Week 10

Welcome to week 10, the second to last week in the White Heron Cup month! We have a running theme for this week, which is: 2nd quarter collapses that would make comebacks nearly impossible.

Luckily for us, game 1 was not such a game:

Game 1: Sreng @ Sacae

We have not actually been to the Sacae Center, to my knowledge. It’s one of my favorite places I’ve designed. The colors especially look nice and festive.

This is also the only place with an fe6 related advert, so that’s fun!

Sacae has struggled recently, with a slew of close losses. Sreng, on the other hand, has been keeping it consistent.

Charles Barkley got Sreng started:

Sacae would keep Sreng honest throughout the game, mostly on the back of Florina:

Sreng, on the other hand, tended to spread the ball around multiple scorers:

At the end of the 1st quarter, Florina would help Sacae keep it within 2 points.

Sreng would lead 22-20 at the end of the 1st.

Sacae would start the 2nd quarter with tough defense.

They managed to take a 4 point lead before Sreng started to up the physicality:

Sacae would, once again, lean on Florina:

But in the end, Sreng would actually extend their lead by halftime, 44-38.

The second half would start, predictably, with Florina scoring quickly:

However, Sreng would keep pace on the back of Shadow the Hedgehog:

He would score all 18 of his points in the 3rd, keeping Sreng up by 4, 66-62.

The 4th quarter was largely uneventful, with teams trading fouls and boring looking layups.

Eliwood would complete a triple double with this particular layup:

He finished the game with 11 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists.

On the other end, Charles Barkley would finish with a double double, with 24 points and 18 rebounds, including this layup near the end of the game:

Sreng would keep the consistency up, scoring 22 points in the first 3 quarters, and finishing with a 23 point 4th quarter. They would win a close game, 89-82.
