Update 45: My Last Resort

This update isn’t gonna tackle a lot of major side stuff, we’re just gonna clean up some sidequests and other minor stuff before we head into Tokyon. First up, this quest.

The destination for this one should be very obvious.

This is also probably a great time to check up on Zeza Port in general.

Doesn’t look like things are going too well here...

Just staying alive takes all we've got...

I can’t answer the first question, but we’ll do our best to ensure that the answer is a resounding yes to the second!

Protect your family from the world's perils!

Tch, you don’t know that for sure. Even if there’s a small chance of surviving, we should take it!

But, if you find any new data, let me know and I'll rerun my calculations!

Her dialogue was mistranslated, she’s not actually that behind the times like this. What she meant to say was:

Even with Pleroma’s tech and the power of the Rushe, we couldn’t beat that dragon. But the new data we got should let us start some new calculations!

Will the Dragons ever be finally gone?
If I have anything to say about it, yes! ...Eventually.

I've got good ones, and less good ones. Which do you want? Quality fish for 1000 G!

You can either buy it or not, but let’s see the other choices.

Average fish for 500 G!
Uh, no thanks.
Sardine, 10 G.
At that price, I don’t trust the quality of that fish.
Huh... Not buying after all?

Obviously the correct choice is to buy the best quality fish. The only reason to buy the others is if you’re penny pinching to the extreme.

We’ll take the best fish you have!
Any time! Be sure to eat it while it's still fresh!

No matter which fish you bought, they all have the same name and description. Incidentally if you’re not on the quest to buy some Zeza fish, he says this instead.

I mean, I'm really outta money anyway...
...Really?
Uhhh, good luck with that.

If you get it, you might even be able to tangle with Niara!
We’re gonna to have to find it first, which is the problem.

Let us know if you succeed in that endeavor.

Even if we beat it, it'll come back tougher.
Not if we make sure to end it for good this time!

That’s all for Zeza Port. Let’s get to delivering that fish.

Yes, eat up.

Fade to black.

I can end my life now with no regrets.
Wait what!? Oh no, were we too late!?

Slow fade to black.

...Are you awake? I don’t think lying there forever is a good idea.

After eating, I feel like I can get back up!

You were just suffering from extreme hunger. Your body was running low on energy as a result. Easy to confuse with dying, I know.

Incidentally, I really don’t recommend putting your body through that kind of strain again. It’s not healthy for you.

Let me thank you...

I would definitely say so if you collapsed like that. Try not to do that again.

And that’s it. Incidentally buying the other kinds of fish changes the result here. It’s definitely worthwhile to buy the best fish for him, as Miracle Medicine costs 3,000 G to buy, so we saved 2,000 G by doing so. If you bought him the average fish, he’d say this for his thank you line instead:

Thanks to you, I'm saved. Take this as thanks.

You’d get a Ronam Flute as thanks instead. Which isn’t that great of a prize, and actually loses you money since the fish cost 500 G, but the Flute cost 300 G. And if you gave him the sardine:

You saved my life. Thank you.

You get nothing as thanks. Saving that 990 G was sure worthwhile, huh?

A simple quest with decent enough rewards.

Well that patch of Bloom chose to regrow in a really awkward spot, huh?

Sometimes the Bloom regrowth will target patches of land that it can’t grow on, which thankfully makes clearing those patches of regrowth out less annoying.

Next up is the Basho District. There’s a point of interest to check out here.

This woman pops up after Niara makes his introduction.

It was a place to relax and be refreshed. You can see what the Dragons have done. And the Soulcannon has killed so many. ......... I feel like it's over. But we're still fighting. And I'm still alive. So I want to continue rebuilding, somehow.

This quest can be completed now, and is what we’re going to be doing in a bit.

Then allow us to help.

One quick trip to a nearby quest office later...

But I keep failing and I'm running low. Can the people of Miross explain how to grow these plants here?
I think we know someone there who could help...

It’s a pretty difficult task, and she’s had no success. You wouldn’t happen to know how to help, would you?
Water is first and foremost. It won't grow unless you water frequently. Next is Chilled Jelly. Put under the soil, it will insulate the plant. However, desert soil also lacks many nutrients. Smelly Liver and Thick Blubber... That'll fertilize it. Plow the soil well. Hopefully, that'll let you grow in the desert. If you do manage to grow there, tell me!

Thank you very much for your assistance.
Let’s get back to her and tell her what we just found out.

