S02E07: A prophecy... A slime... A grave...

Last time Sarah showed up and then Random took her home.

Yes, we are bidding farewell to Sarah already. Tragic, isn't it?

Sarah... does something. This is the animation for the Love Me debuff spell. If she's casting that on him... I don't know. Does she wanna fight? Is she picking a fight with us?

Anyway, they both say they love each other and that they'll be thinking of each other all the time.

Then we cut back to Tyrine.

Guanidia's really not keen on the s/M thing.

He also complains about having had to avoid Sarah for a week before she left with Random.

Also his GF doesn't care about him enough.

He wants to enjoy something 'important.'

Guanidia is called before the Ancient, who explains he is actually a super cool special slime that may begin evolving.

So they're going to have Guanidia fight the golem in the garden.

I should note that many slimes go to fight the golem and never return.

Uhm. Sure.

The angry slime tells us he killed the golem once but then the very next day it was just fine. Another slime mentions trying to kill it but it regenerates too fast.

Pepsi has different priorities.

No one else has much of interest to say, so...

There's a second barricade...

How do you tell

Just past Bourrinus, we come into a big grassy area.

There's giant enemy crabs here because why not.

The Golem runs around. It's not too fast. Nowhere near as fast as a PC anyway. We're meant to lure it to a certain spot, you're not really meant to fight it, but...

See, it does this like every three or four turns and Guanidia's normal attack does... not much. However, if you use Glue to debuff the Golem repeatedly, his normal attack will do... 80-100 damage. Hm. Well, at that point Guanidia's Kamikaze and Glue both do a lot more damage, more than enough to outdamage the healing, but it'd take forever.

This is what I saved the Rivers of Doom scroll for. It gives us five casts of Carnivor Water. Guanidia actually knows this spell himself, but it costs 65 MP for him and doesnt do as much damage as the scroll for some reason.

The scroll does 800-900 damage, so we take off roughly 4500-5000 HP off the golem... and it's still going. I have to kamikaze it a lot of times still after that, before...

That Astrobalt is our reward for this.

Unfortunately, we cannot progress with the golem like this.

The acid lake is completely impassable but we find this... useless(?) item.

If we leave this screen and return, though, the golem is functioning once again, so...

We lure it into that pillar, both killing it and providing a path for Guanidia to jump the lake with.

So Boko here basically says only a most extraordinary slime could have done what Guanidia just did so he's moving up in the world.

Guanidia's all like, wait whats so special or sacred about this place? (Nothing, Boko says) And why did I do those tests and Boko essentially just says 'lol reasons.'

A fairy tale... a slime...

So Guanidia heads back to Lapalulu and actually does not tell the villagers, not wanting to be the village 'saver.' He wants to leave it to the Ancient to spread the good news.

He does hint at great news to Trypsina though. A slime with an extraordinary... destiny.

Rather than tell the Ancient that the ruins are empty, like The Ancients wanted, Guanidia just flat out claims he couldn't make it across the acid lake.

And so Guanidia heads back to Tyrine as a hero.

Guanidia cannot use Randoms save book.

Honestly, who hates chickens

And we find an optional sidequest!!!!

We come out in someone elses home.

There's a short sequence we have to do in this specific order or it breaks. Anyway, this opens the southernmost door, allowing us to access the hallway.

Our only reward for this is three breads.

Because the psychos that live here lock every single door for some reason.

However, this is all a trick to put you off guard. Not that you would ever think to do this anyway.

If you sit in this room for 30 seconds...

He leaves that little room unlocked as he goes, but he relocks the main room.

Which lets up grab some nice loot. The Tonic Stone is a nice stat up item.

If you did this little bit first, then the door bugs out and the Black Key wont let you get out to the hall. But all you miss is three breads I guess.

Time to go back.

Random's waiting to tell Guandiia about his test for tomorrow and asks if Guanidia wants to come with.

And since Random only just got back today, he decides to give Wendala orders for the -night-.

Silently doing chores all night apparently.

He's such a little Hitler.

Random STILL gives Wendie chores for the day before he heads off.

And brags to Leona about shit we did in LP1. I'd swear we won three times against Eva as Random, but whatever.

Also Chaz! found out about Wendie somehow. Random just says he's caring for her as a favour to a friend. Which is true.

Then he gives us a spare Tonic Tea and tells Random to 'not lose motivation' because Leona is watching.

Why. He's as much of a psycho as you are if not moreso and will never express admiration.

Anyway, we talk to the Tamer and she says nothing much, so let's fight this thing.

ANOTHER beast from Oudes Giuli?

Anyway, this would be a challenge if I hadn't ground Random to level 50. Maybe even then it wouldn't be too hard. It does decent damage and poisons him, but its easy to take care of by casting G-Wave or drinking a Tonic Tea. I think it has 9999HP or something close to it, as well.

But after a short battle, it's done for.

Leona is very excited by this.

Before we can go home, we need to speak to Leona again, and she tells Random of the traditional end of school year tourney.
Which Random should already have known about since it was in the course description!!!

Leona starts to tell him the reward is usually gold or nice gear...

But the possibility of winning an amazing relic catches Randoms attention.

This is how she answers Randoms question about where she heard the rumors about the sword.

Lol. I agree except instead of sword and board you should use giant two handers or at least a hand-and-a-half-sword. Or use a long sword the way they're meant to be used.

Leona's going to beat Randoms ass with the sword if he wins.

When we leave the classroom, Random has some thoughts on all this:

I think Random is more excited about the tourney itself.

I can see Sarah being impressed maybe but what makes you think any of the rest and especially Coryool would give a single fuck?

Random drags us to the shops. I sell some stuff but do not buy anything, and leave.

Random basically tells her no, for no real reason.

get back in the kitchen and make me a... salad...?

We also have to pick chores for her again.

Meanwhile Random actually tells Guanidia why he can't come.

lol

Then we get taken to the school.

Random says being matched up against Chaz! is nearly as bad as being matched up to Leona.

Mike's GF is worried about him back here, especially since she can't watch him fight. Good luck, Mike.

The Hall of Fame sign has been moved into the classroom and if you go through it we'll find that Random was the -only- one who beat the Manticora. Not even Thomas managed to do that.

Anyway, from here we shall do the end part of Random's Destiny in video. It has everything! Action and drama! Love and loss! Shadowy, sinister figures and intrigue! Stupid jackasses!

lmao did anyone understand more than half of what Yveen was saying at the end there? what the fuck was that

That's like the worst English we've seen yet.

Also something that really gets me is the flashback scenes to him spending time with Leona being very... well... I can see why meeting her the first time might be something he thought of but the other two? Why not recall the time you, Leona and Cecil celebrated in the bar after the Golem Genocide trial? Or make up some scenes!
Oh well.
R.I.P. Leona. We hardly knew ye.

Also, Guanidias new look made me laugh my ass off the first time I ever saw it.
Anyway, next time we'll have a short update about Random's Destiny's postgame. There's some stuff, but not a lot. Then we'll get started on Sarah's Destiny the update after. The remaining three destinies are all -much- shorter than Randoms. Half the length, if not shorter still. Also Sarah and Coryools have fuck all going on in theirs. At least Luci's introduces a character that has a small but important role in Laxius Force.
