. It's still scary seeing it happen, though!

And then!

Lyno is pretty great.

Jaffault isn't bad either.

Hmm...

His attack would be 16 with the bow, but it displays as 20. That would mean the ballista has a might of 8. 28 effective damage on flying targets... It's not very strong at this point.

More than enough for pegs, though!

Dorcas boltinged a pirate.

FalcoSain looks better than the unpromoted version.

Matthew is helping!

Guy got the other guy above.

This guy seems to be beelining this house. Probably shouldn't let him arrive...

Fortunately, I have a Nino!

Pretty good.

This house doesn't have any interesting dialogue, but it does have something that'll help a whole lot!

Right now though, we're too busy stabbing to use it.

Let's see if we can get something as good from this one!

Nope! Still not bad, though.

This is another "tons of reinforcements" map.

Nino will kill most of those, and while waiting, she hit the last house. I would really have appreciated another earth seal over this...

Anyway, I said I wasn't going to arena abuse, but I'm going to need a lot of money, even with the silver card. So we're doing this. I am only going to send Guy, though - he'll max out momentarily, so we won't actually get a lot of exp for this.

Nowhere near enough. Nowhere near it!

Where'd you jerks show up from?

Go back there okay please thanks

ehhh

There we go, level-capped Guy. Now he won't get anything but money from the arena...

Nino killed a wyvern.

More's still coming!

While we deal with them and the arena, Sain took the silver card and went shopping. I've been wanting to re-stock on basic Heal staves since forever.

Not done!

They're worth exp, though.

And I can spam some heals so maybe Dorcas will learn how to Physic.

bleh

Healing

Almost, almost...

Finally!

That was another pegasus.

And this is the secret shop! We got that silver card just at the right moment.

Because I have no idea when or if I'll get any more promotion items, I feel like I have to grab one of these. But I also need more money for later.

In more amusing news,

I didn't think that was the kind of sleep he meant...

Burning those charges.

Matthew drew in the general and did well against him.

The warrior wasn't too bad either.

Still not great, but at least he's strong. Meanwhile, Guy finished up in the arena and

grabbed that ocean seal so he could finally promote! Of all those gains, the +3 con is by far the most important - he's at 8 now, which means only -3 from handaxes. He's not super slow any more!

This really, really hurts, though. But I have multiple mounted units and bards now, so I should be able to dance/drop him forward without too much of an issue now.

Matthew killed the assassin, too.

Dorcas broke a Mend.

Heath and Kent supported. They tend to be close together, so if this support offers some evade, that'd be nice. Maybe it does, maybe not, I haven't cared to look it up. It's not as if I'm waiting for someone else to support either of them with anyway.

I checked carefully to see if Linus would move, but he doesn't. So we can just chip away and get weaker units into position to finish.

...uh, maybe he needs to be a little more weakened than that.

That will do.

That is cheating! You can't get smacked to 0 HP and then just not die!

Matthew thinks Linus was a cool dude.

Ninian has a vision or something?

And then Linus gets ganked. This wouldn't have happened if you just died when you were supposed to!

You certainly are.

I'm sure this would be very sad, if I cared about any of these people.

Oh no! But how will I continue my let'splay?

Anyway we have to go find the Fire Emblem. Next on Ninian's Bizarre Randomizer:

This guy doesn't look too tough. I wager we can take him!