I'm sorry to impose, but can you help collect it? I can handle the water. That leaves Chilled Jelly, Smelly Liver, Thick Blubber. I want you to bring those. I'll keep tilling the soil!

Chilled Jelly can be obtained from Liquid Titaniums in Devo Desert. Smelly Livers can be received as a drop from Redfishes in the ocean. Finally, Thick Blubber can be found by killing Tree Lions in either Melluride Mines, or Mt. Jomaron.

I'm grateful to you.

This is a big favor.

This must be it.

Now all that remains is to patiently garden.

And that’s all for this quest. Sort of. See, I actually messed up, locking me out of the best ending for this quest. How so?

quote:

So remember this moment all the way back in update 5? Where I picked the flower after driving away 2 waves of monsters? Yeah turns out you weren’t supposed to do that. If you don’t pick the flower, the outcome of this quest very slightly differs since the Pondering Woman will come here to help out if you left the flower alone. So as for the differences, the Upright Woman’s line before the quest completes is this instead:

Now all that remains is to patiently garden. Well, I could use help...

Second part is slightly mistranslated, it’s “Well, there are others helping out.”

The Pondering Woman will come here to Basho and talking with her has her say this while the quest is going on:

Rita's guild spoke with the gardener and asked me to come here. Rather than dwelling on the past, building a new future... it sounds nice.

And after you complete the quest, she’ll have this to say:

I want this land to be crowded with flowers and people. I'll try hard! You helped me to realize it... let me give you this.

You get a Heal Aerosol for that. Yep, that’s it. It’s nothing major, but it’s a missable nonetheless.

Talking to the gardener after turning in the quest has him say this. Uh, sure dude.

Either way, another simple fetch quest down.

While we’re here, let’s check in on the Border Camp.

We need to concentrate our scattered forces on the north pole at once.
I see one very big problem with that plan. Do you have any plans on how to get past the Rainbow? Because you’re just sending those troops to their deaths if you can’t kill it. Yes I realize what just came out of my mouth, but it’s the truth!
As absurd as it sounds, we really do need to find a way to deal with that... monstrosity, if we want to get to Niara.
Our best bet may be to stick with our current plan and deal with Haze first. I’m certain the Rainbow isn’t a True Dragon, or Pleroma would have picked up on it. If we can deal with Haze, surely a way to deal with the Rainbow will show up.

Be glad that you get to live another day instead of wishing for an end like that.

And that’s all for the Border Camp.

Let’s see how Nevanplace is faring after that tragedy.

Even at a time like this, we're proud warriors, and we'll fight to the end!
Well, good to hear some people still have a positive outlook here.
They’ll need it. This place is definitely a lot more empty...
To think that many people fed themselves to that machine.

There are less NPCs around since a good portion of the population here sacrificed themselves in the attack on Niara.

Things must be so complicated for him...

But, this... I can't come to terms with it...
You know in hindsight, having Emille be Santa Claus was a bad idea.
We really probably should have gone with someone else.

I'm gettin' excited! Someone strong to test my skill against!
All I can say is, good luck with that.
Especially with the part where you have to reach Niara in the first place.

They were just pranks, but I wonder if he left because of them...
...They just left this kid behind without a word or left any backup care? Really? Tch, the nerve!

Tell me what I should be doing...

The girl slowly walks into the building.

This quest can technically be completed now, but it involves visiting a dungeon we haven’t been to yet.

I don't know if I'm shivering from fear, or just the cold...ha.
Mm, at least put that duvet to good use. Would be a waste not to in these times.

Mistranslation, it should be:

Waaaah... waaaahh... Everyone is gone...

I know the feeling, but we must look straight ahead, not at the past.
I understand your sentiments, but it may be a bit too recent to be spouting that publicly among the residents here.

But if we act sad, it'll just be harder on our parents. So... ...I'm gonna get you! Eeeeeeeeee!

The wind is harsh and cold now, but it'll be warm in the spring... ...Okay, time in! Whoosh, whoosh!
Children having to grow up faster than they need to in times like this is a saddening sight.
If it’s any consolation, they’ve got good heads on their shoulders about this whole affair. This shouldn’t have to happen in the first place though...

I shook his hand, and he laughed.

What kind of research is it to sacrifice lives?!

I guess the Rushe scholars there weren’t in on that.
Tch, I wonder how many of them would have even agreed to that scheme.

I think... it's hope.

That would be a major understatement.

There was no timespan listed in the Japanese text for this guy for obvious reasons.

Feh, all those sacrifices and they couldn’t even make it work right!
What’s done is done. We’ll have to hope the attack bought us enough time to make what happened there not in vain.

