UPDATE .5: TEST SHOT PART ONE

For this test update, I've decided to roll on the Mercenary RAT using the tool I mentioned in my opening post. It's an ok TO&E, but man am I glad that this is only a test post. I'd hate to roll with this for real. Also, there's a lot to go over, but I kinda wanna get this ball rolling, so...I'll save that for when I actually start my thread.

Anyway, what you're looking at now is the Active Personnel roster. This is our "who's who" of who we've hired. Right now we've got 26 people (12 MechWarriors, 12 MechTechs, one administrator, and one doctor). You can see that our MechWarriors have all been assigned their 'Mechs and their Techs, so no need to worry there. When things start to kick-off for the LP, I'll also assign people to 'Mechs, just so you know. This will be to cut down on people arguing over who rides on what horse, so to speak.

These are the people who have been selected to fight and (possibly) die for this Test Update. Their sacrifices will not be forgotten even though they totally will be by the time I'm ready to start my LP!

As you've already figured it out by now, I've already lined up a contract for us to look at. When we reach our destination, this will look a tad more lively. For right now, though, all it's good for is pointing us towards where we're going.

Which is what the interstellar map is for. We can zoom the map in and out as we wish to get a sense of just where we are in the Inner Sphere. As far as I'm aware, it doesn't change all that much except at key dates, probably to prevent schmucks like us from breaking canon. Kind of a bummer, but eh, it is what it is.

We advance time and then...

We reach our destination. I've already assigned the lances to their jobs, just to speed things up. Now, all we gotta do is wait for a few missions to pop up...by clicking the Advance Time button a few more times...

Until one pops up! Didn't take too long, and if memory serves, AtB rolls from week to week to see if new missions pop up.

Let's take a bit of a closer look at this, shall we? As you can see, our employer has sent someone to aid us. They're a decent MechWarrior in an...ok 'Mech, but man I wish they were in something heavier (so very glad this is a test shot; I've had bad experiences in previous campaigns with Phoenix Hawks, both in fighting with and fighting against them).

The OpFor, though...well, I know I wasn't expecting a good salvage haul...but a bunch of tanks? Seriously? Ok, whatever you say, RAT gods!

We advance time one more day, and then, it's time to do battle...
