30: Dual Disappointments

All right, this one isn't anything special.

If there's anything Ninian knows, it's thieves.

Turns out it was an ambush, oh no, whatever will i-

...yeah i know that's probably old by now but there's only so much material to work with.

Pascal is... eh.

This guy, however!

This guy has brought one! Whole! Iron sword! for us.

There are two ballistae by the starting area so...

Nice.

I could try to ride through this, but Bartre is right there.

(And Dorcas.)

I sent Sain towards the village where he'll be soloing the right side.

Ninian no longer fears swordslayers.

Crunch!

Some more dudes spawn but uh. They all have hammers. And they're not in range to even try to hit Florina.

We butcher them with little fanfare and a good level.

Dorcas onerounded the bishop for a less good, but quite acceptable one.

I don't know how many of these guys used to be brigands but hands off my village, miscreant!

This guy doubled Serra.

And devilled himself on the second hit.

I'm as disappointed as you are.

I'll take that!

More reinforcements spawn in. But before taking them on, let's hit that village...

...and find another character randomized as herself! And a supremely unhelpful promotion item. I don't need more of these!

Have a smear and an extremely dead monk.

And a good level!

Lucius ballistaed another monk who was sitting on that one ballista. Usually I believe those are all staffed by actual archers, but this is not terribly threatening.

Ninian on a fort, against axe users? Yeah.

Hell of a level to go out on! The only downside is now she can't get any better, and I still don't think it's worth losing 3 move on a unit like Ninian in order to get more stats.

We'll get to work on that soon.

Hi.

Nice try.

...also the longbow is a brave weapon apparently??? I've completely managed to miss that. That would make it slightly better! ...but only slightly.

Sain took on the boss on the second castle.

I really don't like how the pirate animation interacts with miss animations. That totally does not look like a miss! ...it's a problem I have with some fanmade animations, too.

Damn, missed the G! It's funny seeing Sain just facetank a bunch of magic, though.

...even if he got poison sworded in the process.

Pascal moves! ...still not terribly threatening. That's Matthew.

And this isn't impressive.

...and as if Karla in the village wasn't enough, here we have another character standing in for herself! A pegasus Farina, at that.

First, castle.

Then, Farina.

I saved up 20000 gold from the arena because I wanted to recruit her but like... why bother. It's just regular-ass Farina. And I'm going to have to buy more stuff at some point.

Dorcas healed Matthew's arrow holes. I think he's getting tired...

Definitely a brave weapon! That looks so odd.

So it is.

And this is bad.

Nino did better continuing the slaughter.

Fucking eclipse weapons!

Fucking reinforcements!!

...I mean I could win the map right now but... exp.

This guy spawned from the forts by Pascal's castle.

What are you doing you idiot!!!

There's been some stinkers, but Matthew got a good one so I guess that's fine.

...

All the enemies went for Sain so Farina doesn't die. Also I sent some more people to help clear up.

I'd have done this if you had been literally anything else. Alas.

We're done.

Somewhat justified

Terribly disappointing character reveals aside, there wasn't really anything to this, but perhaps we'll have more fun in the next chapter of Ninian's Bizarre Randomizer, where we...

...promote Serra...?
