Models from the Vanilla game will always be on the left and the Final Mix variations will be on the right.

Shadow
Journal Entry: Heartless that emerge from various places. They sneak up to their enemies and strike them with sharp claws. They are extremely tenacious, often chasing their prey to the end.

Soldier
Journal Entry: Heartless that emerge from various places. They are brisk in their movements, and rush into their opponents. However, they are not that tenacious. They often appear in numbers, though they lack teamwork.

Red Nocturne
Journal Entry: Spellcasting Heartless. While hovering about, they attack by casting Fire. Having low HP, they keep their distance from their opponents, making them difficult to attack. They absorb fire attacks.

Large Body
Journal Entry: Big round Heartless. They seem tame and laid-back, but go berserk when they are angered. With their brute strength, they can inflict great damage, so be on your guard.

Powerwild
Journal Entry: Heartless resembling a monkey. With great physical strength and agility, they often strike with combination attacks. Avoid close-range battles with them if possible.

Bouncywild
Journal Entry:Heartless resembling a monkey. Unlike Powerwilds, they attack from long range with a sling shot. They scamper about during battle, making them difficult to hit.

White Mushroom
Journal Entry: Non-attacking, friendly Heartless. They might give you an item if you help them.
Additional Info: These Heartless are defeated a bit differently than normal. They will show you a mood based on one of the useable magics in the game and you must cast that magic on them to score an experience point. If you do this three times you will be rewarded with MP balls and other items. If you use three of the same magic you will get the "arts" for that magic, possibly a Mystery Goo and possibly a shard or higher of the magic that was cast on the 'Shroom. There are Fire Arts, Thunder Arts, Blizzard Arts, etc and the Mystery Goo was an item that was only vendor trash in the original release of Kingdom Hearts but in the HD remasters it has become a synthesis item. If you cast an incorrect magic on them then they will get angry and teleport off and you won't get any reward. I will show the Fire, Blizzard, Thunder and Cure moods here in gifs created by Anaxite and future moods will be shown in the relevant updates.
Casting the Wrong Magic (Angry):

Fire Mood (Shivering):

Blizzard Mood (Fanning Self):

Thunder Mood (Sun Overhead?):

Cure Mood (Knocked Out):

Gravity Mood (Floating):

Stop Mood (Frozen in Place):

Aero Mood (Spinning):

Black Ballade
Journal Entry: A Heartless that confuses its enemy by creating projections of itself. If the copies are attacked, it will resort to counterattacks and eventually run away. However, if it is attacked directly and relentlessly...
Additional Info: The name of the game with this Heartless is "Shell Game" or "Guess Which Cup". As you can see in the provided gifs the Black Ballade will appear and when the game begins the original will pop up and then cast Kage Bunshin No Jutsu, or Shadow Clone Jutsu if you aren't weeb enough. The original and the clones will then move around very quickly before settling back into formation. Your job is to keep your eye on the original and smack the original once all of them are lined up again. If you get it right it will drop MP Balls and possibly a Lightning Stone synthesis item. If you get it wrong then the Black Ballade will shock and the round will restart. The more times you guess correctly the more likely you are to get a Lightning Stone. He won't stick around forever though and will also go away if you guess wrong too many times.
Guessing Right:

Guessing Wrong:

Journal Entry: Heartless that mostly appear in Halloween Town. Their jerky, dancelike attack moves are fairly easy to dodge, but cause large damage.

Gargoyle
Journal Entry: Winged Heartless that mostly appears in Halloween Town. They can move from one place to another almost without notice. Since they are prone to sneak attack, they often get caught off guard by counter attacks.

Rare Truffle
Journal Entry: Non-attacking Heartless that are rarely found. They like to jump, so helping them stay in the air may bring good things.

Jet Balloon
Journal Entry: A Heartless similar to the Aquatank. It flies through the air with tremendous speed. Chasing it will lead to a perilous aerial battle as it unloads its Missile Driver attack, an attack similar to the Screwdriver. Its heinous nature attracts them to prey who carry lots of munny.

Journal Entry: Heartless born purely out of darkness. Their movements are unpredictable, as they often make sudden moves and attacks.

Wyvern
Journal Entry: Giant Heartless that attack from the air. They are quite swift for their size and are hard to attack, especially while they are high in the air. Counterattacking when they come down would be most effective.

Wizard
Journal Entry: Heartless that attack with various powerful spells. Eludes enemy attacks by teleporting, making them tough to beat.
Useful Tip: These Heartless can (rarely) drop a pretty good staff for Donald as one of their drops.