However, this isn't over yet! This is the real battle. See how Rushe fight!

A sad day when you can no longer drink with friends.

Well. Got your wish, huh?

Eh heh... it's because all I've done is talk to you. You better go...

That second sentence is a bit of a non-sequitur. That’s because the original textbox here was actually:

Eh heh... I’ve always had everyone help me. I wonder if I can handle this place on my own from now on.

Whatever... Whatever you do, save us from the Dragons!
We’ll be sure to accomplish that! You have our word.

Um...
Oh, sorry... I was lost in thought.

She's perfect!
Even in a place so tied with that tragedy, some people’s priorities never change.

I suppose all these blacksmithing tools will just go unused until they find new workers.

Sierra... What will she do when that happens?

Seems some people were left behind to help support what remained here.
Good to ensure that this empire wouldn’t flounder entirely in the aftermath.

...And masks your tears.

That’s all we can do in Nevanplace.

Next we’ll check out this place. If you have a Dagger Rogue, you’ll want to come here as soon as you can after Niara’s arrival.

Might as well have a look around.

Never mind, this was a bad idea.
I have to wonder how they operated this thing under these conditions.
More than likely this structure is just non-functional now. It’s served its purpose.

OW! What the- Oh hey, I think something got left behind here.
Let’s just get out, I doubt there’s anything else here for us.

This must have been the King’s personal dagger.
Ooh, might as well put it to good use, I’m sure Ark will love this!
Wouldn’t this be a form of graverobbing...?
Probably, but we might as well take any advantage we can get over the dragons at this point. Not like they can use this anymore.
...She’s rubbing off on you all too much.

The Carinvenha is the ultimate Dagger, the best weapon for Dagger Rogues. And for grave robbing a war site, you just get it for free in late-game once Niara arrives. It only has 120 ATK, but a Dagger Rogue’s passives boosts that massively up to 240! As insult to injury, it has a 20% chance to inflict a status resistance debuff on regular attacks which applies a 120% multiplier to all ailment multipliers, which lasts for 10 turns. Making it easier for a Dagger Rogue to inflict ailments. Of course Status Down from an Axe Fighter is a better option since the multiplier can go higher and it’s guaranteed to slap on the debuff, but if you don’t have that class, this is an option for that.

Let’s see how the mine workers are doing.

The kid struggles.

Argggghh...

Not much has changed here.

But how about the workshop?

But, they all perished in the Soulcannon... sob!

But, with the masters gone, I wonder if their knowledge is lost...

Since I saw it, I haven't lifted my hammer. Not me, not Bernard...
Oh dear... It seems this workshop is essentially non-functional for the time being.

My teacher offered up his own life to fight the Dragons... Why couldn't I do the same, he was allowed to!

...That's too bad. Hm... how long will things be this way?

A pause.

Here, I'll repair it. I don't want anyone else to die today...
Can I ask you something?

Sierra hands Bernard the armor.

This armor isn't mine. I'm here on someone else's behalf. I want you to take him on as apprentice.

Uhhh, going from the subject of armor repair to taking on an apprentice? That’s a non-sequitur and also not what she originally said.

This armor isn't mine. I'm here on someone else's behalf. I asked him to pick it up himself when you’re done.

Sierra leaves.

So we’ve started another sub-event, talk to Bernard after Niara’s arrival to initiate it.

Let’s talk to Bernard again.

At this point, rather than repair it, we need to make a new set... But that'll take materials. Hey, sorry to bug you, but think you could get the necessary stuff?

We can complete this quest now.

What's needed is Weathered Hide, 4 of them. Please consider it!
Of course, we’ll be happy to help.

Weathered Hides are dropped from Mammoths. You can find them within or right outside the Tower of the Gods.

We’ve got those in our inventory, so let’s make the delivery.

Thanks for helping out. As a thank you, I left some goods at the Office. This is the home stretch. Time to make that armor!

In the name of Gaion, time to make that armor!
We wish you luck.

The Knight’s Curiass is a very nice upgrade. Great defense and reduces physical damage by 5%. However only Fighters and Knights can equip this. It’s not the best defensive armor in the game, but it’s a worthwhile option. I put this on Buront.

Now that we’ve turned this quest in, let’s see how Bernard is getting on with those repairs.

This is my own work. Rather than repair it, I reforged it.
What?!
That armor was junk! Past repairing! You needed a new set. And I think you'll grow to appreciate it. I guarantee it.

I could care less about your new experiment! Fix my dang armor!

