2: Like A Truck

We have Duessel now - you don't actually need to talk to him or anything, he just has to live (and i'm honestly not sure if he can die) and now he wants axes. All of the axes.

And Ephraim wants chest keys in case there's another map with treasure on it!

Ready for the ghost ship!

Let's torch.

And pick Ephraim up-

i guess that would put out the torch, huh.

Oh well, Seth still doesn't need to see in order to kill!

And kill he shall.

Ugh.

Duessel's getting in on the action, too. I expect he'll catch up with Seth in def, but probably not speed.

uuughhhh where are you going?! There's a nice safe space between the masts, fucking use it!!

Duessel isn't invincible when so many enemies have magic, but he's not in any great danger still.

Unlike his inventory.

We're pushing to the last ship

but then L'Arachel fucking died.

I'll say!

I was so close to the end that i finished the map anyway. I was fully expecting to have to do it over to get Dozla, but it turns out i didn't! You just don't get L'Arachel as a playable unit if she goes down (but she's still very much alive so i'm okay with this outcome). That does also mean i missed showing a level or two, though.

But first off... We've been spoiled by Seth and Duessel who are some of the best units in the game, but Dozla's Not Good. He's slow, he's fragile, he's inaccurate, and he's not even all that strong. Axes mean he still hits hard, but... yeah.

This isn't a great look. Hand axes aren't any more accurate either.

...not that this is any better, but Duessel can do this forever until it lands.

Dozla needs elixirs.

Plural, yes.

That's a whole stack gone just like that! It's 3000 gold i'll never see again!!

This is including The Lost Level from the ship, don't say i never do anything for you!

...also looking back it was just hp, maybe i didn't just so much "miss" it as "try to suppress the memory of its existence"...

Dozla continues to disappoint.

You didn't miss any Seth levels.

Huh, forgot Zanbato Man.

There, he's gone now.

Seth's pushing on ahead, because he can.

Duessel's just a little slower.

Even Seth isn't immortal though. Time to grab another elixir!

We even get a Dozla level, and it's pretty good.

I'm firmly convinced no one has ever used Dozla before. Let us make history!

History, i say!!

And to facilitate that,

Hello, Dracoshield!

And since i forgot about this in the preps, here's the secret book i've been saving.

There we go.

Go, Dozla!

Here's the thing about Dozla: his bases are bad, but his growths aren't! He has 50 str, 40 spd, 30 def which is quite respectable compared to Ross and Garcia.

Let's see now... It's fairly unlikely he'll gib Marisa, and she... can't really do anything to him. So let's see if we can pick her up - not that i'm against murdering her for exp, but she has an elixir and that's worth money.

She crit him

OK fine get over here and

give me the fucking elixir!!

Dozla wants to be good.

He does pretty well against the boss on his own!

And even gets another level. He's landed four coinflips in a row on strength!

Oh yeah, and as always i forgot Amelia comes with a present.

Did i hear someone say "favouritism"?!

Anyway! Our party's up to three! Let's go!!

HONK HONK I'M A BERSERKER!

DON'T CARE!

I'M GETTING MY BERSERK ON!

Seth, somewhat less aggressively, goes right.

Dozla didn't get slept, and now,

you die!!!

Man if i had a tomahawk i could oneround Selena with her bolting. That's kind of embarrassing.

Dozla's low, though, so we'll elixir it up.

And keep killing! He missed str for the first time but his accuracy is still shaky and def is good.

His res is bad, but even the mages aren't doing a lot. They're not very good...

Selena hurts, though.

Meanwhile.

That hit rate is Not Good but Dozla's in no danger doing this, somewhat to my surprise! Those levels he got last map have made him pretty solid. I'll just heal again and sit here until everything suicides.

Heeeyyyy that's S axes for Duessel! I made sure he'd get it for Garm, but if i had realized Dozla would be so easy to raise i might have given him spears instead so i'd have as many S weapons available as possible. I'm pretty sure Syrene isn't going to get there!

Selena opted to bolting Seth halfway across the map instead of focusing on the giant angry axe man staring her right in the face. Fine, be that way!

Mood™

Back on the strength train again!

Duessel's not going nearly as fast as Seth, but he's getting there.

S T R E N G T H

Hey, these assholes again! Only this time, i have people who can charge.

No you don't!!

uuughhhh i guess maybe you will after all

HOW ABOUT THIs oh my god seth how does this happen twice in a row

But the pirate is in fight mode so even if he takes this tile for the avoid, he doesn't destroy the village.

Wasn't that bad, honestly!

And this is the last enemy on the map.

Honestly this is kind of a waste but favouritism, bitches!

But i decided to dump the luck on Seth because he's the best suited to facing high-crit enemies,

and also he has more HP so although no one has good res, he's probably the best mage killer, too.

Vigarde has stairs in his house, but he is not protected.

