Game 5: Valla @ Hoshido

Do you remember the Talking Heads song ‘Once in a Lifetime’? Do you ever feel like the character David Byrne is singing about?

Do you think the Valla coach is feeling like that right now?

If you want to talk about feeling lost, there’s no better team than the Hoshido Honor; who, after essentially locking themselves out of the playoffs, have decided to start winning, ruining their chances of a solid draft pick!

Hinoka has once again provided some very good numbers for her team, scoring 6 points early and providing assists for others:

On the other side, Valla struggled to even make free throws:

But they would crawl back a little bit:

But Hoshido had all the momentum:

And at the end of the quarter, topped it all off with this:

It doesn’t get much better than that!

Hoshido leads, 12-25.

The 2nd quarter continued Hoshido’s onslaught:

Oboro, Takumi, and Hinoka would each score in double digits in this quarter: 11, 10, and 10 respectively.

Valla fought valiantly:

But the half would end with Hoshido doubling down on their dominance, leading 30-56.

Valla would actually score first in the 3rd quarter, in what would be a very low scoring quarter.

Just 6 shots were actually made in the quarter, most of the scoring came off of free throws.

Hoshido would extend the lead by 1, 47-74.

The 4th quarter was just academic. For all of the surprise wins that Valla has accumulated, they couldn’t seem to get anywhere close to Hoshido:

Who put down the hammer and secured their 17th win of the season, sitting 6 games out of the playoff hunt and now 8 games ahead of the worst record.

Hoshido wins handily: 59-94.