Bernard backs away for a bit before moving back forward.

No... no way! I'm not giving you that junk! You need my armor!
YOU! That junk saved my life a buncha times!

Belittle it and you're belittling him! I won't stand for that!!

Sierra pulls Jake back.

But, this chump just messed up my armor!
I said CALM DOWN!!

...Blacksmith, I know you have your pride. However... this guy is stubborn as all hell. Help me out here.

Bit of a mistranslation, her statement doesn’t get across the gist and tone of this sub-event properly.

...Blacksmith, I know you have your pride. And even though he’s stubborn, if he doesn’t like the armor you made, wouldn’t you say that you failed to live up to this request?
Well, that's...
Just this once. Think it over. See you later.

This actually should be:

Based on what I just said, I want you to consider working on that armor again. We’ll come around later.

Sierra shoves Jake to the workshop’s exit.

Mostly correct, it’s just the last sentence should be:

Can you really trust him with this!?
Oh, shut up. We should go.

The two exit the workshop.

Leave me alone for a bit so I can think.
I wonder if there’s anything more we can do for him.
I’m afraid this is something he’ll have to figure out himself. Hopefully he can find the proper answer to this problem.

To progress this sub-event, we’ll have to rest for a day.

...the teacher...

Oh dear, seems like the fan translation got the entirely wrong idea about what this sub-event is actually about. There’s no apprentice involved at all in this other than Bernard himself I guess.

How can I convince him... Teacher...

Again with the apprentice thing.

How can I make my own work distinct if I’m still copying others?

But it isn't everything. Particularly for the Rushe.
What are you saying?
When you pick up a hammer, where is your head? Take pride in your work.

.........
I hope you find the answer to your dilemma soon.
Mm, let’s leave him alone for now. Not like any of us are experts in blacksmithing.

That’s all we can do with this sub-event for now. Before we close off this update...

We’re going to go and take on this quest. It has something very interesting in store for us.

Our condolences for your losses.
My parents gave their lives when the Soulcannon fired. Whether it was right, what choice we had... I cannot say. The sorrow I carry is just as heavy either way. Other people must feel the same way. But we Rushe do not dig graves for the dead. Even so, people call the cannon's ruins the Warrior's Tomb. Elsewhere in the world, you can bring things for the dead to tombs, right?
Yeah, it’s kind of a tradition for us.
So, I want to make an offering to my mom and dad of the things they loved.
I see. And what would that be?
My dad always liked Red Wolf Fur, and my mom liked Crystal Shards. One last time, I want to make them smile. Thanks for listening...

Redwolf Fur is dropped from Red Wolves in Doma Volcano. Crystal Shards however are a little trickier. See you have to get those from Dern Depths, that one dungeon where it was a bad idea to go early on cause it was basically this game’s gauntlet dungeon. Fortunately we don’t have to go too far in for the Crystal Shards.

Oh yeah, you can get 1 of 4 random conversations if you speak with the woman before completing this quest, detailing why these items are so important to her family.

Dad liked Red Wolf Fur, quite a bit. No... he loved it. Mom always gave him a weird look for adoring it so. Tsk, tsk... That one time, Dad... Do men understand how romance works?
Mom said Crystal Shards were her favorite. Back when Dad was sick and the quake hit... Tsk, tsk… We still had to bring them with us.
Dad loved Red Wolf Fur way too much. He was usually quiet, but he'd go on and on about his collection. Somehow it surprised Mom, every time. ...Dad...
Mom said Crystal Shards were her favorite. Back in the quake, she drove Dad nuts trying to bring them along. Haha… Mom, really? I mean... REALLY?

I’ve already got the Redwolf Fur on hand, so let’s go fetch those Crystal Shards.

Dern Depths are in the southeast corner of the map, in case you forgot.

Funnily enough my entire party is at or above that level at this point, and he still gave me the whole spiel about it being “too dangerous.” We could probably clear this dungeon right now, but that’s not what we’re here to do in this update.

We want to head left. There’s a dragon moving in a figure 8, and we want to time it so we can run past it easily, as there’s a staircase right there. However the other 2 dragons waiting behind us will turn aggressive if we run past a specific point in the hallway, so we’re going to have to be quick once we’re rushing past the 3rd dragon.

Which I manage to do.

From here we want to head northeast. There’s a dragon rushing back and forth, so just slip past it when it’s not in your way.

And reaching this gather point should be easy enough.

Crystal Shards are a pretty common item from this ore node, so it shouldn’t take too long to find one. Now we can head back to the woman with our graveyard offerings in tow.