That is actually a lie, he has some pretty impressive defences and i'm going to give Seth a res boost because uh. Reasons that will become obvious.

Ugh, this asshole.

So about things becoming obvious!

There are two druids in the throne room. With six casts of berserk between them.

This went relatively smoothly in the bow run, but here? I have no one who can use staves.

And Seth's movement stat is like "yes, all of it".

So let's try again, a little differently.

The others are going left.

Unsurprisingly, the druid lands berserk again, but this time there are only enemies for him to attack so it doesn't accomplish anything i wasn't going to do anyway.

But here's A Big Problem because i can't get through the door without getting in Fuck You range, and i need Ephraim on the ground to recruit Rennac.

Hey it's res! Maybe he can avoid being berserked this time!!

Well he avoids sleep at least.

S T R E N G T H !

I prefer you trying for Dozla to be honest.

Seth is going to pure water it up again and see if we can maybe possibly handle this.

Duessel's really mad, but not mad enough to keep me from picking through his inventory to see what i want to keep.

Dodged it!

And Duessel's feeling better now.

No more sleep!

More pure water! These enemies need to die if i'm to have any chance.

But this time it didn't help.

I could try to bash my head against this for hours, but i'm just going to call it a lost cause. I don't need Rennac, like he's not a good unit or anything (and he's swordlocked like a loser) and i have keys. It's not worth trying to re-roll two berserk staves until they miss long enough to drop Ephraim and talk to Rennac without something going wrong (and you have to dodge the sleep staff jerk as well).

Meanwhile, since Seth is now a huge danger, the others will make themselves scarce.

Fortunately Seth doesn't drop Ephraim, because otherwise he'd just instantly skewer him again.

I could have used this, but oh well.

Sigh.

Back at it again, then.

Let's draw the rest of the berserks, i've got nothing to lose now!

...although that guy could hurt...

Berserks first, then.

No one can use this.

I didn't bother with pure waters, no idea what the hit rate is but this lands too.

That's the wrong way!

Let's bounce!!

Oh, it was the archer he was after.

Innes will like the longbow.

There!

It's over!

Let's keep going!

Almost done now.

Ephraim's going to use some of those chest keys he bought.

And i'm going to sell this to buy more elixirs because we go through them like candy.

After nine levels, Dozla finally got a bad one.

Duessel didn't.

There, just the boss left.

...hmmm.

Oh yeah, and this archer, too. Oh well, Ephraim will live.

That's three elixirs!

Seth started chipping for an amazing level.

But this isn't going well.

C'mon hurry it up!

We need better weapons.

But in the end, Duessel with a hammer manages to end Vigarde.

And we get Garm! It's so good.

...too bad the desert's next, huh...

Not everything's awful, though! We get two prepromotes this map!

Operation: Sit On A Fort Surrounded By Idiots was a huge success last time, so let's have a repeat.

The others head north.

Innes cleans house.

Saleh helps, too!

I foolishly stepped off the fort to kill a troub, and now i'm stuck

So nice to have more characters who can do things, though!

Without fort healing (and avoid/defence) Duessel's taking some damage, but Ephraim has all the elixirs.

...we may end up going through them all...

¡Heck!

Assuming they round down, that should be +1 speed.

This isn't going to go anywhere because lol hit rates but chip exp yay?

You're not going to move at all.

Siiigh.

Finally free, though!

Only for these jerks to come in and surround us again.

Can you believe Saleh doesn't come with a heal staff? I had to buy one!

Siiiigh...

Sssiiiiiiiighhhhhh

But hey! Experience!

Seriously! Never should have walked off that stupid fort.

I'd have got this just fine if i stayed on.

FUCKING FINALLY

And Seth is slowly wearing down Caellach with Saleh on heal duty.

I mean we could

but nah.

Seth's capped!

We don't have a rogue (thanks, Rennac) but just sitting around scratching our asses works too.

Gonna need this!

This probably not.

We're all already promoted, though...

Hmm, this troub has worn out her mend staff...

Yeeeesss...

Yyyyeeeeeesssssss

All mine!

and this trash i guess

You already know it.

Also Eirika had to send it because she's still full up on javelins.

Duessel's getting close to the cap, too!

Huh, not sure who wants this.

I know who's keeping this, though!

Dozla's luck is trash, but i gave him the hoplon guard so he can tangle with enemy berserkers now.

He can probably handle Valter too, but first...

There!

BERSERKER!

Strength

"I won't lift a finger for the whole rest of the game, hope you don't mind."

Eh i guess Innes needs this most, his level is fairly low and... he's an archer.

Objectively, Saleh would have been a better choice but shut your fuck up.

Saleh did get some love, though; this lets him Elfire without penalty.

(If i were any good, i'd have saved some stat boosters for Syrene so she maybe wouldn't suck quite as hard, but alas.)

We missed the member card but we did get the silver one, so now, CHEAP ELIXIRS! Gimme 20, and then, yo home to Renais!