Pink Agaricus
Journal Entry: A colossal Heartless called forth by euphoric White Mushrooms. A dancer by nature, once it starts dancing, it can't stop.
Additional Note: This is another Final Mix exclusive Heartless. The best strategy for this one is the one I showed off in the video, but if you haven't watched it then the TLDR is as follows.
1. Fight it in Deep Jungle, for cripe's sake. Trying to fight it in Atlantica (the only other world it can spawn in is impossible as you can't do Limits in Atlantica.
2. Trap Donald and Goofy outside the Tree House by landing on the platform with the tall ladder leading to the top and using a summon. Preferrably Bambi.
3. Once you have refilled your MP gauge with either items or Bambi's MP orb drops then Dismiss your summon.
4. Make sure the camera is positioned so that you are looking in the direction of the platform Donald and Goofy are on. This will prevent them from teleporting in to join the battle because if they hit the Agaricus then it will despawn.
5. Target the top of the Agaricus and cast your highest level Stop spell. This is best done with Stopga, but can be done with Stopra. You will just want at least Stopra because of the duration of how long it will last.
6. Immediately use your Ragnarok limit.
7. As soon as you have dropped to the ground from Ragnarok, jump up and start comboing.
8. Cast Ragnarok again as soon as you are able to.
9. PROFIT! This should get you pretty damn close to 100 hits which will guarantee you the Serentity Power synthesis material and if you got 100 hits you will also get a Prime Cap accessory.

Sniper Wild
Journal Entry: A Heartless resembling a monkey. It roams as it pleases, rarely paying attention to its surroundings. If Sora is spotted, it will call forth numerous allies, all armed with slingshots.
Additional Note: The strategy for this Final Mix exclusive is also explained in the video but here is a TLDR if you haven't watched it yet.
1. Cast Stop/ra/ga.
2. Attack
3. Destroy it before it can see you as the Sniper Wilds act like Metal Gear: Solid guards and tons of Sniper Wilds will start spawning if you are noticed.
4. Rinse and repeat until you have obtained all of the Power Stone synthesis items you need. Note that the pattern will continue until you have killed 30 Sniper Wilds and then everything will reset back to the original as if you had just walked into Second District.

Stealth Soldier
Journal Entry: A stealthy Heartless similar in appearance to a Soldier. It appears alongside other Heartless and deals attacks from afar. Although a troublesome enemy, it shows itself once its weakness is uncovered.
Additional Note: It is literally invisible until you have dealt enough damage to it. The only way you will know it is there is if you constantly switch targets and eventually the reticle settles on something that doesn't appear to actually be there.

Invisible
Journal Entry: Heartless wielding a large sword. These winged Heartless can move freely through the air. Besides their sword, they attack with their tail and wings. With their high attack power, they often defeat their foes quickly.

Angel Star
Journal Entry: Flying Heartless that cast potent spells. They are born of holy spells. They attack from long range with magic. They block physical attacks with their wings, making them difficult to defeat.

Arch Behemoth
Journal Entry: A Behemoth subspecies. Although similar in appearance to the Behemoth, it lacks their aptitude. However, it shares their strengths and weaknesses.
Additional Note: Take note that this enemy has a 5% chance to drop an additional Omega Arts accessory. You may (or may not) consider it worth your time to try and get it to drop it.

Neoshadow
Journal Entry: A Heartless that travels in packs. Combining their powers allows them to attack Sora while also healing themselves. Leaving even just one alive will result in a never-ending battle.
Additional Info: The journal is actually kind of on point for this on when it says the battle will on forever if even one is left alive. Basically, the battle with the Neoshadows starts with seven of them
and changes as more are defeated. At the beginning they are vulnerable to Stop magic but that only lasts until you finish stage one of the fight.

After there are only four Neoshadows remaining, they change tactics and sink into shadowy portals that appear beneath them on the ground. Afterwards, nine of these portals will appear around Sora, and the Neoshadows will choose
random portals to jump out of and attack simultaneously. After attacking, they land on the ground for a brief moment, then the portals reappear beneath them and they sink back into the ground. The only time they can be hurt at this
stage is right when they land on the ground, before the portals appear beneath them once again. If a single blow connects with one of them, it opens a short window to execute a combo. At this point, Stop magic no longer affects them.

Once there are only two Neoshadows left, they change tactics once more. In this stage of the fight, a single Neoshadow will wander around the room, and has access to all the attacks and abilities of the
earlier stages (instead of several portals appearing on the ground like stage two of the fight, the Neoshadow will just use it as a way to get close to Sora to attack him). It also retains the immunity to Stop magic.
While this Neoshadow attacks Sora, the other one appears as a black portal beneath Sora, then partially emerges from it to grab Sora's leg, which prevents him from moving, attacking, or using magic for a brief period.
To counter this, Sora can jump when the portal appears beneath him, but cannot hurt this Neoshadow in any way. Instead, Sora must focus on the other Neoshadow that moves around the room, and attempt to kill it instead.