Of course. Take them.
Thanks so much. I'll take it to their graves immediately...
Right, let’s head out.

Uhhh. That’s not a glitch nor a mistimed screenshot on my part. The fan translation accidentally deleted the text in the textbox here. What’s she’s supposed to say is:

I’ll get going...

The woman walks up the staircase.

But, mom and dad, you gave your lives to fight against evil. I think you must be resting peacefully... And both of you are still connected to the future... through me. Our family's still here. So please watch over me and don't worry. I'm grateful to you. My loving, admirable, wonderful parents...

Fade to black.

I left you something at the Quest Office. Thank you very much.
It’s no problem. As long as you could get your feelings sorted out there, it’s no trouble for us. We’re really sorry about what you had to go through.

Oh? What’s this now?
It's my father's favorite martial arts manual. ...I guess since it's only one page long, this seems like a joke, eh?

Hmm- uhhhhhhhhhh... Joke is one way to put it.
Well. This is certainly morbid.
If she was actually just throwing this out, I can’t exactly blame her for doing so...
We’re uh, not actually going to let Ark learn this, are we?
Of course not. Absolutely out of the question!

This skill is certainly a very special one. I’ll talk more about it in a bit.

Fade to black.

But... I know I can get used to it. So please don't worry.

Mom and Dad wouldn't want things this way. Your reward is waiting in the Quest Office. Thank you, truly.
It was no problem. Take all the time you need to recover.

The true “reward”, if you can call it that, is that EX skill. Which I’ll go into after we check up on that woman again.

I'm still lonely now, but I'm not sad. It'll get better, and my parents always loved for me to smile. After these sorrows, better days will come... Isn't that right?
I... I guess so.
Yes. The journey will be hard, but if you’re looking forward like that, better days will indeed come.

Right. So. Sacrifice. Let’s. Let’s talk about this skill. What exactly is Sacrifice?

As the name says, it's a selfless attack that does immense damage. And it will also recover LIFE and MANA for allies still standing... But, the person who uses it is lost forever... They cease to exist...

In a game full of mediocre or outright bad EX skills, Sacrifice easily has to be the worst EX skill in the entire game! And this isn’t something I say lightly. A lot of bad EX skills were completely outclassed by a similar normal skill they have. Like how Triple Kiss is just outright better than Ecstasy Kiss.

Sacrifice does not have this problem. It’s not outclassed by any other skill in the Rogue’s toolkit. No, it’s bad due to its unique design.

The only remotely positive thing I can say about this skill is that it is the only EX skill in the entire game that has absolutely no prerequisites, so it can even be learned by a level 1 Rogue straight from the get-go at the cost of only 3 SP.

Of course due to how this skill functions, that can actually be considered a negative, because this is not a skill you really want easy access to!

So let’s get into the specifics of just how this absolutely legendary skill works!

I’m sorry, I’ve overestimated our capabilities to deal with this threat.
Ugh, this has got to be a humiliating way to die...
...Tch, no other way out, huh?

Haru, I’m sorry for not listening to you and all that crap. I... I know you were just looking out for me.

Nila, yer really awesome, ya know that? Seeing you tear through all those dragons was really cool. I had so much fun hanging out with you and the rest of the guild.
A-ark? What are you doing...?
Ark, don’t!
And Buront. I’m sorry about what happened to yer people. Kick Niara’s ass for me, will ya?
Don’t you dare!
And I really just wanna say...

Sacrifice will instantly kill everything in the battle, with an infliction rate of 100%! And keep in mind because you have to use EX to use this skill, you actually have 2 rolls at it, which is very hard to resist! Not only that, it will fully heal every party member and fully restore their mana, which is a great package deal! So what’s wrong with it?

Thanks for everything...

Ark!? Why...!?
Ark!? No no no!
If this is a joke, it’s not funny!

I’m sorry, but she truly is gone...
Goddamn it all!

Yes. That’s right. Sacrifice permanently kills the user once used! An actual permadeath inducing skill! 7th Dragon actually makes a distinction between unconscious and dead units. The latter is only applied to enemies once they reach 0 LIFE, and party members can only be knocked into the former state once they lose all their LIFE.

However, Sacrifice bypasses that and actually inflicts real actual death on the user, completely removing them from the battle, and your guild. That party member is now gone forever. Oh and as insult to injury, any equipment they had on also disappeared and went poof. There is absolutely no way to get that party member back, nor their equipment.

