See that number below our name on the file select? That's our death count. ZC is being helpful by doing my job for me, and simultaneously being a pain cause if my death tally and it's death tally don't match up, then I caressed up and missed a death somewhere.

Thankfully, it's accurate, and totally not because I forgot to save after last time and had to replay everything over and fudge things up to make it accurate

We're at the respawn point for Trilby Peak right now. Time for a completion montage!

We can burn down these trees with our handy new fire rod. Did I mention that both the Fire Rod and Leaf are entirely new, completely scripted items? If not, then that's a thing you should know. The creators went all out with the small scope of this quest.

We can snag this piece that's been taunting us the entire game. Heart Pieces found: 2/4!

Same deal here! Heart Pieces found: 3/4!

Lastly, some pocket cash that we use to replace our shield.

: My dreams have been unpleasant since I had that vision. It makes me afraid to sleep sometimes...
: I keep seeing Akuma, hearing that awful, demonic voice... It gives me the chills just thinking about it...

: The third and final banana is located in the Tropical Autipelago to the Southwest. You'll need the ability to swim to get there. Perhaps check to the Southeast?

: Ooh! This is the Saber tech. It increases your attack until you get hit three times.
: To use it you press: Up, Up, Up, A

Neat! Let's test it.

Two transparent swords rotate around Moosh before he turns red. Finnigan also turns red too.

Sadly, it and shield don't stack. One will overwrite the other.

Orson said we should look to the southeast, so let's check out this grove with trees blocking us that we couldn't explore before.

Midboss.mp3

It's a miniboss zora!

It dives and resurfaces elsewhere, uses an attack, and repeat. It can fire a chain of triple shot fireballs (think Aquamentus from the Oracles and Zelda 1, but multiple times in a row)...

Fireballs in random directions that stop and redirect towards Link after a second...

Or even a spiral of fireballs!

It's no match for us with our new saber tech, and it leaves behind...

Flippers!

Now we can finally swim!

Time to explore the massive ocean! It's still the same overworld theme as the main overworld, so lemme relink that now.

Overworld.mp3

Another heart piece tantalizing us so...

And there's this weird temple thing out here. I guess that's the next dungeon!

Over here we find some stairs that let us back up onto land.

Going up leads nowhere, but going right leads into the village and a cave we couldn't access before!

Killing these guys doesn't do anything. Hmm...

Probably a good idea to mention that, like the Oracles and LA, you can dive with the flippers to avoid damage and whatnot. You can't attack back, but it's handy, and I'm totally not bringing it up right now in a convenient fashion for a reason...

Heart Pieces found: 4/4! Clever hiding spot. You have to dive right in the cross-section of the 4 mini islands. New heart container for us!

Stop taunting me with heart pieces game! :anger:

No waterfall secrets... aww.

Another island!

I tried everything on this switch, but nothing we have works. We'll have to come back later.

Oh boy, a whirlpool maze.

Taking a whirlpool will alternate you between two screens at the exact same position. It's not too complicated as long as you're good at mazes.

We reach the end fairly quickly.

Heart Pieces found: 1/4! 4 Heart pieces in a single update, wow! (remember, we started with 1/4 this update)

On the way back, I notice that one of the water tiles looks a bit odd.

20 dollars for me.

Way back at the temple island, we have this patch of land, and a very suspicious wall.

Bingo.

Dodge some traps... (the dive is very handy here)

And cut some ropes.

We're up!

Another switch we can't deal with yet...

We've explored pretty much the entire overworld, so have a grand view of it all!

So all we have left is the dungeon.

Let's tackle it now!

(To be continued...)