When there is a single Neoshadow remaining, it will move to the center of the room and attempt to summon more Neoshadows. Six portals will appear on the ground in a circle around it, and new Neoshadows will appear within them,
attempting to climb out of the portals back into the room. Instead of going after the last remaining Neoshadow, Sora must focus his attacks on the ones emerging from the portals, who will emerge as fully healed Neoshadows after
several seconds. Once the emerging Neoshadows are slain, Sora can direct his attention to the final Neoshadow, and defeat it to end the fight. If Sora fails to defeat the new Neoshadows after a certain amount of time, they will emerge
from the portals and the fight will reset to whichever stage corresponds to the new number of Neoshadows (7-5 for Stage 1, 4-3 for Stage 2, or 2 for Stage 3).

Darkside
Journal Entry: Enormous Heartless that appeared in Destiny Islands with Shadows. It led the Shadows in the battle against Sora when he first received the Keyblade. Although Sora defeated it, the island was swallowed by the darkness.

Guard Armor
Journal Entry: Leader of the Heartless in Traverse Town. It falls apart when it receives damage, but each part attacks individually. Sora meets Donald and Goofy for the first time just before fighting this Heartless.

Trickmaster
Journal Entry: Heartless that Sora and company encounter while they searched for Alice. His herky-jerky attacks and juggling act flustered Sora and the others.

Stealth Sneak
Journal Entry: Heartless that attuned to the darkness in Clayton's heart. It somehow manipulated the light to turn invisible and fought alongside Clayton.

Opposite Armor
Journal Entry: Heartless that guards the keyhole in Traverse Town. It is a modified form of Guard Armor, but is more powerful.

Pot Centipede
Journal Entry: Heartless called by Jafar to stop Aladdin. Its long body is composed of a number of Pot Spiders linked together. Even if its body comes apart, it can regenerate itself by gathering other pots.

Parasite Cage
Journal Entry: Heartless that appeared inside Monstro. It's known to swallow its enemies. Sora and the others rescue Pinocchio, who was trapped inside it.

Behemoth
Journal Entry: Immensely powerful Heartless. With their large frame, they trample enemies, and repel most attacks. Damaging their weak point makes them lose consciousness. Strike them with potent attacks while they are down.

Phantom
Journal Entry: Ghostlike Heartless who haunted the clock tower standing far away from Neverland. Fluttering his eerie cloak, he cast a spell to take Sora's heart.
Having no physical body, regular attacks were useless, but in the end Sora and company discovered his weakness and prevailed.
Trivia: This Heartless is actually based on Lord Umbra from the book Peter and the Shadow Thieves which was a continuation of the story of Peter Pan that was published by Disney.

Kurt Zisa
Journal Entry: Heartless who emerged from the Keyhole opened by the princesses. He swung his six powerful arms to attack Sora and company and block their attacks. But Sora sought out his weakness and emerged the victor.

These are the magic lessons as provided per episode by Anaxite.

The Magic system

The Kingdom Hearts magic system is all about spells you learn as you play the game, then cast at the cost of Magic Points. In the pause menu, you can assign up to three spells to use at any given time. These spells are accessed by going into the Magic command menu during gameplay, then pressing the correct button.

In the first Kingdom Hearts, the MP Gauge has two parts: the yellow Charge gauge and the main blue gauge. A single segment of each is one MP. The Charge gauge is filled by striking enemies or specific targets, picking up MP orbs, or getting hit with the MP Rage ability equipped. When the Charge gauge fills up up through the first empty segment in the main gauge, that segment is filled, and the Charge gauge is reset. Using a spell or certain abilities will cost one or more segments of either the Charge gauge or the main gauge, but the Charge gauge will be used up first.

The MP Gauge not only determines how many spells you can get, but how powerful your spells (and one or two other things) are.

Fire
An attack spell granted by Donald after defeating the Guard Armor in Traverse Town. Using the spell shoots out a single fireball forward from the tip of the Keyblade at the cost of one MP Gauge unit. The fireball will attempt to home in on the nearest enemy, or the locked-on enemy.
Power: Max MP + 20

Thunder
An attack spell learned after completing Phil's barrel challenge from the Olympus Coliseum. The spell summons a barrage of lightning bolts from above to strike multiple surrounding enemies at the cost of one MP Gauge unit.
Power: (Max MP * 2) + 16

Blizzard
An attack spell granted by the Cheshire Cat in Wonderland. Using the spell shoots out a spreading burst of ice crystals from the tip of the Keyblade, like a shotgun blast, at the cost of one MP Gauge unit. The burst can hit multiple enemies.
Power: Max MP + 22