There’s no way to bypass the penalty either. You can’t just revive the user during battle, as they instantly disappear upon cast, and the party size immediately adjusts to account for that. Now there are a couple of other things to know about this skill as well.

KABLOOEY!

Oh disgusting, her blood got all over my robes!
Perhaps what remains of her arm might make a good makeshift weapon at least?
I suppose she left us a nice opening to deal with these dragons.

If the Death infliction fails, which it will against all dragons and bosses, as they have the Death Resistant flag, Sacrifice actually has a secondary effect that activates instead. Against targets that survive the Death aspect, they will take 70% of their maximum LIFE as damage! This is completely unavoidable and cannot be stopped. Which should at least ensure a win in most battles. However the damage cannot be boosted nor reduced in any way.

The other thing to be aware of is Sacrifice’s restorative properties are limited. It cannot dispel any ailments. And for that matter it cannot revive unconscious party members (Let alone revive any other Rogue that sacrificed themselves). So its not a guaranteed way to turn battles around, as there are some situations it just can’t cover.

Incidentally, because it actually counts as actual death, the Knight’s Fury skill interacts differently with it. Each unconscious party member multiplies its damage by 1.2, with unconscious Princesses multiplying it further by 1.3. However each dead Rogue (and for the record, Sacrifice is the only way to actually kill a party member) multiplies the damage further by 1.5. Which is something to be aware of if you have a Knight with that skill I guess.

Of course it should be extremely obvious at this point why this skill is awful and the actual worst skill in the game. The sheer opportunity cost of giving up a party member you’ve raised all game is not worth paying just to win one fight. One fight out of the thousands it takes to get through this game. Sacrifice may get past a troublesome fight, but you’ve just screwed yourself over in the long term as now you’re stuck with a 3 person party. Or you could grind up a 4th party member, but that’s going to take ages. Either way, absolutely not worth it.

In fact, in the event that Sacrifice would somehow save you from a game over, it’s probably best to just eat the game over, as chances are that the time lost from the progress made since your last save point won’t even compare to the time it takes to grind up a replacement party member. The exception being that you somehow and for some reason did not save since a new file was started.

That being said some of you might have observed that a level 1 Rogue can instantly learn the skill. Why not just Sacrifice a bunch of expendable new recruits? Well, Imageepoch thought of that, and it won’t work. Let me show you why.

For this demonstration, Ark is level 52, and I’ve set the levels of all these Bluegrass Nymphs to level 62.

I immediately regret this decision...

Yeah, Sacrifice has absolutely no effect on any enemies that are 10 or more levels above the user’s level. The attack will just miss them entirely while working normally on any other enemies that happen to be in the battle to not fall under that condition.

It wasn’t a total waste of a life, at least.

Fortunately the heal will always affect your party, unless they’re unconscious. So it still has that going for it.

Great. Where are we going to find a new member for our guild on such short notice?

However, even if Sacrifice fails to kill or damage anything, the Rogue still dies anyways. In short, this skill is awful, and should never be used. But there’s one last thing to explore with this skill.

What happens if you use Sacrifice while all your other party members are knocked out, or if you’re running a solo Rogue?

The enemies actually die upon use.

But so does the Rogue.

I don’t know what I was expecting.

As a result they get a free Darwin Award for their troubles. Don’t use Sacrifice in these situations unless you want to end up the same way.

To sum up this skill:

It will attempt to instantly kill all enemies with a 100% chance twice (because it’s EX boosted), and if that fails, any survivors get hit with 70% of their maximum LIFE as damage instead. However, it will not work on enemies that are 10 or more levels higher than the Rogue’s level. No matter what, all living party members in the battle will be fully healed and have all their mana restored. However this skill cannot dispel ailments nor can it revive unconscious party members. And finally, the penalty involves the death of the Rogue, which deletes them from your guild and the game entirely, which also deletes any equipment they had on their person at the time.

If any of you readers are wondering if I’m ever going to use this skill, allow me to respond with a resounding hell no! I just went on a massive rant about how godawful this skill is, why would I use it after that? And I have absolutely no intention of killing off a character this late into the Let’s Play, let alone asking for a replacement character for Ark. This non-canon showcase of the skill is the only time you will ever see me actually use it. She’s still alive and well in the actual narrative, and I will continue using her.

Anyways, with all that silliness out of the way, we’ve cleared out a bunch of loose ends, and now I’d say it’s time to dive into Tokyon and investigate it. So vote on the party that should partake in hopefully finding an answer to deal with the True Dragons. Vote for 3 party members and votes must be in bold.