Cure
A restorative spell granted after defeating Clayton and the Stealth Sneak. The spell restores a little health to one party member.
Power: Max MP + 15

Aero
A defensive spell obtained after defeating the Opposite Armor in Traverse Town. The spell creates a wind barrier around a party member that decreases incoming damage by half.
Duration: Max MP + 18 (in seconds)

Gravity
A spell that forms a miniature event-horizon that crushes its target, reducing their HP by a set fraction and rendering them temporarily defenseless to further attacks. The fraction of HP depleted by Gravity is based on Sora's magic strength, and it is possible to deal 100% damage if the spell isn't resisted by its target.
Power: [(Max MP x 5) + 40]%

Fira
The improved fireball launching spell. Now with more damage and better homing capability.
Power: Max MP + 28

Blizzara
The improved ice shotgun spell. Now with more damage and wider spread.
Power: Max MP + 27

Duration: Max MP + 2 (in seconds)

Thundara
The improved Thunder magic with greater Area of Effect and more damage.
Power: (Max MP x 2) + 20

Cura
It's Cure but better.
Power: Max MP + 27

Gravira
So you have Gravity and this is more so.
Power: [(Max MP x 5) + 55]%

Stopra
Same effect as its previous incarnation of "Stop", the notable difference is that its duration is longer and the area-of-effect is bigger.
Duration: Max MP + 2 (in seconds)

Aerora
More help from the power of Wind. Now, though, it will also do damage over time on contact with an enemy. That's what I call an upgrade.
Duration: Max MP + 18 (in seconds)
Power: (Max MP * 2) + 8

Aeroga
The final evolution of the power of Wind. Now, not only does the spell reduce damage you take and do damage over time on contact, it will also deflect projectiles. Yeah, it's pretty good.
Duration: Max MP + 18 (in seconds)
Power: (Max MP * 2) + 8

Firaga
The ultimate form of fire magic for Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix. This has the most potent power and homing capability of all of the levels of fire magic.
Power: Max MP + 36

Curaga
The ultimate healing magic for Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix.

Stopga
The most powerful of the time magics for Kingdom Hearts Final Mix. It has the largest area-of-effect.

Blizzaga
The top of the line of Ice magic.
Power: Max MP + 34

Thundaga
The best Thunder magic that can be obtained.
Power: (Max MP x 2) + 26

Graviga
Make Isaac Newton your bitch.
Power: [(Max MP x 5) + 70]%

Alright this is the first time we are talking about Summons. To be honest they work very similarly to a combination of summons from before FFX and the summons from FFXII. What I mean is that when you summon help it replaces your party members (except for when Tinker Bell, who is a special case) and they hang around for a while and you tell them to attack but they will also only hang around for so long. Honestly, the closest comparison would probably be to how summons work in the FFVII Remake. Anyways, let's talk about our current summon list.

Simba
Proud Roar: After charging up, Simba let's loose a roar for damage dependent on charge time. If you charge up 1 or 2 units you will get a normal type Proud Roar attack. Charge up 3 or 4 units for a KO type Proud Roar attack that can stun enemies. Charge up a full 5 units for a Gravity type Proud Roar attack (over 300% damage) that eliminates every enemy on the map.

Genie
Showtime: Lock-on to a target and the Showtime command will become available in the 4th slot in Sora's command menu. Use Showtime and Genie will perform a continuous stream of attacks. Genie will hit all enemies within a given range, as indicated by his face icon on the targets. Using Showtime decreases Genie's MP gauge by 1 MP. Genie's Showtime is a combination of different attacks. Genie casts Gravity, Thunder, and Stop magic, and also shoots out pink, yellow, and blue energy balls. The yellow energy ball sometimes stuns enemies. The pink and blue energy balls are normal type attacks.

Tinker Bell
Regen + Autolife: When Tinker Bell heals a party member, the amount of HP recovered is equal to Sora's MP stat. Tinker Bell rotates between your 3 party members, healing one person at a time. She heals someone about once every 2 seconds. Tinker Bell prevents Sora from being KO'd, but only once. If Sora's HP falls to zero, Tinker Bell immediately restores all of Sora's HP and leaves the battle. There is no delay in the battle when Tinker Bell revives Sora.

Bambi
Item Drop: Bambi prances about the area, dropping large quantities of MP orbs in the process. If a certain amount of enemies are defeated while Bambi is in play then Bambi will make a great leap and drop a special item.

Mushu
Fire Power: Mushu appears on Sora's head and spits fireballs from his mouth at his targets. While Sora is using him, he cannot attack directly but rather let Mushu attack from a distance. Mushu's fireballs are ineffective against those that are immune to fire magic.
